Product Rating: 5 Great dryer!!!!
Reviewer: Sara from San Jose, CA  Tue Nov 13 2007

All my life I have owned only drugstore brand hair dryers. I have curly thick hair that I like to blow dry straight. I use my hair dryers a lot and the drugstore ones always seemed to die on me after using them for a year or so. So finally I decided I needed to research a professional hair dryer. Folica.com is the best website with every product you can imagine for your hair. Since my last satisfied purchase of a Chi flat iron was with Folica.com I decided to read up some of the reviews on different dryers and I went with the Solia. It is true that my hair now feels less dry than when I used to blow dry it before with the drugstore brand. However, I am not necessarily seeing that it dries faster but I do like how much shinier my hair is and the fact that I don't need to use my flat iron every time afterwards is a major plus for me. The sound could be quieter of course but it is much better than my old loud one. My husband can definitely sleep better in the mornings :)
So I think I made a great purchase and the price was great too! Folica shipped my order and I got it right away.

I am actually very happy with the purchase. Amidst the variety of products, it is hard to pick the right one. After having read the reviews, my choice fell on Solia. Its design, features and price seemed to work out for me. When the product arrived, I simply couldn't wait to try it. It is very light and easy to maneuver in your hands. My hair is pretty good to manage in general, but with Solia it looks especially pretty. You will not be disappointed if looking for a good quality and simple blow-dryer. Best of luck in your future purchases at Folica. Love this website.

I did the research for my wife's birthday and purchased this one after looking at the reviews. Turns out it was a gift to me, since now I can sleep without that jumbo jet dryer she had, waking me, and the waking the stinkin' dead too! This is WAY quieter with a soft, low "hum." Her reaction: She couldn't be more pleased considering all the think hair she has, she is getting 15 minutes per day back on her life with the drying speed of this product. Lets see...two hours per week gained back x 52 weeks. That's a lot of time better served for other activities - and no hearing damage.

Product Rating: 4 Dries hair fast!
Reviewer: Chrissy   Mon Nov 05 2007

This is the first really nice hair dryer that I've ever purchased and I'm very happy with it. My hair normally dries fast because it's so fine, but with this hair dryer it's even faster! Saves me a lot of time and my hair always feels very soft after using it.

I decided to purchase the Solia 1875W hair dryer after YEARS of using a Conair drugstore model (it's still going after 10 years). The drugstore model left my ears ringing, so it was important to me to find a hair dryer that was quiet, light, and dried quickly.

The Solia is not light; it weighs quite a bit, particularly if you have a lot of hair to dry. It dried my hair quicker than my trusty Conair, but I expected so s it is a new dryer with more wattage.

As for it being "whisper quiet," it is not. This was the most disappointing aspect of the item. It does makes a lower-toned "whoosh" sound rather than the higher pitched sound my old dryer made (that left my ears ringing and had me searching for a quiet dryer). The Solia dryer wakes up my husband in the morning, but at least he can go back to sleep; the lower pitched sound is not as irritating, but it still does make noise.

I can't attest to my hair being healthier or more manageable after using the Solia. It gets my hair dried, but it is nothing fantastic. I think that one could spend half the price and find something comprable from a drugstore.

I wish I would have known how great my Solia dryer was going to be. Drys hair super fast and controls frizz. I will never be without this dryer. Well worth the price. You will not be disappointed with this purchase. I'm going to buy one for my sister!

Product Rating: 4 Dries fast - but can flatten fine hair
Reviewer: Diane from Gaithersburg, MD  Thu Nov 01 2007

I have fine hair, and I love how this dryer dries my hair fast and makes it shiny. It is also lightweight and easy to access the controls. But I think the ionic heat can make fine hair a little flat - guess its a tradeoff.

Since my old dryer died before my new one arrived, I bought a cheap dryer. When it arrived, I did a side-by-side comparison and hands-down, the Solia one is much better. The quality of the materials is better, the sound of the motor is better and it dried my hair much quicker. It did take some getting used to the placement of the buttons, but it's no big deal. It also is a little big and heavy, but it's also a full-size dryer so it's to be expected. I'm just trying to get used to the size. It's powerful without sounding or feeling that way--dries quickly. My hair is colored with highlights, thin, fine and has a little wave, but I need to dry it for body or else it's limp. My hair was shiny to begin with so I didn't notice a difference there, but my hairdresser asked me what I was doing since she said my hair was in better condition. All that was different was the new Solia dryer! The Solia dryer is a good buy... I was convinced once I compared it side-by-side. I'm very pleased with it and definitely recommend it! This is my second purchase with Folica and again I'm happy with my order.

Product Rating: 3 Not as good as I hoped
Reviewer: Emmy   Tue Oct 30 2007

After reading the reviews, I bought this dryer expecting a lot---especially shorter drying time. I have thick wavy shoulder length hair that I'd been drying with a drugstore 1875-watt dryer. I suspect that the people who said their drying time was reduced were using drugstore brands of lower wattage before purchasing the Solia, because my drying time is exactly the same. The air from the Solia comes out with much more force, but nevertheless the drying time is not reduced. My hair comes out maybe a bit better, but I'm glad I didn't spend a fortune for this, or I'd be feeling very ripped off. I must say I feel a bit like The Emperor's New Clothes---I definitely do not see the excellent results others have written about.

Product Rating: 2 Not what I was hoping for
Reviewer: Marcella   Tue Oct 30 2007

I was looking for a hair dryer that would "make a difference". This isn't the one for me. If you are looking for one that blows a lot of air without the choice of making it just blow "a little", then you will be happy with it. It is a hurricane! Also, the long cord drives me crazy! You could vacuum your house while blow drying your hair. As far as being "ionic", I can see no difference in my hair. Good luck in your search! Mine continues!

This hairdryer is well worth the money. It dries the hair faster than any dryer I have ever used. I would highly recommend this product.

Product Rating: 5 A good choice
Reviewer: Vrushali Bhadbhade from Ohio  Mon Oct 29 2007

I was a little worried before I ordered this hairdryer cause I never heard of it before but when I read the reviews, I took a chance. And it turned out to be very good. Although it is a little heavy compared to the one I had before(an excellent hairdryer which I bought from Japan and was with me for 10 yrs) but the hairdrying time is reduced to half. It is a very good choice!!

I am a mom of 2 with little time to get ready. This dryer dried my hair in half the time it normally takes! It left it smoother and shinier than usual, even when I am due for highlights and my hair is at its worst! Highly recommended!

great value - dries my coarse hair really quickly, although, I find the dryer a bit heavy. I would highly recommend this product. Also, nice color, while not really important thought I'd mention it.

Product Rating: 5 Solia 1875W is a terrific hair dryer!
Reviewer: Anonymous from Norfolk, VA  Tue Oct 09 2007

This is the best hair dryer I have ever owned. It is quiet, dries my hair quickly, leaves it soft and silky and has made me a believer that there is a difference in expensive salon dryers over the drug store variety, a difference well worth paying for!
