this is the best hairdryer I have very used. It drys my hair in half the time, does not frizz my hair and I have thick heavy frizzy hair, but not anymore! It is worth every cent.

Listen--spending $140 on a hair dryer seems CRAZY with a capital C to me. I have always used the $30 dryer that I could buy at my local Target. Between teasing, hair dye, blowdrying, hairspray, etc, my hair had become a mess. I have very thick, coarse, curly/wavy hair that is just below my shoulders. I had started to notice that the ends of my hair were becoming very straw-like and looked crazy messy. I blow dry my hair 7 days a week without fail and started to question if it was my hair dryer doing this to me.
After reading all of the reviews for this Sedu, I decided to bite the bullet and try it. Worst case scenario it does not work well and I send it back. Well let me tell you--this is not going back at all! I have used it twice now and it has made a world of difference. My hair is shinier, smoother and does not look as frizzy. I just ordered a few good brushes and can't wait to try and do a straight blow dry when they arrive. I am 100% satisfied so far with this product. I hope it lasts a long time---and I plan to buy another one just like it when the time comes.
I can't tell you how nice it is to feel better about my hair. I have always received compliments on my hair when I was younger and that has not happened in a while due to my hair becoming a hot mess over the last few years. I have a feeling I will be getting those compliments again!
If you are on the fence you should try it and like I said before, worst case scenario you send it back.
PS..their flat iron is really good too--I have had that for a while and that is how I decided to start looking at their dryers.

This hair dryer has three heat settings: hot, lukewarm :), and cool. The middle setting is perfect for drying my hair. I don't feel much heat coming out, but on the highest speed setting, it's enough to dry my thick, shoulder-length hair in about 10-15 minutes. Why don't all dryers come with this heat setting? Turns out you don't need all that heat to dry your hair, jut enough airflow. So I'm not worried about damage and now I'm not afraid too wash my hair too often because of blowdryer damage.
It also leaves my hair smooth, frizz-free, and shiny. All this, and I don't even need to use a round brush. I can even blowdry my hair upside down, and when I flip it over, it brushes flat. I don't really understand the technology behind it, but whatever it is, it works. Definitely worth the money, especially if you want to have healthy looking long hair. I was spending all that money on conditioners, when I could've just invested in this up-front. I had to get a haircut shortly after I got it because of all the damage from my previous use of regular hairdryers, drug-store quality ceramic irons, and highlighting/coloring. But, hopefully, with Sedu, I can grow my hair out long once again, and this time I will not be doing any damage to it when I am blowdrying it.
My first picture is after using Sedu, no products, no flat-iron.
My second picture is after using a normal, drugstore hairdryer with products.

Before I purchased the Sedu Ultrapower Hairdryer I was a victim of the cheaper version hairdryers which took forever to dry my hair, became extremely hot and would BURN my hair. A better word would be FRY my hair. I had no idea about high-end hairdryers and the technology. I am Puerto Rican and French, and have naturally curly/dry hair (think Nicole Kidman and Keri Russell curls). The curl is tight and the length is mid-back, it takes over 1 hour just to blowdry. I shopped around and read lots of reviews before I made my purchase. My hairdresser and others kept pushing me towards the Elchim but I wasn't impressed by the features and the reviews. I purchased the Sedu flatiron and love love love it! So when I read the reviews for the Sedu Ultra hairdryer, and from my own experience with the flatiron, I was leaning towards the Sedu hairdryer. Once I used my Sedu hairdryer I was absolutely happy with my purchase. Instead of taking 1 hour(+) to dry my hair, it now takes 45 minutes. All the reveiws said the drying time would be cut by half, and I gotta say that was a huge selling point for me, but even getting it done in 45 minutes is great. My hairdryer is very powerful but does not become so hot that it burns or damages my hair. It doesn't become hot to hold or leave a ringing in my ears because of the noise. And the end result is very shiny healthy looking hair. I am very happy with my purchase. With that said, product is also very important for the health and look of your hair.

I purchased this with very high hopes. I have a blow dryer that I got from overseas, it was super powerful but was frying the heck out of my hair. My hair was losing lustre, shine, and softness with every blow dry. When I first got this and used it, I couldn't believe how fast it dries hair. And my hair, wow, it is so shiny, healthy looking, and soft! I love it. It is easy to turn off while you are blowdrying but it just takes some getting used to. The only recommendation I have is that you blow dry your hair while it is more wet or damp, this just helped me get better results as far as the style I was going for. This is a well made, quality product that is well worth the 140 bucks. I look forward to styling my hair now and have never received so many compliments. I use Biosilk Silk Therapy (I'm addicted to the stuff) before I blow dry and am getting amazing results. I would definitely recommend it.
From T3 to Sedu... the right choice

I have very curly/frizzy hair that I prefer to wear straight. I have had a T3 for a couple years. Since I grew out my Japanese Straightening, I had been less than satisfied with the T3. The T3 runs very hot... to the point where it melted the barrel of the dryer itself. It has only one usable speed and no temp settings other than HOT. My hair looked parched, frizzy and totally a mess.
After researching hair dryers I decided to give the Sedu a shot. I liked the fact there were 3 speeds and 3 heat settings. I decided to order the SEDU Moisturizing Heat Protectant Boost also. After the first shampoo, my hair never looked better. Afraid I ran into beginners luck, I decided to use it for 2 weeks before I wrote a review about it. I AM THRILLED!!! My hair has never looked better. It dries quickly and smoothly and I love being able to switch speeds and temps.
One caveat though IT HAS ONLY 2 HEAT and 2 TEMP SETTINGS. The Product description says 3 heat and 3 temp settings but I do not consider OFF a setting. For the Heat setting It can switch from off to med to high.....very nice when you are getting to the end of your styling and you do not need that heat. Or if you are refreshing your style the next day. The speed setting are very good also. The high is a nice full blow. The medium a nice way to dry curly hair with a diffuser.
All in all, I am very happy with this dryer and can highly recommend it.
finally a dryer that's GOOD for my hair!

So, after weeks of research, I decided to bite the bullet and spend the $$$ for a quality dryer. I have been so impressed with my Sedu flat iron, that I thought I would give the Sedu Ultrapower Hairdryer a chance. I'm so glad I did. I have never spent more than $20 on a dryer before, but they always broke, and left my hair very damaged.
The first day I used my Sedu, I was impressed, but not blown away. Well, after using it for the past month, I can now officially declare that I am totally blown away with this dryer! It is amazing. It's like my hair is getting healthier (or less damaged) and more conditioned every time I use it. For the power, it is quiet and lightweight. (Note: At first, I thought it wasn't powerfull enough and seemed slow, but after getting used to it, I realize it doesn't need extra speed to be effective. Actually, it seems, less is more!)
Don't worry about the reviews that complain where the buttons are... that's a non-issue. Those people must not know how to hold a dryer, because the Sedu buttons are in a standard position, and I have had no problems accidentally turning them on/off.
What I really like about this dryer is how fast it dries my hair, the control I have with speed & heat settings and attachments, and how soft and conditioned my hair remains... all day long! I don't even feel compeled to used my flat iron anymore to get a decent style. Now I just straighten my hair once in a while for a fun style when I go out on the weekends, but I'm totally impressed with the styling I acheive using just the hairdryer alone. In fact, I don't even need to use product for manageble and soft styles. I just use the high (temp + speeed) to give my hair a general once over. Then, on a lower setting, I go over it with a round brush to smooth & set it. My style lasts all day, and I can't stop running my fingers through my hair! And my hair is sooooo shiny! No frizzies or flyaways! Plus, I can really tell that I am not damaging my hair from drying. That's a mriacle.
I never thought I would spend over $100 for a dryer, but now I can't imagine life with out it. Oh, and the real test was that I spent a week at my moms house, and left my Sedu at home. Yikes! After a week of using my mom's drug store dryer (just like the ones I have always used in the past), my hair was crunchy and dry. After a few days of using my Sedu again, my hair bounced back and is lovlier, shinier and softer than ever.
Sorry for raving, but I am really that impressed. Okay, it won't save the rainforests or bring world peace, but it will start your day off on the right foot!

I own a Chi Rocket as well as the Sedu and love them both. They both work fast and do wonders to my hair. The Sedu as compared is lightweight does not get as hot so I expect, it would be better for finer hair. Ever since the first time I started using it, my hair looks so much better, healthier and more lusterous, I never again, wish to use a non-professional dryer. I am able to take the Sedu with me when I travel, as it is light enough to carry, and now, I always have great looking hair. I consider it to be a very good investment and regret not getting it much sooner.
Glad I took a Risk!

I really hated to spend this much on a dryer, but my hair is fine and a little naturally curly. This dryer definately makes my hair smoother, much better than the cheap hair dryer I had been using. Now I want to get the Sedu flat iron :) Now my hair looks more like it does when my hair stylist blow dries it. BTW it is not that heavy, don't think that is an issue. I don't think it is at all.

I was skeptical, especially after making a T3 purchase when it was rated number one on Folica in the past. That dryer was about $250 and made my hair look worse than any cheap dryer I used. It looked fried! I am so happy that I gave an expensive dryer another shot.My hair looks so much healthier now. I think it is healthier than it was using the ionic Revlon dryer that I had. As far as speed, I never did time how long it took with my old dryer. I don't think this dryer necessarily dries my hair that much quicker, but the smoothness is the most important to me! I have long thick, slightly course hair with a slight wave.It often looks dry because it is highlighted. Even when I don't take the time to blow it out with a round brush, it just looks so much better compared to my old dryer. The dryer is a little on the heavier side, but it really isn't a big deal. I would give it 4.5 stars. The subtraction of a half point would be for the weight. Unless you have VERY wimpy arms, I can't imagine it being bothersome. Even then, it is worth the results! Don't let the weight comment scare you off, it is very minor. I just wanted to explain why I didn't give it a perfect score.
Sedu really does give healthier, shinier, straiter hair!

I've had the Sedu hairdryer for about three months now and I can truly say that I really love it. My previous hairdryer was a Tourmaline Ionic that I bought at Sally Beauty Supply for about $60. I had it for about four years until it died and I thought it did an ok job...that is until I used the Sedu Ultrapower hairdryer. My hair is very wavy and I dry it in sections with a round brush to straighten it out. My drying time hasn't been cut dramatically shorter, but I use to have to flat-iron after I blow-dried to straighten all the areas that were still frizzy and now with the Sedu I don't need to! That saves me a ton of time in itself! My hair comes out void of frizz, (and seems to stay that way even on rainy days) very shiny and healthy looking. I use all the best products on my hair and I have tried every product out there to get my hair to look this good. Now I know it is all about the hairdryer! My husband couldn't believe I spent $140 on a hairdryer but when he saw the results, even he said it was worth it.
One thing that can be improved on this hairdryer are the buttons. I do love the flexibility of the 3-heat & 3-fan settings, but the buttons are very easy to change by accident until you get used to them. Also the cool-shot button is not very easy to use if you have longer fingernails. Sedu really needs to improve the buttons in order to make this hairdryer perfect.
If you don't buy this hairdryer I do recommend that you buy a professional hairdryer in the $100 price range, the money you spend is definitely worth it!

I bought this hair dryer in the hope that it would cut down on my drying time - it didn't. It definitely does improve the shine and it makes my hair much smoother - however it doesn't make it so smooth that I can skip the flat iron - so it really didn't help me out that much. But I do still like it.

I like the Sedu hair dryers so much I bought this one as a gift for my girlfriend who couldn't stop raving about mine. I own the DC motor version which is a little quieter but slightly less powerful. Still more than sufficient in any event. I just thought she might prefer a little more drying power since she has longer hair. Both dryers are excellent and I highly recommend either one!

The Sedu is great! I have owned probably six Solanos over the years but finally got tired of them only lasting a short time before something went wrong - smoking, low power, etc. So I read the reviews for Sedu & decided to take the chance - great dryer - so much lighter than the Solano but just as powerful. I have long, extremely thick wavy & curly hair & it gets the job done! I would recommend it to all!

It is my first expensive hair dryer. I like it very much. I used cheap hair dryers my entire life and now see how much fun and comfort I missed. Sedu Ultrapower Professional Hair Dryer is not loud and does not burn my hair. Even without hair styling aids my hair appears to be soft and smooth. I also like Sedu because it is light weight and has cool and hot air settings. So now drying my hair is faster and easier than ever. Thanks Folica.
