Yes. Start close to the root and twist the iron around and around as you slide through the hair. | Hair Products to Use With
I just got my Solia, and I was wondering if there are any good products, from any company, like serums or leave-ins that can protect and shine my hair. Maybe even something to protect my hair because the Solia can get hot really fast! so, thanks! Question posted by Erin, 25 Thu Mar 15 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by Jennifer

Your best bet is going to a salon. Ask them of a hair serum that works best to protect your hair from heat appliances. It might cost you a pretty penny, but its worth it. Good luck! | | Reply by Deborah

Less is more when it comes to this iron. Start with a lower setting and move up higher if the curl is not tight enough. I have permed Afro-American hair that is fine. We require more heat for our hair. I use next to the highest setting for perfect shiney hair. I also use Farouk Biosilk Therapy Smoothing lotion and also get good results Nexxus Heat Protexx, right after conditioning it, with my hair wet. I blow dry and curl with the Solia. You must use a good moisturizing shampoo also, like Nexxus Humectress. | | Reply by Lindsey

I used to use Matrix sleek. look Iron Smoother (in an orange spray bottle) and that stuff works really good, and it protects your hair. Now, I've started using got2b crazysleek Iron/Blowdryer lotion (also in an orange spray bottle), which also protects your hair. This stuff makes your hair really smooth and silky and it smells really good too. | | Reply by Juli

in my opinion the sedu smoothing (or moisturizing) heat protection booster spray works well, keeps hair from getting damage, and is realtively cheap. | Time?

If you turn the flat iron a bit as you come down, it will place a wave in your hair--Like Farrah Faucette's old hair style that framed her face. The smaller ones are more versitile for tight curls--like spirals or you can just bend it a little bit for soft waves. Just remember, the serium or smoother spray you use and the moisturizing shampoo and conditioner are what reacts with the Soila to render you the smooth/shiney hair. | ??
So if it's pink and all, does this mean that eventually the pink on the iron itself will start coming off when it gets hott? Question posted by Shelby Sun Feb 04 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by Customer Service

The best product to use for heat protection.. hm.. try biosilk products. You can use this pantene pro-v serum on ur hair that helps moisturize and lock in the moisture in ur hair, to prevent a dry scalp. | | Reply by Evangeline

I wouldn't recommend biosilk because it has alcohol in it which WILL eventually dry your hair out. I would recommend Paul Mitchell super skinny serum which you can put on damp hair and you can use a SMALL amount on dry hair. | | Reply by Marissa K

I would really recommend Chi Silk Infusion It smells great, and really makes your hair feel like silk. It's also alcohol free. | Thick vs. Thin

They will probably take about the same time, but thinner flatirons work better in straightening the hair and keeping it straight. | time?

You Cant Really say how long, because it would depend on what type of hair you have and how high your straightener is. = ) | | Reply by anonymous

I also have wavy, thick hair that is a few inches past my shoulders. It takes me 10-15 minutes to get my hair perfectly straight and I use it at about a 375-400 degree setting. |
