This is my second straightener! I love it! I have had a Chi, but like this one much better. My hair is very thick and wavy, but you don't know it after I use the straightener.

i love my salono sapphire it's actually my third one! the first i bought was a bit out dated so i upgraded to the newer version... My second one broke but due to fall.. Other then that this straightener is excellent to my your hair super straight and extra shinybut over use can cause A LOT of damage!

I had the solano flat iron years ago, and somehow lost it...I saw it on your website and bought it again. I love it!!!! It makes my hair so straight and shiny. I really like the comb along side of the plate, it totally gives me the look I was looking for. It doesn't make your hair look stringy like some other flat irons do either. I absolutely love this flat iron!!

Funny that I got a request to review this product that I purchased one year ago, as it just broke two days ago. The push down handle snapped off and the clamp wouldn't close.
Wider model is better!

I have the wider model (love it) and have been using it for 3 years and decided to try out this model now. Although this model is thinner and lighter, the scissor mechanism is a little bit ackward and if your hair is layered hard to straighten as your reach the end of the strands. If trying to decide between the thicker model and this one, I would get the thick one!

This is the best flat iron around. My hair looks like my hairdresser does it everyday. I get so many compliments on my hair these days. Now I know why it is always on backorder, because it is Great!!!

I bought this flat iron about a month ago, and I absolutely love it! It works wonderfully, and was decently priced. It's small plates make it ideal for travel. The only downside is that unless your hair is very thick (like mine) it could fry and damage hair.

After years of trying to get my hair straight with other tools, this is the one. It works so well, I bought one for my sister. The best part is, it doesn't dry out your hair or make it look distressed. But I also use a heat styling product prior to using so I think this helps. This definitely makes straightening my hair a quick, easy process!

I have owned the wider model of this brand and found it to be fantastic. However this model while it straightens well, takes chunks out of my hair. The end of the "scissor" mechanism pulls the hair if you're not extremely careful and when it does, we're not talking one or two hairs, we're talking chunks of hair!
I would recommend to have as an extra for trips because of the size but definitely not for every day use

I've always been a little afraid of straighteners - specifically that they would fry my hair and leave it looking like straw. My only other experience was to briefly use a very cheap model for about a week before giving up on it. I've heard great things about the Solano, so I decided that if I were going to try to straighten again, it was worth buying the right tool.
I've been using the iron now for about three weeks, and I've loved the results. With very little effort, my hair becomes shiny and straight for just the look I want, and the look has a lot of staying power. This is especially a challenge in Georgia, where the humidity in August is stifling.

There have a been a few negative comments about this flat iron but I'm here to tell you that this is one of the best flat irons out there. The only reason why this product will ever pull your hair or make it feel dried out, is if (1) you did not put in a leave in conditoner like Thermasilk or (2) You're not taking your time...for example, doing big chunks of hair at a time or (3) your hair is wet/damp/not completely dry.
I've been using the Solano Sapphire Flat Iron for the last 5+ years and I absolutely adore it! It has always been good to me and the best part about it, it has a comb! Unlike the 'newer' flat irons, the solano comes w/ a built in comb that helps guide the hair through the iron. It is very helpful if you have long, thick, coarse hair, like me..haha. That alone is fantastic! Makes flat ironing a breeze....I love it!

I have previously owned several other hair irons (and although they were less expensive) they could not even compete in performance with the sapphire. My hair is typically frizzy and slightly curly when I let it air dry, and it takes me about 10 minutes with this iron to get it perfect. I have had so many compliments on my hair's sheen and softness. Definately buy this straightener it is worth the money!
Everyone should own one!

As a professional hair stylist for over 10 years, this is the number one item i never leave home without! I had my first sapphire for over 7 years of alost daily use and I work 10 and 12 hour days. The only reason i had to replace it was because i dropped it and cracked it in half. I almost want to have a service for it because it helped me make so much money for so long. There are some changes from smurfette (that was her name) to my new one but mainly for the better. Much lighter and the on/off switch is great as well. Thats all. ok well i used to use thoose cheap 20 dollar flat iron and whe i was done my hair would be straight but it would look fried and i could have used a 50 dollar shampoo but that didn't matter when i use this product i really like the comb it makes straghtening my hair a lot easier and faster. MY hair comes out nice shiny and healthy so that's pretty much about it.. oh ya the only thing i don't like about it ...it when you get out of the shower and blow dry your hair you have to wait about 20 minutes before using the flat iron because the texture it all funky but i guess that would happen with any flat iron.. butI LOVE MY SOLANO BLUE SAPHIRE FLAT IRON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I previously owned a Remington flat iron from the local drug store which I didn't like because it took forever to warm up and it still didn't do a great job. However, the Solano iron does an amazing job of keeping my hair straight all day long and I've got some pretty strong waves to deal with. It heats up really quickly so I don't need to think about making sure my flat iron is plugged in ahead of time. It was definitely worth spending the extra money over a cheaper flat iron. You just have to be careful not to burn yourself since it is so hot. I like the smaller diameter to use on my bangs (I have very strong cowlicks there).

I bought this flat iron after using my old roommate's solano flat iron (the wider width one) and loving it. My hair is naturally not very curly, but I sleep with my hair wet, so usually when i get up in the morning, it's a mess. But this flat iron heats up so quickly, and is able to flatten my hair almost instantly. It's great, and I highly recommend it to anyone. Not to mention, it's a pretty good value for the cost, when you compare it to some of the other irons.

This was my second solano flat iron. I was very happy with the first one that I purchased, however, Not 100% with this one. My hair get's caught in it. (OUCH!!!!!!)

I love the way it straightens my hair. I am african american and I have saved at least 10 minutes straightening my hair (and my daughter's). My hair dresser recommended this iron and I do as well!
