I was so excited about finally getting the Solia flat irons and blow dryer, Flat irons great, Blow dryer eehhh. I guess its ok. I dont like that the nozzel gets so tiny in the front its almost impossible to find any attachments that fit. And I HATE concentrater Nozzels! but i guess if it gets the job done, its ok. But i wouldnt recommend, unless ur styling other people with it.

I couldn't belive how good it made my hair look. the first time i used it my sister and her bf slept over and i made everybody in the house touch my hair! It got soooo soft!

It is hot, fast and dryies your hair in half the time with no split ends and doesn't fry my hair. Perfect with a good brush ...super ionic great for the price. Love it!!!!

I bought my solia hairdryer in March 2008 and it stopped working one month ago. (started dying in the middle of dries then eventually would not turn on.) I am so disappointed that it did not last long AT ALL for the price I paid. Even in the past, my $20 hairdryers have held up for 3-4 years before dying. I also thought it was very cheaply made. The plastic on it just looks cheap and thrown together. I have no idea how to get my money back and have already purchased a FHI hairdryer instead. I liked the power of the dryer but want one that will LAST. I hope this one works much better!
This dryer stopped working after 2 weeks

I purchased this after reading all the reviews, but I didn't expect it to stop working after only using it 2-3x week for about 2-3 weeks. It just stopped working on the medium setting. Also, I didn't notice less frizz or straighter hair (which is what I bought it for) but it did dry fast when it worked......I'm returning it.

I have curly hair that I relax every 6 weeks. This blow dryer dries my hair fast and leaves it so so soft. I use this dryer with a round brush and it straightens out my hair, leaving it shiny and bouncy. I have tried a ton of hair tools and can say, anyone who needs a good blow dryer should get this one!!!
Malfunctioning just over a year!

I'm not a hair pro, but I wanted to get a nice dryer. I considered CHI, but this product got such good reviews, I thought I'd go with it. Well, I've loved it until recently... I've had it just over a year and I only use it for 5 minutes at a time 2-3 days a week. So, it hasn't been heavily used, yet the switch that controls the strength of the air now has to be HELD down during use to stay on the higher setting.

I ordered this dryer and it was broken when I received it. I returned it and the second one was also broken. I will order a Sedu instead this time.
Dryes hair very well, but unreliable

I bought the Solia blowdryer 2 years ago. It has worked fairly well, but the blowdryer is faulty and so sometimes it just woould not turn on. I believe it is just a faulty electrical connection inside, but won't attempt to open and fix it. It now stopped working permanently (right at the 2 yr mark).
I would recommend it, but it does seem to need the 2-yr warranty. The blow dryer is good, dries my hair fast. I did prefer a Babyliss that I had bought as a back up at a discount store but that one died in less than 6 months, so I'm not bying it again. It did work better than the Solia, but they are all very good.

This dryer is great when you first get it, but I've had it now for 2 years, and now it doesn't really dry the same on the highest setting. I have to constantly push the hot air button to get it to heat. Plus, I always thought it was a bit heavy. I think there are more reliable hairdryers out there.

Great hair dryer but mine stopped working in about 10 months. The speed button wouldn't stay on high speed...which I definitely need! Then I took the cover off to see if the button was just stuck and then when I turned it back on it started to smoke! Also, my friend's started smoking the first time she used it! Don't waste your money get a different brand
great!!

This dryer is by far the best I have ever had. I have long thick curly hair that is frizzy. This dryer made it straighter with more volume. It dried in half the time.
Good Dryer, But Stops Working After A Year

I actually really loved this hair dryer. But as a lot of people have mentioned, after about a year and a half, the low speed stopped working for me. And now, some days it takes forever for me to get the thing to turn on at all.
If you're willing to spend this kind of money on something that only lasts a year, go for it. It is a good hair dryer. Otherwise, choose another brand.
Great for frizzy hair

I have been using this dryer for about 6 months and I have seen an improvement in my hair. Someone even commented that my hair looks shinier - that's because this dryer tames the frizz, even in the Texas heat and humidity. It is not lightweight but I do not find it difficult to operate. I would recommend to anyone trying to smooth out their hair.
Has anyone else experienced ths???

I bought the Solia two years ago and LOVED it. My hair is straight.. and I liked the volume and the shine that it gave me. It's almost as if it gave me a "weight". My hair felt heavier. I loved it. But, it broke after only a year.. and since then - I've tried three other Solia's.. Same exact dryer.. But, NONE of them worked as well as that first one! I'm terribly disappointed! When I bought that first one two years ago.. I was so happy.. and was going to be be a customer for life. But, I see that even w/ the exact same dryer - it's not working the same. HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS??? It's okay.. But, for what I paid and how well the first one worked.. This one's no good.. and I will probably continue my search.. And this is all very frustrating... ! My hair is long.. and not thin per se.. But, naturally straight. I like volume.. and shine.. Can anyone suggest a good dryer??? This whole trial and error thing is getting very expensive and time-consuming!
SUCKED!!!!

This blow dryer is no good. I bought it so that I can get rid of my conair blow dryer but it worked just as poor. I am transitioning from relaxed to natural hair and it did not give my hair bounce nor shine. I am sending it back!!

I love this dryer! I just got it today and I used it just once and just WOW! I have never had a professional dryer before, just store bought Conair. Well Conair no more. It tamed my hair so much and made my hair so soft! I have been so sick of when my hair is so poofy after drying it that I have to straighten I dont feel like straightening my hair every day. But I believe that I have now found an awesome hair dryer that will make my hair so smooth that I dont have to use the straightener everyday! YAH!
I think I'm in love

So I just got this yesterday and have only used it once - so I can't speak for the long term but I'm extremely happy with this dryer so far.
I bought this when my Chi rocket died an untimely death, as I'd only had the rocket for a little over a year I didn't want to go back to a Chi. With the Chi it took about 50-60 minutes to dry and style my shoulder lenght, fine, but incredibly thick, hair with the dryer, and I still had to use a flat iron (a hai which i also adore) to get all the frizzies.
This morning - 25 minutes to dry and style and I don't need the flat iron. I wouldn't describe my hair as lacking volume at all - I use good brushes so maybe that's why.
Definitely try it!
Great while it lasted.

I bought mine in December of 2007 and was reasonably happy with it. Unfortunately 18 months later it suddenly stopped working on the high setting. The low setting is just not powerful enough to do a good job when trying to dry my hair straight so I'll be replacing it. Probably with a different brand/model. Disappointed it had such a short life span after paying quite a bit for it, but it was good while it lasted.
Not bad

Only thing is... it makes your hair SO FLAT! There was literally NO volume. It has to be the ions, because I use exactly the same technique with any other dryer and I have volume. It you're going for pin straight or have seriously curly or kinky hair, you might have a better result. My hair is curly, but I still like a little more volume. I returned it. So far, like the Super Solano best.
