I have taken shen min for almost 4 months now and have seen zero results. I plan on taking it another few months to give it a chance and will update if things change.

It does take at least a yr to see improvement but I only take it once a day. I have been so surprised, that I will now take 2/day. I use it with rogaine and my temples have filled back in and my hair is definitely thicker. It is softer and as an African American, it has loosened my curls so that my hair looks like I have a chemical process in it. I don't! I finally love my hair. It doesn't grow quicker, but it's no longer falling out! BE PATIENT, it actually helps in one way or another.

I took this product for approx a month. I didnt follow the exact instructions to where you take 2 pills a day. I just took one a day on an empty stomach. Which they do say that on the bottle to take the pills on an empty stomach. Anyways after a month of taking these lil things. I find that it made my situation WORSE. My hair started falling out more than what it was already. I can run my hands through my hair and feel how much thinner it feels now. Within a week a had a HUGE hairball from all the shedding hairs. I wouldnt swear to this but this pill has some sideeffects like depression, loss of sex drive.. Id save your money and what hair you have left do not buy this!!

I started losing my hair at the crown and top of my head at about 34 years of age, in 1994. The loss led to large bald spot at the top of my head followed by receding hair line in front and just a tuft of hair in the center front. I was able to avert the hair loss using a botanical scalp treating shampoo and conditioner, but the majority of the top of my head remained bald with only light peach fuzz and blonde juvenile shoots. In May of 2007 I started using the Shen Min DHT Blocker. By the end of June it was clear that new growth was arriving; not just in thin blonde peach fuzz, but long shafted mature hair. Even with the hot and sweaty conditions of my job thru the summer, it became obvious that the shedding phase had stopped, and the growing phase of the hairs lying dormant in my scalp for over ten years was thriving! The new growth thru the fall and winter has increased, and the density of the hairs growing in my "bald spot" continues to increase. It's almost a daily phenomenon to look at my head with a mirror and watch the new hairs not only come in, but come in strong and now at the same dark brown color as the rest of the head. I'm in my ninth bottle of the more potent 325mg. blend, and would like to say to those skeptical, to give this alot of time. It takes years to grow 'bald' as people recognize you, why shouldn't it take as long to grow back? However, as with any nutracuetical, the effectiveness of a product is determined by your body's personal toxicity level, which can hinder the absorption of any nutrient into the bloodstream via the colon. Consider altering your diet to whole food supplememts, increasing dietary fiber to assist removal of toxins, take a liquid plant sourced mineral and vitamin supplement to effect a synergy with the Fo-ti herb and enhance absorption and accelerate results. I will stick with this product for as many months or years as it takes to regrow every last hair that disappeared, and then if Shen Min is still in business, continue to use this product for the many other therapeutic benefits of the tree root, which Hasn't even been touched on yet! I have photos, but don't have the time and savvy to upload them to you. Thank-you so much for providing a product from the wisdom of the Japanese that is changing my life, and making me look younger every day!

Well I was using Shenmin for more then 5 month and it didn;t have any affect on my hair like peple have claim.
It didn;t go soft, or shiny. My hair was like that already due to thining. But I think it might have slow it abit.
But I'm using minoxdyl once a night, procerin, and order He Shou Wu directly from the chinese herb.
It's been over 1.5 month and I'm starting to see some new hair growing in my bald spot and my frontal hair line.
Nothing have ever grown in these area for alomst several year now. I was norwood, 2a going to 3.
Now I'm starting to see some new hair, but I haven't grown it long to see if it will.
I will post again in 3-4 month time to tell you all, wether these new hair in the bald spot are growing like normal healthy hair

I bought this item to test out whether it works, and as of right now i don't really see much of a change. Although the bottled did say take 3 months of treatment to see results, with the pricing of one month's supply (1 container) I really don't think I'm willing to risk that much money for something that hardly showed even the slightest result of improvement. So try at your own risk.

I have been taking this product for three months now and it has really made a huge difference in my hair. I am 45 and my hair was thining and had a lot of gray. I had always had thin hair growing up. After two months my hair was thicker and has more body. My hair dresser even commented that he couldn't believe how fast my hair is growing. I use to get my hair cut about every 6 weeks but now have to go every 4 weeks. I have had other people comment on how good my hair looks. I am very happy and will continue to use Shen Min forever.

I don't have much problem with baldness or
graying of my hair, but my whiskers were
becomming noticeably white. With my third
bottle of Shin Min I can definintely tell
a restoration of lost color.
Unfortunately, I have no unshaven photo
from before. I do hope that the restoration
process continues; I don't know how long it
will last after discontinuation of use.
Still, I must say that results were definite,
with 30% of a 50% discolored beard returned to
black half-way through the 3rd bottle.

Hi all - I've been using Shen Min for about 4 years. I agree with others that while it initally thickens/improves exising folicles, it does not grow new hair. For me, it certainly delayed/defered greying and let's you better hold onto the hair that you have!
One other observation - since I started this product, I haven't had a single cold sore occurence of any consequence. Prior to using the product I had 1-2 nasty cold sore occurences per year (on lower nose/lips) with a 7-10 day recover time. Since I've started this product i'm basically cold-sore free. Not sure if its the folate, but I'm happy with the product and a committed customer.
One last caveat - benefit seems to level off after about 2 years - haven't seen any significant improvement (but no worsening other that which comes with age) since using it.
No sexual side affects whatsoever!
I would recommend trying the product.

I just used NuHair for 3 weeks and my hairs seem to be a little bit thicker. I will try it for a few more weeks and see what will happen. My one concern for this product is how it will affect my liver and kidney.

18 months ago I started using a recommended shampoo along with Rogain, little change was noted. 8 months I started using Shin-men (1 tablet per day) in conjunction with the above listed and have experienced great results, my hair has regrown and it looks great and my wife loves it. Thank you for a great product. I am 53, with the hair of or a 30 year old. I have recommended Shin-men to my hair stylist and many of my close friends. Thanks again, Cole.

I tried Shen Min for men for 60 days. It did absolutely nothing in either thickening the hair, giving more body or growing hair.
Waste of money, and of course there is no money back guarantee.
SAve you money folk.

The Shen Min formula will work best for people whose hair is thinning; it will not grow new hair. The hair you have will fall out less, and it will get longer and stronger.
And that means hair *everywhere* you have hair, so take that as a caveat.
I have not noticed any change in color.
Drinking extra water, especially with the pills, is recommended, as is increasing blood circulation to your head via exercise, yoga, or an inversion table.
Until they clone hair cells, the best those of us with thinning hair and slight baldness can do is keep what we have healthy, and a steady regimen of Shen Min, I believe, is helping me. Depending on your metabolism and overall condition, you may need 90 days or longer to see any effect, but other people may see changes in a few weeks.

its been a month now of taking shenmin. i am african so this may not apply to all hair types. anyways, this is the summary of what this shen min has done to may hair so far:
1. it regrew my sides (temples, whatever you wanna call it)
2. my hair is getting super black, you'd think i dyed it.
3. my hair is super soft; this is the greatest benefit shenmin has given me (apart from the 4th one). it feels as if i'm just from washing and patting it dry, that soft! this is not what i had in mind when i was buying this product, but thank God/nature for this quality. everytime i touch my hair, i for a quick second, forget its mine, since from childhood its always been hard.
4. yes, i do use propecia (proscar split into 4 tablets, God bless my doctor for prescribing me this cheap alternative; propecia was just too expensive; my doctor even suggested the proscar; i didn't have to beg him or do those stupid blood tests, by the way). well, this product(proscar), has helped keep my hair and after 7 months it regrow some as well (proscar). BUT it never regrew my tepmples/sides. shen min, has started regrowing my temples. maybe its coz i'm using them both;
they should make shen min cheaper though, or i'll fly to china and get my own he show vu or whatever they call it there.
now've i've paid my dues. i've given back what was given me. i hope this helps out others as well because i learned about this product on this page before i bought it; from your reviews.

I have been using Shen Min for around 7 years. I use it in conjunction with Minoxidil and Propecia (prescription). Although Shen Min doesn't help grow hair, the combination of the 3 have worked to grow hair back (of course not the full head of hair I had when I was 18). The best benefit of Shen Min is that it makes my hair soft and shiney. I started taking Propecia and Minoxidil when I was in my early 30's. I was starting to lose my hair (male pattern baldness). I am now 44 and have the same amount of hair that I had at 31... I believe this is due to the 3 treatments I have been using over the years...

I've been using Shen Min for men for almost a year and it absolutly does work for me. My hair was becoming "salt & pepper". The gray hairs changed from brittle and unmanagable to soft and fluffy. My un-gray hair has become a lighter brown as when I was a teenager. As the instructions state, you need to use it for at least 3-4 months. I take one in the morning and one in the evening. It happens slowly. After about three months the woman who cuts my hair said: what happened to your hair? I said what do you mean? She said it has become soft and fluffy. I also follow and use a host of natural supplements and as far as I can discern every ingredient is natural and healthy. I don't work for the company, but will recommend a good product that works when it comes my way.
