I bought this flat iron 3 days ago.
IT IS THE BEST FLAT IRON I'VE EVER HAD.
It heats up fast, and it makes my hair as straight as ever.
I have frizzy, naturally curly hair,
and it makes it as smooth as silk.
I would DEFINITELY recommend this to others!
NOT a flat iron to curl hair!

I have fine/thin hair. There is a lot of friction when trying to curl my hair. It just feels like something is grabbing my hair and I can't get the strand to slide through smoothly. I wouldn't waste your money, just go for one that cost more and that can do the job.

So I'm one of those people who usually gets my hair styling products at WalMart. You may have realized yourself that this is pretty much a waste of money. Every straightener that I have bought from there eventually (after about 3 months) loses its heat and doesn't work.
This straightener, however, is a great price and great value. I bought it with the pouch and LOVE the heat-proof pouch. I travel all the time and it's great to be able to throw it in the pouch and not worry about it melting my stuff.
The straightener itself works great and I've never had any problems with it working or the heat settings.
If you're looking for a great value but don't want to spend upwards of $50-150, buy this straightener.
Wow, for the price, this is exceptional!!!!

I decided to purchase this flat iron based on the fact that it is a ceramic tourmaline flat iron and is soo much cheaper than some of the leading brands. And for me the most important part is that my flat iron has ceramic and tourmaline in it so that my hair has added protection from the heat. Also, what sold me on this is once I actually used it, I had it set on 250 degrees and it straightened my hair beautifully!! Mind you, I have 4 a/b type hair and never thought a hair straightening tool would straighten my hair at such a low degree. It really is worth the money and does not pull out my hair either. I love this flat iron:)
Good buy

This flat iron works really well. I am mixed (mostly black) with naturally curly hair, that is the curliest at the roots. Because of the 1 1/4 inch size, this flat iron is good for getting close to your roots and straightening them.
I love that this iron can get to 450 degrees in 30 seconds, and also the way that it cools down quickly once it is plugged out.
If you are thinking about getting this iron, don't hesitate because it works really well and has a great price. At $30, how can u go wrong?
it rocks!

this straightener is just as good, if not better, than the CHI. It takes me about 10 minutes to straighten in the morning (my hair is very thick and plenty) and it works great every time!
Pretty good iron

This is my first iron, so i can't really compare but I like it, and it's cheap too.
I manage to get my long curls straight in 20 minutes or so, and like the fact that with a wrist movement i give my hair some curve and volume so it's not straight unnatural flat.
Great Straightener

I LOVE this straightener. I've had it for nearly 4 months and it's still working just fine. My hair is very curly and frizzy naturally. I've tried a few different Conair straighteners but they only straighten my hair half way and leaves it poofy. This straightener keeps your hair smooth and straight all day. My hair hardly frizzes when there's moisture in the air. It also cuts the time in half. The only problem that I have with it is that I've recently started getting split ends. If you would sacrifice getting a hair trim every few months for amazingly straight hair this is the straightener for you@!
Amazing Iron!!!!!!!!!

The Silk 2 Flat Iron has a whole lot of bang for it's bucks. I had the opportunity to us this iron and was blown away at it's ease of use and the shine and smoothness it gave the hair. I really did not want to spend $149.00 for a Chi. A friend mentioned the Silk2 flat Iron-I'm so glad she did. It's great!!!!!
its AWESOME

This is my first time getting a straightener and i guess i choice a good one! I'm chinese and I hav thick, frizzy, and wavy hair and has a bit static and i rly didnt like it. Then my friend offered me 2 use her straighter but it was metalic and its okay but she showed me this website and we found this straightener so I ordered it. When I washed my hair and the next morning I used it, it was sooo perfect! I was rly happy bout it. A lot of people liked my new straight hair that goes inwards on the bottom. So I do recommend this straightener to many people with thick and frizzy hair. Not only that, its good yet cheap!

About four years ago I bought one of those clunky 2-1/2" hair straighteners, two years ago it died, and I bought the same exact one from this site for $15. It died a few months ago, so naturally when in need, i searched folica.com. I found this flat iron, it looked nice and had decent reviews so I bought it. (I actually got in the mail just today, and just did my hair) A few days ago I went to a friends house and straightened my hair with her chi. I'm very pleased to say this product had almost identical results. This product left my hair silky smooth, and stick straight, yet not flat. My hair has volume but not frizzies and fly aways. I travel, play sports and am always on the go, so if it breaks its not like I'm wasting $200 on a chi. It's super light weight and compact and it heats up and cools down quicky. For $40 this was definitely a good investment, and folica.com will always have my business.
Only for the most stick-like, long, straight hair.

I wanted a decent flat iron just for use on my bangs, because I leave the rest of my hair naturally curly. The reviews on the product looked pretty good, so I went ahead and bought it. Big mistake. This is the WORST POSSIBLE IRON for BANGS. When I straighten them, they stick out straight, at a 45 degree angle to my forehead. Also, the iron causes decent heat damage. I've tried a lower heat setting, and when I do that, the tool isn't hot enough to iron out all the kinks. Also, the iron is "frictiony." It doesn't run through hair smoothly. I don't know what the other reviewers for this product were thinking when they gave it five stars. I wish I could get my 40 bucks back.
Overall, I would recommend this straightener only to people with LONGER hair who want unnaturally stick straight, heat damaged hair.

I love it!!!! I have long, curly hair that frizzes at the slightest notion of moisture in the air. The iron does a fabulous job of straightening AND, somehow seals the hairshaft down- helping the hair to remain frizz-free even during the rainy season. AMAZING!!!! And, my hair stays in great condition- I can't give this product enough kudos. Buy it- you will love it!
Silk 2 Ceramic 1-1/4"

I bought this less expensive flatiron to keep in my gym bag (I have a Solia at home). I've had the flatiron a few weeks now and it's smaller at 1-1/4" versus my 1-3/4" Solia. The flatiron seems fine, is easy to hold and heats up quickly to 450 if needed. The 1-1/4" plates make it easier to do flips and curls also. Even though it's a ceramic tourmaline flatiron, I notice it pulls my hair at the ends sometimes and isn't as nice as my more expensive Solia but it's fine for a quick fix.

Extreemly Pleased! I have very curly hair and have tried other flat irons and not had good results, I either got the frizzies or poofies. With this flat iron, my hair is smooth, silky above all healthy looking, I am very pleased with it. I get so many compliments. It heats quickly and is easy to use. Kudos to this company for a great product!
Great and works well on long thick hair

I was wavering about whether to purchase the Silk 2 flat iron at first because it was indicated the flat iron was for short to medium hair. I didn't realize that this was the same flat iron my hair stylist uses until I received it. The iron works great and gives me the same look as if I had just walked out of a hair salon. I have very thick hair, it falls about 3 inches below the bra strap, and it's some what course. The Silk 2 flat iron works great, but I'm curious as to how it would work on hair as thick and course as mine but has not been chemically straightened (if you haven't done this, I strongly recommend it. It will cut flat iron use down from 45 minutes to about 10 minutes.).
Great iron (used to have a chi)

I'd never heard of ceramic flat irons until a friend told me about them. I did some research and bought this iron. This iron exceeded my expectations. I'm African American and I can make my hair extremely curly or perfectly straight with this iron. It's worth it. I received so many compliments on my hair the first time I used this - even from men. It's light-weight and my hair feels and looks so healthy. Furthermore, my hair holds the style much longer than it ever has.
