I just finally figured out how to use it right, I blow dry my hair first, then I use the TIGI After Party, then I flat iron it and it looks so smooth and doesn't even get frizzy through the day like it usually did! I love it! I love Folica!!
Doesn't do what it claims to do....

The regular Solano hair iron was my first hair iron and I loved it. (I have since purchased a HAI iron and Solia iron and I LOVE them and can't live without them!). However, since the Solano was so reliable the first time around, I figured that the configuration of the beveled convex/concave Solano flat iron would be the perfect tool to straighten my hair, while flipping out or curling under the ends of my hair. Upon using it I found the following:
- ***did not flip out and/or curl under the ends of my hair- like it claims to do
- it did, however, straighten my hair (although it was not easy....)
- my hair broke in it because it kept on getting stuck in the comb/iron
- even when removing the comb, my hair broke and got caught in the iron
- it was very heavy (unlike the Solia & HAI irons)
- OVERALL- VERY UNSATISFIED WITH THIS PRODUCT

I am very pleased with the Solano product. Unfortunately, the size flat iron is too big. Looking for the narrow Solano Beveled Convex-Concave Iron.
The Beveled Convex-Concave style adds a little curl to the end without fraying the edges. The 2 1/4 size is bulky to handle, but it gets the job done!

I purchased this flat iron about 1 1/2 years ago. First I would like to say that Folica got this to me the next day!! Secondly, this flat iron is the BEST. For the past year and a half I have gotten compliments on my hair. My hair is naturally, course and curly, but a few minutes with my Solano and it is straight and shiny. I have a friend who has tried every straight iron out there and I let her borrow mine and she said it worked the best and she bought one.

This straightener has one major flaw: hair gets caught in the hinge and breaks. It hurts and it tears your hair, which makes it look unhealthy. Other than that (which you can avoid by keeping the strands far from the hinge), this is a great straightener. My hair feels so much more healthy with this straightener than with my old hot tools one (not ceramic). The idea product would be this same model but in a V shape instead of an X shape.

I even had this Straightner for over 4 yrs. And it is the best out there. OVer the counter straightners dont work as well. So go ahead and buy this straighner, you woont regret. Good Luck.

I've had my solano for about a year now and it's definitely not as good as it used to be. I've talked to a lot of my friends that have the same one and they agree that it doesn't hold up so well. I have very curly long hair and I frequently straighten it so i need something that i can depend on. I recently bought a Chi which i LOVE and would recommend as well. the hot tools products work well too. if u cant tell i work at a salon ;)
NOT a good choice!

This hair straightener must have been the heaviest I have ever come across, and not only does it hurt my hand, it does nothing for my hair! I strongly reccommend the wigo collection (prefferably 2" or over) for thicker, but fragile, medium length to long hair.Hot tools isn't bad either. Salono is more expensive than both of these brands and does about half as well of a job! Don't waste your time or your money.
