I ordered this and received it exactly one week after I ordered it, which was exactly what the shipping I selected had said. When it was delivered today I absolutely couldn't wait to use it. Let me say, it worked wonders on my hair which is extremely thick.
But I was a bit surprised when I opened the box that the color of the flat iron and the picture were a bit different. Maybe I was over analyzing it, but yes, it did seem a bit different. Also, towards the back of the straightener, the plates don't touch without pushing down a bit harder than normal, which was a bit different for me.
So far so good for me though!

I tried out this one and the Sedu (1 1/2 inch...$125...also from folica.com). This one works just as well and for less money, so I'm sending the more expensive one back. My only (minor) complaint is that the plates don't touch each other perfectly...they close first at the tip, then with more pressure the entire flat surface closes. I found the sedu had the same problem, just not as big of a gap. I like the swivel cord, and the normal plug in (versus the plug in that has that surge protector or whatever on it).
Great product

Bought this product for 3 reasons: being disappointed by other flat irons, to stop sharing with my daughters, and all the positive reviews on here. To get to the point, great results, heats up in seconds, would recommend this highly. Any negatives? Maybe the color is a bit flat, and it would be better if the handle opened up just a bit more. My 2 daughters (18,11) said their hair has never been smoother, and it glides right through their very thick, wavy hair. Great product.
extremely surprised...great!

Tried many but none compare to how fast and easy this was. Worth every penny.

I have big... poofy, just way out of control hair, with many layers... [bad idea]
I used a Remington Wet2Straight, let's just say, it was horrible and my hair got very dry and the more I tried to make it straight the poofier it got, and frizzier. I got the Solia Pink Limited Edition TODAY for my birthday and it's amazing. My hair's already softer, smoother, and silkier and it actually isn't poofy. It's AMAZING. I recomend it 100%
after 1 month of use, it does the job

This is my first time purchasing a flat iron and after much reviewing, I chose the solia. My hair is already straight, but is coarse and thick. It needs to be blow-dried in order to remain sleek and non-pouffy. I don't have time to blow-dry my hair for an hour these days, so I forego the dryer and use the iron on air-dried hair. It takes about 15 minutes to get all my hair done. I like the temperature range, although I find I need to use the high end. The long swivel cord is great too. I'm not agile at other techniques yet (i.e. curling and flipping) but my sister, who has hair like mine, has managed to do so with this iron. In all, I'm pleased with my purchase so far.
highly recommend solia

First time use of a flat iron - like having a temperature range and quick heat up time and swivel cord that is also long. Love the color pink and the travel case. Only wish it had an auto shut-off and more of an ergonomic handle. Leaves hair smooth - no frizzies. Good value for $85.00 including S&H. Arrived within a week of order.
Not worth it!

I purchased this product because of all the great reviews. I have very fine frizzy hair and it did nothing for it. It took forever to straighten and then out of frustration my hair would be back in a ponytail. I've purchased 2 other flat irons from Folica and have had great luck with them. When I clamped the iron shut, it is so poorly made that the plates on one end did not even touch. For the price, the manufacturer should be ashamed to even sell this.
I love this flat iron!

I have about 4 other flat irons and they usually burn my hair causing it to friz. Also, my hair gets caught in the irons and frays. I would have to admit that when the lady in the mall told me that the pink Solia flat iron was the best on the market, I wanted to laugh. I have spent as high as 60 dollars on a flat iron that was on sale and she was trying to sell me the Solia for 199 dollars. She had me sit down while she showed me how the iron heats from the inside of the cuticle of the hair causing it to bring the oils of the hair to surface leaving the hair smoothe, silky, and shiny. This was too good to be true. One of my daughters were with me and the sales lady told me to watch what she does. She put the flat iron on my daughter's hair and with one flip slowly pulled downward and the most beautiful thick ringlet evolved. I have to admit she impressed me. I knew I had to have this iron. However, I didn't want to pay 199 for it, so I researched it online. I found it for 89 dollars. To me this was a steal, so I purchased the iron. I am glad that I did. I straighten my hair on a regular basis as well as use it for touch ups to feel the silkiness of my hair when warm and refreshed. My hair will stay straight for days. I love this iron. I have about 300 dollars worth of products that I have bought in the past 3 years that I am going to either sale or get rid of now that I have invested in the best flat iron ever.
It's great

My daughter had a pink Solia and took it to College. I was
lost without it. Could have bought lots of different types, but opted for the pink Solia. I have VERY difficult hair to straighten --- this is the best product that I have ever used. Thanks pinkie

i recieved my Solia as a christmas gift and i loved it, it worked so nice on my curly, frizzy hair, but 3 months later it died on me. I thought maybe this one was a bad make, luckily the warrenty wasnt over and i recieved another new one. Another 3-4 months passed again and my second straightener broke. I went about 3 months without a straightener until i finally bought a normal Solia 1 inch, hopefully this one wont die on me like the others.
Tried 2 others, like this one best !

I have owned a CHI and a Sedu. The Chi was good but the plates fell off within 6 months. I also owned a 1 1/2" Sedu and it developed a loose connection, you had to hold it a certain way or it wouldn't work. Then one day I went to use it, it fell apart in my hands. This product straightens my hair with the first pass and it stays until I wash it. This is the best product at a GREAT price. Highly recommended. Love the PINK also.
Absolutely GREAT!

This straightener is as good as and Chi straightener. My hair is real full, frizzy and thick when i first blow dry and this product straightens it with perfection! It is a lil thinner then expected but works great, you can adjust settings on it. Would def buy from Folica again!
A real answer.

I have very fine hair that has some curl and NO body. The Solia provides the body and lasting hold I need, heats in a moment and gives me exactly the look I'm going for. Easy to use and leaves my hair shiny, too.
Solia much better than true ceramic pro!!

I had a true ceramic pro (for 4 months) and loved it. Then it quit. The company reps said too bad. I then got on their sit and found out maybe I was lucky as I didn't spend the extra $$ to get the extended warranty (I thought the 160.00 I spend would imply I purchased a quality product--NOT!!).
I got the much more affordable Solia and I love it!! Try this before you get ripped off with the TCP.
Ignore looks--works great!

The pink definately looks cheesy, but works great. I have a large Sedu iron and this works just as good. Sometimes the smaller plates work sooo much better.
