I admit I've had the flat iron for a number of years, I really was pleased, but there was a loud pop, my shirt was scorched and a flame came out where the cord goes into the flat iron. I am glad it wasn't near my face at the time.I unplugged it after throwing it on the floor. No more flame.

My friend had the straightener and I tried it. I will admit I loved it. It worked very well. I was actually about to buy one and my friend just sent me an email to tell me that this morning hers caught on FIRE!!! She was heading back to do a touch up on a piece of hair and the part where the cord attached to the straightener there was a flame! Luckily, she was able to unplug it before it caused real damage to her house! Beware...

I've had this iron for about two years and its worked okay. Your air will look perfect when your done but then it like frizzes and curves in within ten minutes. It also hurts your hand from the little clamp thing. I dont use the combs though so maybe thats the problem. It still works well though.

I have had the Solano Sapphire hot iron for many years and it works great. The 2.25" width is much easier for me to work with than the narrow ones and the comb allows for more control. I highly reccomend this flat iron.

I have very thick wavy hair. Because this iron is so wide and the plates aren't curved it makes me look like I have 1/3 of the hair I actually have. It makes it so dull. Yeah it works. It'll flatten your hair and leave it completely lifeless and FLAT. There are better irons out there, like the FHI and Kenta which straighten your hair and leave the volume intact.

i love this flat iron. i bought mine 5 years ago and never had one problem. its my first and only flat iron. i bought about 6 more for the ladies in my family and everyone loves it. all have differnt hair types and it works wonders. I have tried other brands that friends have bought but none compare to the solano sapphire. my poor flat iron has just died on me but there is no way im switching to an other brand. It doesnt fry the ends of my hair. after 5 years of using it, it leaves my hair shiny and smooth.

I have very curly hair and i straighten it everyday. I have used several different brands of flat irons before and i never found one that worked good. The last iron i used was the chi it cost about $120 and my hair looked so damaged and it was still puffy, people couldnt even tell that i would straighten my hair. So when i found this online for around $80 i was kind of skeptical because i have never seen an iron that cheap so i wasnt sure how well it would work. I read many reviews before i finally decided to buy and i am so happy i bought it. This is the BEST flat iron i ever used. My hair stays flat all day even if my hair gets wet from rain or snow it still stays flat. My hair looks healthier and its so soft and silky. The true test will be when the summer comes to see if it will stand up the the humidity. But so far it has been wonderful, i have no complaints about the iron at all!!

This is the best flat iron ever. It is better than a Chi. My friend had this one and I used it at her house and I ran home and bought it immediately and had it expressed shipped to my house. It works so well, and makes your hair soft and straight. No more frizzies. It really changes the texture of your hair and it lasts all day. My hair has never looked healthier and straighter. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone and everyone. I could not live without it.

I love my straightener. I have really thick wavy hair and I hate it. I always get great comments when I use it. My sisters would always use it and I just bought one for my friend awhile ago. It's great, I recommend it to EVERYONE!

I have the thickest, most frizziest and curliest hair ever. Basically, it's a big pain to deal with. There are so many ceramic straighteners out there that it's a gamble with your money. After being recommended to this tool, I purchased it and was really happy with it. It gets the job done and leaves my hair straight and silky smooth.
I love it, and would recommend it to someone looking for a decently priced straightener.

omgshh i love this hair straightner i have puffy hair after i wash it and it does wonders for my hair i recommend this to EVERYBODY but it has burned me once when i was styling my bangs so u gotta watch out for that but yeh i love its great it heats up in like 20 seconds if ur reading this u should definetely buy ittt :]

I have naturally straight hair, but I still use my iron everyday to smooth it out and style my bangs. This iron was given to me by my cousin who has very curly and frizzy hair and swore by it. However, because it is a little big she decided to purchase a smaller Solano iron. I think it's amazing though becasue it heats up extremely quick. There isn't a temperature control on it, but it gets very hot so be careful. It has never snagged my hair and it always leaves my hair shiny. I do reccomend you use a heat protectant on your hair before using any iron. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because it's big. But it gets the job done and if you have <b>long</b> curly/frizzy/wavy/or even straigh hair...this is a great iron for the price. =)

I have really thick hair and kept stealing my friends straightener, she had this one. I finially bought my own since i'm headed to college and I LOVE it. My hair doesn't get stuck in at all, unlike the thiner model and It can straighten my hair in even thick chuncks. It even makes it smooth and shiny. Also if you turn it as you get to the end of your hair, it will flip the ends for you.

I purchased this because I was going to Italy and France and also needed a better flat iron. This has been fantastic. No problems in Europe and now I use it regularly and am so pleased. I think it damages hair less because you only need to go over hair one time and the hot temperature works perfectly. My hair is less damaged than lower temperature flat irons. As usual Folica is a great company to do buisness with. (I took the comb off the flat iron because it is easier to use for me)

This straighter is amazinggg !! It is 5 years old and still going strong the only thing is it has a bare wire. I am purchasing another one tomorrow!!!!!! I cant wait!!!!
ps. the reason that its pulling your hair out is because your not doing it right. Your need to flip it over and the comb has to face the ground.

I have had my solano sapphire iron for 6 years now and I love it the best investment ever don't be fooled by the fake ones on tv you pay more and they don't do what they claim. at least not in the amount of time they say they do. It normally take about 15 min in the am to do all my hair, and three times as long as it does with other brands. I love my solano so much that I'm purchasing a new one to have as a back up so that I'm never with out it since my sisters and friends are always asking to borrow mine.

This is a great iron. I highly advise people NOT to spend money on Flat Irons that you can purchase in your everyday retail stores..they are not worth the money, no matter how low the price. Invest in a Solano and you will most def. get your $$$'s worth. Take it from me...I have hard to tame hair and this is the only Flat Iron that gives me perfectly straight, shiney, and flawless hair!

i hate this thing. it pulls out my hair and doesnt even straighten well. it doesnt heat up quickly either. I used to have the infrashine flat iron now that was a straightner. i hate this it leaves my hair frizzy and my hair isnt even frizzy naturally its smooth and just a bit wavy id rather not straighten it that use this!
