Does it straighten your hair in one shot?
I've been looking at alot of hair straighteners and none of them say if you can straighten a clump of hair in one shot. Do you have to go over the clump of hair over and over? I really want a good straightener and im hoping this is the one!

I have the same straightner and it pretty much does but depending on how curly and how hot it is you have to straighten it more. But for the most part it works great:) :) :) :)!!!!!!

i have the straightener and i'm sorry to say that it does not work very well. i'm not trying to be mean or anything but in my experience the drugstore brands work much better. my sister has this one from rite aide that works soooo amazing! it is a remington and it's blue and brown. my solia takes me so long to get a strp straight and then by the time i'm finished it's all wavy again.

High Price
Okay, I really love all the features on this, and everyone's reviews are really good. My mom hates the price. Thing is, I'm paying for it. Is there anyway to convince her?

Try to rationalize the amount she is spending with the longevity of the product. For example, my last flat iron set me back $250 but it lasted me 5 years. So divided the total by 5 years and you are spending $50 a year for great straight hair which I think is a pretty good investment. And considering this flat iron is half off right now at $85 and assuming it will last you 4-5 years (fingers crossed), it will cost your mom $17 a year over 5 years. Not bad. And then offer to split the total with her. Good luck!

How badly does it pull your hair?
I have wavy/straight hair just resting on my shoulder and my old straightener just did NOT keep my hair straight! I would walk outside and my ends would flip, and it looked horrible.QUESTION- I have very fine and thin hair, and I was wondering how bad the straightener pulls out hair while straightening- with anyone with similar thin medium-length hair.(and does it stay straight in humid weather?? My hair does NOT)

hey ok so my mom has this straightener and i have used it a lot. out of all the ones i have used, it definitely does NOT pull your hair. as far as ur hair flipping, most people's hair flips at the end at that length but this straightener will for sure help. ( i also have fine thin hair and it works wonders ) idk bout the humid stuff bc my hair doesnt change in humidity but i hope this helps.

I have very thin hair too. My is also about the same length as yours. I went to a friends house once and she had one of these. My hair was in a ponytail and had been all day. She told me it would take out the crimp and straighten it perfectly and it DID. It was about 94 degrees that day and my hair didnt frizz, didnt flip out, and looked AMAZING!!! PS: Two weeks later I got one and have used it everyday and it works stiil like a charm!

it doesn't pull too much. but it doesn't not pull. if you're going to curl your hair it pulls a lot. if you want to straighten it it pulls occasionally.

Does it work for shorter hair?
My main concern is that it works well with short hair. My style is a short bob with an inverted back. My current straightner is so wide i end up with flipped out hair by my ears, yuck! Any short haired users comments appreciated! Thanks

Pink vs. Black?
Do the both have the dynamic alignment? I presume so but the black doesn't mention it in the description. Also, does the pink version still donate to breast cancer? Finally, would the 1 in be ok for someone w/ thick curly and medum length hair? Mine is short but I am thinking I will grow it over the summer. Have a wide straightener now and I canNOT get to the roots. THanks!

Hi...about the protective serums...I find nothing works like the 'Sleek.Look-Iron Smoother' It is a spray you use on each section of hair before you flat iron...it protects your hair from heat up to 250 degrees...I LOVE IT !!!

I use tresemee. I get it at walmart and it's only $4. It leaves my hair soft and shiny. I use my flat iron at 350 degrees every day and i still haven't found any split ends. This one you use 6-8" away from your hair

It reaches 450 degrees. I would suggest using a heat protector if you're going to go about 200 degrees for every day use.

Shampoo and conditioners
I just purchased the Solia pink. I was wondering which shampoo and conditioner would be best when using a flat iron. I thought a moisturizing shampoo would be good. My hair is colored too. I would like to know which brands are your favorites.

If I were you I would try using Pantene Sleek + Shine. I started using it about a month ago and it kept my hair smooth, shiny, and it didn't affect straightening. It also depends what brand of dye you use in your hair. I suggest you ask your hair dresser.

I use Matix Sleek Look, and it works great for me. If you are looking for a very smooth, flat look, this would be perfect. The thermal spray and hairspray also works great for me.

will it really de-frizz, and stay non frizzy even in humidity?
i have a remmington wet2straight right now and i usually straighten it dry because if i straighten it wet it looks really bad but anyway my hair looks good right after i straighten it, but by the time i get to school it is super frizzy and doesn't really look like i even straightened it. will this straightener keep my hair straight, de-frized, and looking great all day? even when it's super humid? thanks!

I used to have the same straightener and the same problem, and I don't know where you live, but I live in Washington, and it rains a lot here, and my hair is still smooth by the end of the day. Mine flips out a little, but that's probably just because I'm at the really awkward place trying to grow out a bob. I've had mine a year and it still heats up nicely and the plates are still perfect, I recommend it(:

It normally flips a little in humidity, but it is a lot better than it is curly. I remember it was really rainy and I went out afterward when it was barely sprinkling, and my hair got a little poofy. But my hair was damp.
