im very glad to have the shortie mini styler! i got it as a free gift and thought 'oh that's cute', but not only was it uniquely small, but it is very useful. it's perfect for styling my bangs and side bangs. it heats up fast and to a high temperature. one of my friends has short hair and it straightens it well(my hair is too thick and long for it to work on). also the size is perfect for bringing on vacations and when i stay at my friends.
TOO HOT

This Shortie gets too hot. It has no heat control and the temp. tops out at 415 degrees. That is too hot for anyones hair. I don't even understand how some of the people here say that it doesn't get hot enough. I'm African American my hair isn't kinky but it is curly and long. I'm 5'2 and my hair is to my waist. I also bought the Sedu 1 1/2 and I used the 350 degree setting. This Shortie straightened my hair a little to well. I suggest you use heat protection before you blowdry, after you blowdry and while you flat iron your hair. I used CHI on every strand I flat ironed and it DID NOT make my hair Greasy. Oh and I used FREDERIC FEKKAI COIFF DEFENSE PRE-STYLE UV PROTECTANT before I blowdry. It's a little pricey but worth it if you are gonna put this much heat on your hair.
Perfection for small jobs

This mini is the perfect solution to my wispy hairs that frame my face and my layered side swept bangs. Priviously I attempted to straighten these annoying short hairs, that seem to always have a mind of their own, but alas I could never conquer them with my 1 1/2'' flat iron. This iron is perfect for small jobs or polishing off a blowout. If you are looking to actually "straighten" your whole head, and just polish it, then look else where. This is smaller than travel straighter but possible good enough to travel with if you have short hair. For reference, my hair is thick, wavy, and half way down my back. This could possibly the best and most useful free with purchase I have ever received.
So far, I've loved all Sedu flats and blow dryers.
havent gotten mine yet

i just placed an order for a sedu 1" iron, i work in a hair salon so i have worked with my share of irons, and i know the ones that go up to and over 400 degrees are good, ive read the reviews on the shortie, and i just wanted to say that this isnt ment for the entire head, its only ment for bangs and hairline touch ups, and 200 degrees and is more than hot enough for that. i am of mixed race (blk & italian) so its very hard to find an iron that can handle my type of hair, i used to get relaxers, and its been two years since i have stopped. and i have been looking for a different brand of iron, and about 95% of the reviews are good, and that made me decide to get ths flat iron....cant wait!!!! thanks all

I have a perm and it helps with touch ups at the front and back but i hate that it doesn't have a heat setting and the pouch is too small for the cord to fit, but over all really neat and PERFECT size.
So cute

I got this as a free gift with my regular straightener and I was so shocked at the size you really can't imagine how small it is.. like a short fat pen. It works great on my bangs and those little annoying side burn pieces. I wouldn't have paid $50 for it but it was an awesome free gift.
Sucks...Don't buy

This straightner is no good... I straightened my hair with this for a party.. spent a lot of time to do small segments.. but guess what.. An hour after the party started.. my hair started becoming wavy.... My pictures are ruined because of this..Its only a 200C Single temperature.. For those who need higher temp, don't buy this.. Instead buy the one with high variable temp upto 400C or more depending on your hair type.. very disappointed!

I got this free as a promotion from Folica.com when I ordered a full size iron. I love this little iron! I have short, fine, curly hair and this iron smooths it out in no time. It is very light, fits into a storage pouch and will be great to travel with. I like this little iron better than my full size and find myself using it all the time. Even for people with long hair, I think this iron would be great for your touch-ups.
I will never buy another Sedu product

The Sedu Revolution Pro Shortie Mini Styler Iron barely works, and that is being charitable. And it is so hard to hold closed for the amount of time necessary to get even the slightest result, that your hand hurts. Putting in a small amount of hair at a time doesn't work because the plates won't meet. Putting in more than a small amount of hair means your hair won't get straightened at all. Whatever straightening you do get does not hold up to the least bit of humidity. My last Sedu iron stopped working properely after less than a year's use. The power would go off if the wire moved. Don't buy these products.
Good for touch ups and getting close to roots

I really like this flat iron. I got it as a free gift when I purchased a Sedu Revolution flat iron, and I use it just as much, if not more, than the regular 1 inch Sedu. I have relaxed African American hair and I'm transioning to natural by growing out my relaxer. I use the Shortie Styler to straighten my roots and it gets really close without burning my scalp (sometimes I burn myself with the regular flat iron). I also have some short pieces on the nape of my neck that this flat iron is great for. I would recommend it to anyone who is transition from relaxed to natural hair or who might have short hair or short pieces of hair. I wouldn't recommend it for your whole head of hair, particularly if your hair is long.

Really great for touch-ups while traveling, bangs, short hair, or hair that just needs light straightening. Definitely wouldn't use it as my only iron, because I have long curly hair that takes a while to straighten. It's great for what it's designed to do though.
It is a little on the expensive side in my opinion though. I got mine as a package deal when I bought my good iron, so it's awesome.
Alright for the money

I mean this definitely isnt what you'd consider an every day straightener, but regardless i use it for my bangs sometimes when i'm out and it works great.. its about the size of a sharpie so it takes a little longer than my normal sedu straightener...
Sedus a great straightener, i wouldnt say it straightens as well as the chi but it definitely doesnt damage your hair as much either.. i have both and still stick to my sedu
Not for long hair

OK, I admit I didn't read the fine print on this one. I had NO idea how tiny it was (the glove should have been the first clue). I was actually looking for a good travel flat iron, but this way too small - it would take me hours to iron my hair. That being said, Sedu is a great product line, and I think this would be great for really short hair. Pretty pricey tho'.

This flat iron is perfect for when you need a quick hair fix. I use it alot when I am travelling because its compact. The only problem is that their is no heat setting, but overall its a great product!

I had for less than a year and it just died on me 2 days ago. It heats up too quickly and the protective layer on the plates easily peeled off. I had also bought a solia 1" flat iron and that is still going strong and straightens my short hair. Get a Solia or fhi iron or a chi.

it doesn't get nearly as hot as the full size, and because of that, it doesn't work as well. I bought this product to travel with, and because of it's size, it's perfect. I wouldn't recommend it for daily use, unless you just want to use it for touch ups. If you need something for daily use, go with the full size sedu. It works far better.
Great Buy!

This product is a great buy. It does a wonder on edges. I get a perm 3-4 times per year, and I use this to touch up my edges in between. It is better than the Revlon pressing comb for permed hair to me.
great for travel

This is a great little iron for travel and for shorter hair. It heats up quick and is so compact. The only thing that I didn't really like was having to use the heat glove, although that really is no big deal. This iron came as a bonus with my Sedu hairdryer, which is so good that I don't really need the iron!
Good enough

I have the Sedu flat iron which I LOVE!! Its perfect, leaves no frizz. I can go outside (I'm Latina, with thin curly hair but a lot of it)and NO FRIZZ! Its fabulous. I owned the Paul Mitchell iron, and I could tell the improvement the FIRST time I used the Sedu iron. The mini is much like the big one, except its only one heat (which is fairly hot), a tiny size (can't imagine doing your ENTIRE hair with this thing), its cute and portable and works good on tough spots such as roots, bangs, the area near your neck, and all the baby hairs.
