I previously owned a Remington flat iron from the local drug store which I didn't like because it took forever to warm up and it still didn't do a great job. However, the Solano iron does an amazing job of keeping my hair straight all day long and I've got some pretty strong waves to deal with. It heats up really quickly so I don't need to think about making sure my flat iron is plugged in ahead of time. It was definitely worth spending the extra money over a cheaper flat iron. You just have to be careful not to burn yourself since it is so hot. I like the smaller diameter to use on my bangs (I have very strong cowlicks there).

I bought this flat iron after using my old roommate's solano flat iron (the wider width one) and loving it. My hair is naturally not very curly, but I sleep with my hair wet, so usually when i get up in the morning, it's a mess. But this flat iron heats up so quickly, and is able to flatten my hair almost instantly. It's great, and I highly recommend it to anyone. Not to mention, it's a pretty good value for the cost, when you compare it to some of the other irons.

This was my second solano flat iron. I was very happy with the first one that I purchased, however, Not 100% with this one. My hair get's caught in it. (OUCH!!!!!!)

I love the way it straightens my hair. I am african american and I have saved at least 10 minutes straightening my hair (and my daughter's). My hair dresser recommended this iron and I do as well!

My Hair stylist advised me to buy this product b/c I have very curly hair and I straighten my hair with a hair dryer. This flat iron, I might add that I have used others in the past, is the best. I was a bit concerned b/c my hair is quite fine and their is no heat control on it but it works fabulously, with no burning or frayed ends. I can run it over a section one time and it is as smoothe as I have ever seen it. I also live in Florida- probably on of the most humid places on earth!! and it keeps my hair as smooth as silk. I would recommend this flat iron to anyone who is looking for straight hair without damage. It is well worth the money!

A friend of mine referred this iron. She said she has tried them all and this one is the best! I have very fine sraight hair with tons of fly away ends. I love it! My hair is naturally curly and gets very frizzy when the weather is humid. But let me tell you this, I recently went to the place where the humidity level was probably 100% including the mist in the air and nothing, I mean nothing happened to my hair. It stayed the same way as if I just styled it. This iron rocks! If before I was hating the summer because of the humidity and constant bad hair days that I was having, now I just can't wait for the summer to come, knowing that my hair will always look great regardless of the humidity levels. This is my 2nd purchase from folica, and the service was very convenient and problem free. Both of my purchases were for the Solano sapphire flat irons, (2 1/4 size, and 1 3/8 size). I have had the 2 1/4 size for over a year and use it religiously, as well as my friends. It straightens and shines every hair type i've tried it on, and it STAYS straight and frizz free. It doesn't even damage my hair or dry it out. I bought the 1 3/8 size for traveling, and was afraid it may not work the same as the larger one, but to be honest, you can't tell the difference. I will not buy any other flat iron besides Solano sapphires, nothing I have used in the past (even at salons) has worked as well.

this straightener is unreal. I use it almost everyday and only have to go over my hair like once for it to be straight...only complaint is that u can burn ur self easily..and i left it on my dresser while i was parting my hair and it left burn marks. but the straightening is great.

I have very thick wavy hair. I had the 2inch wide Solano Sapphire straightener a year or so ago and I loved it. I used it so much though that the rubber casing around the cord came off and the wiring came apart. In the meantime, I have tried buying cheaper hair straighteners, however, they do not work nearly as well and they break very quickly. I just purchased the 1 3/8" Solano Sapphire straightener and it does such a good job on my difficult hair. My only complaint is that the product does not have an automatic timed turn-off capability like some of the cheaper ones I have used.

I purchased this iron because INStyle Magazine had featured it in its annual "Top Beauty Buys" issue. I have had my Solano for 3 years and I've never had any problems with it. It heats quickly, glides through my thick, coarse, long hair, and leaves my hair shiny. I, personally, like the comb feature because it helps to clamp the hair and pull it straight as you go. My one concern is that the super-high heat may be the cause of all my split ends and hair breakage. I am considering trying a ceramic iron to see if they really are better.

I've tried many of the cheaper flat irons you can find in regular stores and none have worked as well as the Solano Sapphire. I've tried a friend's 2-1/4" Sapphire and found that it was too large to manuever. The 1-3/8" is much easier to handle and works just as well. Folica's service was also great. They said the iron would ship in 4-6 days and it actually arrived the next day. I will definitely be using Folica again.

Its the greatest straightener in the world! All my friends went and bought the straightener after they tried mine. It straightens your hair REALLY good, it calms the frizz, and makes your hair shiny. Go get one!

I bought this iron 5 years ago and have used it everyday. I've worn it out so much that now I'm ready for a new one. I bought a couple other brands but quickly returned them. This is the one for me. I've recommended it to everyone for the last few years and many friends have bought it and loved it. Plus this width is much better than the heavier wider one.

I have had this iron for more than a year and nothing has gone wrong with it, it always heats evenly, and my hair is shiny when I use it. I was afraid that I should be getting something new because I have seen all of the fancy irons that are out now. But the Solano has consistently worked, with no problems, so I am sticking with it for now.

wow I just got this straightener today and I used it as soon as it arrived and I am amazed with the results! i cant stop looking in the mirror or touching my hair. I highly reccomend this product!!

I just received my Solano today and as soon as I got it I tried it out and it worked great. Before I had been using a conair that never hardly kept my hair straight but I was amazed at how fast and easy the Solano straightned my hair.

I purchased this flat iron a few years ago, and although it has lasted, it pulls out my hair constantly. Also its heavy and takes a while to heat up. It does not straighten too well, you have to go over your hair alot to smooth it. I just bought the sedu ceramic iron and its wonderful!! Do not waste your money on this iron!
