6 years old and still love it

I have had my solano sapphire iron for 6 years now and I love it the best investment ever don't be fooled by the fake ones on tv you pay more and they don't do what they claim. at least not in the amount of time they say they do. It normally take about 15 min in the am to do all my hair, and three times as long as it does with other brands. I love my solano so much that I'm purchasing a new one to have as a back up so that I'm never with out it since my sisters and friends are always asking to borrow mine.

This is a great iron. I highly advise people NOT to spend money on Flat Irons that you can purchase in your everyday retail stores..they are not worth the money, no matter how low the price. Invest in a Solano and you will most def. get your $$$'s worth. Take it from me...I have hard to tame hair and this is the only Flat Iron that gives me perfectly straight, shiney, and flawless hair!
LOVE IT!

i hate this thing. it pulls out my hair and doesnt even straighten well. it doesnt heat up quickly either. I used to have the infrashine flat iron now that was a straightner. i hate this it leaves my hair frizzy and my hair isnt even frizzy naturally its smooth and just a bit wavy id rather not straighten it that use this!

Having long, thick, curly hair I had searched for a long time for a flat iron that would really straighten my hair. I found it in this flat iron. I had my mine for 6 years and it worked wonderfully until my dog chewed through the cord. I immediatley purchased another one, I cant live without it! Several of my friends had borrowed it from me and ended up going out and purchasing their own. I would recommed this product to anyone!!
Not worth it! (frequent flat iron user)

I don't recommend anyone getting this flat iron, first of all it doesn't have a temperture control setting. So it doesn't get hot enough. I'm use to using the large width flat irons but this one was very difficult to work with, and my hair kept getting caught up between the plates, even with the comb off. But i would not recommend this flat iron to anyone, unless you've only used the store bought flat irons, which suck anyway. That's the only way this would be a better flat iron. Otherwise, spend your money on a better flat iron. One tip, make sure it has a temperture control setting, this really helps.

I recently purchased this flat iron, and came to realize that i wasn't happy with the product. First of all, there's no temperture setting, just an on and off button. My previous flat iron was 2" and i thought the ease of use was okay. This one is rather difficult to use and my hair kept getting caught up in the iron. Overall, i don't recommend this to anyone. I ended up buying another one that works a lot better.
The Best Flat Iron Ever!!!!

I purchased this product in 2000. Uses it twice a week...and still going strong in 2007. Made in Italy..excellent quality.
It plates are in perfect condition, as good as new. The sapphire coating is top quality. No crack or chips. The comb on one end is the best invention EVER! I have long hair to my waist and due to the attached comb and the 2 1/4 in plates, it takes me no more than 10 mins to straighten my hair. Love, love, love this product. It's no wonder it's won so many beauty magazine awards!
Worth the price

I've had this flat iron for five or six years now and it still works wonders. It doesn't get as hot as it did when I first bought it, but that might be a good thing. The one major downfall of this iron is that the plastic sides aren't curved, which means that you really have to watch your ears and neck. I've gotten many a nasty burn when I haven't been careful enough.
If you don't have super long, coarse hair, get the smaller version. This one is gets to be really heavy, but I think the larger plates are an advantage if you have more hair.

ive had this iron for about 2 years and its still working pretty good. I have extremely thick hair, i still have to blow dry a bit first and then iron, but the sapphire makes a difference. it makes my hair alot straighter and keeps the style alot longer. It does get very hot though, and the comb kept ripping my hair so i got rid of the comb part of it. it works better if you use it on dry or damp hair, especially when you have wild curly unruly hair like mine.

i had the infrashine flat iron for 2 years, it was great.I wanted to try something new. This one is good, and it doesnt rip out your hair as much as people say it does.

This iron is a savior. I have used several irons and this one is superior by far. I have very thick hair and it used to take me 45 minutes to straighten my hair. This Solano iron cut my straightening time to 20 min. I love the comb on the iron also. Highly recommend!
This iron sucks!

I am very unhappy with this flat iron. I have purchased SOOO many flat irons...and this one is not that great. It pulls your hair, and it isn't smooth. Even when I removed the detachable comb, it still pulls your hair. I thought with ALLLL the research I did and ALLLL the good reviews I heard that this would be a great flat iron. It sucks!!! Among the flat irons I have purchased, the BION still is the best. I did like the Futura but it loses it's heating ability and breaks apart after a year. All in all, this Solano flat iron SUCKS. I wonder if it is even REAL people writing these reviews! I'm shipping it back today! I'm sooo unhappy with it that this even sucks that I have to PAY for the shipping.

I've had this iron for over 2 and a half years, and it still works great! I've never had a problem with it, and it heats up much faster than irons that I've had in the past. It leaves my hair extremely smooth and shiny, and although it is a bit on the heavy side, you end up getting a work out while doing your hair. It was well worth the money I spent on it.
Excellent Flat Iron

This will be my second Solano Flat Iron and I can't say enough about it. It does not damage your hair and it gets it straight in 1/3 of the time it takes when you buy cheaper products. At first, I was worried about spending so much money but now I can't imagine not having it around. My hair is thick and wavy and this iron straightens it out in a flash! I am ready to purchase the hairdryer now!

This flat iron works okay, it leaves my hair a little frizzy and it takes a little longer to warm up than my old Solana Iron

I have had a Solano flat iron for five years and loved it. One day it quit heating, so I ordered another Solano flat iron. The plates on the new one aren't as smooth as my previous one, and pulled my hair when I straightened it. It also didn't get as hot as my old one. So I had to go over my hair a few times.
I've ordered a different version of the Solano, hoping that this one will be better.
