Sedu Ultrasilent Dryer

Significantly quieter than my last hair dryer (a Connair) but a little heavier in weight. Very easy to hold - good shape & size. The heat adjustment buttons are easy to press by mistake while drying but I am happy with it overall, particularly because of its low volume.

Curly hair snags

I think this hairdryer drys as fast as the Chi brand, which I also own. The only drawback I have found is the following: I have medium length curly hair. When I turn my head upsidedown to dry with the defuser, my hair gets stuck and pulled into the plastic logo on the side if the hairdryer almost everytime I use it. Go figure...

This hairdryer is by far the best I have ever used. Ok don't be fooled by the name "ultrasilent" Its not. BUT its definitely less noisy compared to all the others. Besides, it cuts drying time in half. no lie. I would definitely buy again.

The second time I used this product it died. I think it was the motor. It would not turn on and started smelling like smoke. I have shoulder length slightly wavy hair. It's not like I have a ton of thick hair even. I used it for maybe 5 minutes both times. I promptly returned it.
Sedu products are excellent!

I am extremely happy with this purchase. My hair feels softer and healthier than when I used the cheap blow dryers. I would recommend this blow dryer to anyone who wants to keep their hair as healthy as possible during the day to day styling routine.

I can't believe that it took me this long to find this blowdryer. I can't live without it. It is by far the best ever. Dries hair quickly, controls are great, so light weight. Simply the best out there. Don't even waste your time looking for others like I did. Just get it!!!

I did not find this dryer to be any better than the Clairol ceramic/ionic dryer I have. I found my hair to have more static and did not notice it dried any faster. Not worth the money.

The Best I have Used So Far

I decided to look for a new blow dryer when our cheapo revlon one blew out 2 pieces of hard plastic through the nozzle and almost hit my daughter in the eye. I got a sedu flat iron last month and was very impressed with it, and I thought I had remembered seeing the sedu blow dryers, so I came on this site and did some research on both dryers to figure out which would be best for me. I definately wanted somthing light and something quiet, so I decided to go with this model. When I got it I was surprised that for all the money I shelled out the packaging for it was so ugly. I thought it would come in some fance box, but whatever, how it works is what counts, right?? OK, now maybe its just me being used to my cheap revlon dryer which was the same size as the sedu and very light, but this thing seemed to weigh down on my arms and make them sore! Ok, maybe I am a wimp, but I was glad I got this one because with the other Sedu dryer I probably would have pulled a muscle! Definately NOT the lightest hair dryer I have ever used, but not the heaviest either. The next thing I realized was it was a little awkward to hold because of the placing of the buttons. The cool shot button is not "popped" out like most are, but is even with the rest of the dryer so you have to jam your finger down into this hole to get the cool shot to work. That is defintely something they will need to work on if they come out with a new model. It is also not "ultrasilent", but its not very noisy at all. Those things being said, I usually have an afro after I am dong blow drying my hair (I am white) and after using this my afro was only half as big. It also took a few mins off my drying time. The thing I was most impressed with though, was that I didnt have to run my flat iron over my hair as much, because the dryer seemed to make it straighter and less frizzy, which was great. Also, I know some people have complained about the dryer "blowing too hard" but I love it. The air output on this baby is AMAZING! I have never seen anything like it! The condition of my hair has seemed to be improving also. So the price is pretty expensive, but I think it will end up lasting me a long time so it will be worth it in the long run.
Very nice, but blows too hard

I spent a lot of time doing research on finding a better dryer than my drugstore brand. It took a lot for me to spend over $100 on a dryer, but given the fact that I think you get what you pay for, I thought it was a wise investment in better hair health. The Sedu Ultrasilent dryer is very sleek looking and fairly lightweight. I have to agree with another's comments that the cool button is a little awkward to use. If you have long nails, it's hard to press because it's flush with the actual body of the dryer. It would've been much better in design had the button been raised. My order came with the free diffuser attachment. I'm really glad it did because the real complaint I have with this dryer is that it blows way too hard, even on the lowest setting. My hair is medium in thickness, very straight and fine. In trying to style it with a round brush, the lowest setting blows my hair all over the place. The diffuser helps, but makes it clunky to hold and does not afford me the ability to apply directed heat to whatever part I'm working on. I guess it's just my hair. It just blows too hard, so I was disappointed with that aspect. My hair does feel nice and soft, although I don't notice any faster drying time...probably because I have to use the diffuser.
Worth the Investment

This dryer dries my hair in half the time and with less frizz and I love how quiet it is. I can flip my hair to dry and then smooth out the top without having any friz when I am finished, I could never to that with my conair. It also leaves my hair extremely silky. My hair isn't terribly wavy but it is prone to friz and split ends. I've noticed less of them lately despite lots of hair drying. I can't stop using the dryer!
I was weary of spending too much I always bought the cheapo drug store brands, though they left my hair looking pretty good, I noticed I got a great deal of split ends over time in between hair cuts. I decided to invest in a nice hair drier and take it from el cheapo over here... I am pleased, it is well worth the money. I don't need as many protein treatments to keep my hair soft. I'm sure they are pissed at me at the salon.... my hair looks so good I haven't gone in quite some time...Also, I always feel like a pantene commercial when I am done and I get so many compliments on my hair!! Good luck with your purchases ladies I hope this helps!

I was hesitant to spend so much money on a hairdryer- especially since the one I had was still working. I am SO glad I did! I have had the hairdyer for a week now and my hair looks better every day! It's so silky and shiny. My hair is long and fine and now it looks so smooth and not dried out at all. Trust me, I am not a hair professional, but my hair looks like I've just left the salon after I've dried it. It's so nice to not have to fight with my hair every day anymore. I like the dryer so much I'm going to order one of the Sedu straighteners next. Buy this hairdryer- you won't regret it!
EXCELLENT just like the rest of their products!!

Ok I'm not usually one to do reviews but for Sedu I would do anything right now! :) I've been doing MONTHS of research on the best products for my money because I have extremely fine thin almost baby like hair. Lets just say my mom couldnt get me into a ponytail or anything of the sort til I was about SIX! :) I've ALWAYS had to cut my hair a lot shorter than I wanted because it was so fine and fragile and was always splitting and frizzing. Well a few months ago I decided to do some real research when my mom made her monthly comment during my haircut about how damaged my ends were. So in my search I stumbled upon this site and these forums. Well after seeing the reviews and other peoples excitement I knew I had found what I was looking for! Hands down this is the best hair dryer I have ever seen! It fools you into thinking it will take forever because the heat is so MILD in comparison to anything you are used to but when you are done in less time with silky shiny hair and it helps reduce the time needed to spend styling you will know it does everything you've been hoping for! I must also RAVE about the Sedu flat iron as well! I got the 1" one that allure readers voted for and let me tell you these two things are the best beauty investment I have EVER in my life made! The way my hair looks and feels makes me feel like a million dollars! I dont have to worry so much about the damage either because its not nearly as hot as my old equipment! Hopefully these things will help my hair get to the length I have hoped for all my life! :)
Worth the money!!!

At first I was hesitant to pay $130 for a hair dryer but I love my Sedu Flat Irons (the Nano Revolution and the 1" Flat Iron) and it got such good reviews. I ordered it in February and it was placed on back-order so I waited about a month for it to arrive. I received it yesterday and I tried it this morning with the wide concentrator attachment. It's light and much quieter than conventional hair dryers. It's deceiving because it doesn't get as hot as my Conair hair dryer but it made my hair MUCH straighter and smoother than my Conair ever did. I would have a problem drying the top and back of my head because by the time I dried the sides and front the top and back of my hair would be all frizzy. With the Sedu my hair has so much body and it looks healthy. The top and rear of my head did not frizz so when I got to that part of my hair it blew out smoothly as well and I have a lot of hair and it's wavy and curly. Well worth the money!!!
Fabulous!

This hairdryer is fantastic and worth every penny! I was reluctant to spend so much on a hair dryer, but am so glad I did. My hair looks great and doesn't get dried out like it did with my previous hairdryer. It takes less time to dry my hair. While I still use it occasionally, its no longer necessary for me to use my flattening iron after drying my hair. Also, I don't have any problems with the buttons, they work well right where they are.
Truly a great product!

I would never think to pay over $100 for a dryer, EVER. Let me tell you - over the years, I have found that sometimes you have to pay a little more for a good product, a hairdryer just wasn't on my list of things to improve upon, until now. I really have to say that whatever makes this work amazes me, because everything they say it does, it really does. The power exceeds anything I ever had. I thought the higher the wattage, the quicker it would dry, not true. The Sedu dryer blows out with great power and it is not HOT, so at first you think it doesn't work well, but they are right, my hair is softer, straighter and more manageable. I actually like to dry my hair now..... SPLURGE AND TREAT YOURSELF TO THIS GREAT EXPERIENCE. You won't be sorry!

This is the best hairdryer I have ever used! It is easy to control styling my hair with the various heat settings and air flow speeds, without resulting "flyaways". Yes, it's expensive, but worth every penny. I purchased this based on your customer reviews, and I add my praises to the chorus.

Yes, it works well and I like the attachements, however, I'm not too excited about the fact that I sometimes see a spark w/in the dryer when I flip the switches. I called Folica and they told me that this is normal (I was going to return the item), but it still makes me uncomfortable.
Love this dryer- worth every penny!

I have very fine hair; it is colored and I swim 3 days a week. My hair looks as good as it does after my stylist does it (and I am styling challenged). I don't need my flattening iron and it takes me about 5 minutes to dry my hair. It is lightweight and quiet. I can also sleep on my hairdo, and when I wake up all it needs is a quick brushing to make it presentable. My daughter liked it so much, I checked her bags before she left to make sure she hadn't swiped it! And I love the flexible cord- it doesn't get all tangled up.
