My main concern is that it works well with short hair. My style is a short bob with an inverted back. My current straightner is so wide i end up with flipped out hair by my ears, yuck! Any short haired users comments appreciated! Thanks Question posted by Julie Fri Jan 11 2008 Submit your answer | Reply by lala

Yes it works great on short hair! I have hair cut to right below my ears and it makes it look amazing | Pink vs. Black?
Do the both have the dynamic alignment? I presume so but the black doesn't mention it in the description. Also, does the pink version still donate to breast cancer? Finally, would the 1 in be ok for someone w/ thick curly and medum length hair? Mine is short but I am thinking I will grow it over the summer. Have a wide straightener now and I canNOT get to the roots. THanks! Question posted by Dee Submit your answer Applying protection??

Hi...about the protective serums...I find nothing works like the 'Sleek.Look-Iron Smoother' It is a spray you use on each section of hair before you flat iron...it protects your hair from heat up to 250 degrees...I LOVE IT !!! | | Reply by mandy

I use tresemee. I get it at walmart and it's only $4. It leaves my hair soft and shiny. I use my flat iron at 350 degrees every day and i still haven't found any split ends. This one you use 6-8" away from your hair | temperature
i want to know what is the highest temperature this product reachest pls. Question posted by nikoletta Thu Nov 15 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by Madison

It reaches 450 degrees.
I would suggest using a heat protector
if you're going to go about 200 degrees
for every day use. | Shampoo and conditioners
I just purchased the Solia pink. I was wondering which shampoo and conditioner would be best when using a flat iron. I thought a moisturizing shampoo would be good. My hair is colored too. I would like to know which brands are your favorites. Question posted by Peggy Mon Nov 05 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by Julia <333

If I were you I would try using Pantene Sleek + Shine. I started using it about a month ago and it kept my hair smooth, shiny, and it didn't affect straightening. It also depends what brand of dye you use in your hair. I suggest you ask your hair dresser. | | Reply by kim

I use Matix Sleek Look, and it works great for me. If you are looking for a very smooth, flat look, this would be perfect. The thermal spray and hairspray also works great for me. | will it really de-frizz, and stay non frizzy even in humidity?
i have a remmington wet2straight right now and i usually straighten it dry because if i straighten it wet it looks really bad but anyway my hair looks good right after i straighten it, but by the time i get to school it is super frizzy and doesn't really look like i even straightened it. will this straightener keep my hair straight, de-frized, and looking great all day? even when it's super humid? thanks! I used to have the same straightener and the same problem, and I don't know where you live, but I live in Washington, and it rains a lot here, and my hair is still smooth by the end of the day. Mine flips out a little, but that's probably just because I'm at the really awkward place trying to grow out a bob.
I've had mine a year and it still heats up nicely and the plates are still perfect, I recommend it(: | | Reply by Isabella

It normally flips a little in humidity, but it is a lot better than it is curly.
I remember it was really rainy and I went out afterward when it was barely sprinkling, and my hair got a little poofy. But my hair was damp. | Can i bring this to another country??
I would be going to another country which has 220V...i'm wondering if my solia will be okay with a transformer? Question posted by pink Thu Aug 30 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by customer service

Equipped with plug type "A", this model works in the following counties WITHOUT a transformer:
USA, Canada, Mexico, American Samoa, Anguilla, Antigua, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo area), Canada, Cayman Islands, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guam, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Japan, Lebanon, Mexico, Micronesia, Netherlands Antilles, Nicaragua, Okinawa, Palmyra Atoll, Panama, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, Tahiti, Taiwan, Trinidad & Tobago, United States of America, Venezuela, Virgin Islands (British and U.S.). | Blinking red light?
I first got my Solia straightener yesterday and I tried it today. I tried to put it to the lower settings but it would either turn off and anything lower than 450, the red light blinks. What is going on here and should I return it for another one? Question posted by Esther Thu Aug 30 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by customer service

Read the manual... it says when the iron reaches the desired temperature, the indicator light will blink rapidly.
If you initially set the iron to high temperature (450 in you case) and later adjust to lower temperature, of course the iron will stop heating (too cool itself down). But after it cools down, it will start heating again (indicator will be on).
Your iron is normal. | What to put on hair before straightening?

I use a heat protecting spray when my hair is still wet, the one I'm using now is by Nexxus and it works really well. | | Reply by Mishy

Use sedu moisturizing heat protecting boost, or FHI heat hot sauce. Apply some to your hair and then wait 5 minutes and then flat iron your hair. if there is a sizzling noise when you flat iron your hair that means its too wet, so wait a bit till it's dry. | | Reply by mandee

I use Sunsilk anti - poof . It works on any type of hair. I have a terrible 20 $ Conair straightner and the cream is what makes me hair straight like the CHI . I have a dyed, poofy, frizzy mess and without the Sunsilk A.P , my hair would stay that way. Just don't ever buy Conair !! | Best against humidity?
I need a flat iron that works best against humidity; one that will maintain your hair's straightening/styling the longest. Suggestions? Question posted by Emma-Lee Sun Aug 12 2007 Submit your answer
