Sedu Review

Love the Sedu Revolution Styling Iron. Depending on the day my hair goes from curly to frizzy. This iron helps to keep my hair controlled. Its adjustable heat control and ionic plates protect my hair from excessive damage while at the same time speeds the straightening process. It allows me to have versatility because of its easy handling and small size. I often like to use the technique of straightening my hair while at the same time making soft curls. I have noticed that the curls hold much longer when I use my Sedu. Ladies learn this technique it gives you a whole new look. Although this iron functions well there is one design flaw. Now this may be just my personal preference, but having the themostat control and on/off switch on the inside of the iron is not where I want to be at 450 degrees, but it's the price we pay for beauty!
Best Flat Iron I Have Ever Used

I have always felt that any flat iron would work well on my hair regardless of price. At least until I noticed that hair was beginning to look completely fried on the ends. It broke off in places and I could see the split ends forming. I keep up with trims but my hair still looked bad and I couldn't figure out why until my sister made the comment that it might be my flat iron. My mother had recently purchsed a more expensive model so I tried hers and the difference was amazing. No dents, no hair sticking up or anything. I decided to purchase a new flat iron and spend real money on it. After researching I noticed that this flat iron looks like the one my hair stylist uses which I love and I was immediately hooked. So I purchased the Sedu Revoltition Nano and I couldn't have made a better choice. It smoothes my hair and makes it look like I have just been to the hair dressers'. Using this flat iron I am able to stretch the time in between relaxers so I don't have to get them that often. I love this flat iron! This was definitely money well spent, plus it comes with a 2 year limited warranty? How great is that? :-)
Best Flat Iron Yet!

I purchased the Sedu Revolution after my Paul Mitchell bit the dust. I studied the reviews on many of the products offered by Folica.com and felt with so many customers being satisfied with this item I could not go wrong! This is one of the best purchases I have made!! I also bought the Sedu 1 1/2" flat iron for my daughter who has very long, thick hair! The Sedu Revolution has been an awesome asset to our hair styling! I watched the included CD and was able to curl my daughter's hair for her first Winter Formal dance - she looked gorgeous and I am NOT a cosmetologist!! The one thing I'm not excited about is the iron not having a swivel cord, however, we have been able to work around that and LOVE the product!
It's really nice =]

I love this iron!! It makes really pretty curls and makes my hair shiny. You can do so many things with it! Straighten it, Curl it, Flip it, Frame your face, I just love it. It also heats up super fast. The only thing that could be better would be the cord. It gets really tangled up and I always have to stop what I'm doing to fix it. Other than that it's great.
I highly recommend it to everyone!
It was ok

I just recieved the hot pink sedu like last week. When I first used it I had to run it over my hair like three times just to get it strianght. I am a black girl with unrelaxed kind of curly hair. I thought it was me but I compared it to one of my old flat irons. So my old flat iron at 200 degrees was better than the sedu at 450 degrees. For the price tag on the hot pink sedu, it should have worked better. One thing I can say I loved the color.

I used the chi straightener for years and was never really satisfied with it, a relative purchased the Sedu. I used hers once and was hooked. I was just crushed when they were out of stock for so long. I have mine now and would not trade it for anything. I love my Sedu. I cannot believe how much better of a product it is than the other products. Customer service and shipping was excellant also...
a mixed feeling about this product

The delivery was extremely quick, it had took only 5 days from ordering to receiving it here in Canada. My 1st impression about this product was: 1) it is quite a bit heavier than the original sedu ( I own both) 2) the cord is a lot thinner than the original sedu, as a result, tangles up a lot easier 3)I wish it would have came with the heat protecting pouch that comes with the original sedu (I ordered the 7 pieces deal, it came with a small bag that you could hardly fit the iron in it) 4) it has a pretty big and heavy plug like the size of an ac adapter at the end of the cord rather than a regular 2 prong plug like the original sedu. It is pretty difficult to store it away in a pouch if you try to fold the cord up. 5) it's made in China rather than Korea like the original sedu
The 1st thing that I tried with the iron was to curl my hair. The plate itself doesn't look a lot different than the original sedu, however, it does do a lot better job in curling my hair than the original one, my curls look very natural. I guess the rounded plate does make a difference.
I am a little worry about how long this iron may last because of the flimsy cord.
I LOVE IT!!!

GREAT PRODUCT - but not perfect :(

This straightener is amazing. It is my first Sedu - & I LOVE the way it straightens. It runs very smoothly over my hair, leaving it shiny & healthy looking without depleting volume. As far as all of that is concerned, this product is perfect!
What doesnt get it 5 stars are technical issues. 1. The cord is a giant pain - the "revolution" allows for a lot of style options, including curling.. but the cord does not twist around (it is static at the base), so it is not that flexible & requires unraveling every few minutes. 2. The on off switch is in a tough spot - although turning it on is OK, turning it off is a tricky thing when the straightener is very hot. Finally 3. There is no key indicator that the temperature has been reached - the indicator light sort of flashes/stays static, but this is very unclear.
Don't get me wrong - this is a great product! Again, my hair looks amazing. Awesome bonus is the mini one I got free with it along with a 2 yr warranty. I just wish for the price they would have sorted out some of those technical issues!
This is heaven sent....

My first review I believe I gave the Sedu a Good rating, this time I'm giving it only an Average rating. I'm not really impressed with it, I have thick curly somewhat course hair and I have to turn it clear up to the highest setting in order for it to get pin straight and I still have to go over it a second time on that setting. My Solia costed me $85 dollars and I've never turn it up that high because it straights at a lower temp. I'm not buying into the Sedu hype, it's an average straightner with a too high of price tag, I'm still contemplating whether or not I want to send it back.
Works good but the cord is horrible!!!!

I've had this iron for two days now. It works really well for doing curls and it straightens perfectly but, the cord is impossible! It doesn't swivel so if you are trying to curl your hair, the cord gets wrapped around the iron and your hand. Very frustrating. As much as it cost you would think they could put a swivel cord on it. It's really ridiculous. I think I'm going to send it back and maby get the new Chi w/ adjustable temp. control. If it weren't for the cord I'd be happy with it.
Not as great as I expected

about 2 1/2 years ago I purchased the older Sedu model and it worked great for just over year and then you had to hold the plug in a certain way to keep it working but I thought it was my fault because I had the cord going through drawer handles which it frequently got stuck on so I assumed the insides had come undone. I then purchased this iron as I figured I might as well get the updated version. It started to do the same thing last week and today it won't turn on and neither will my old one in such an emergency :( I would recommed the older version as the one I prefer but I was really disappointed for the amount of money spent how quickly it broke.
Dissapointed

I received my Sedu iron last night, and immediately tried it out. I have curly, somewhat frizzy hair. The sedu snagged my hair much more than my Chi ever did, and I left my hair straight, but somewhat poofy. It just wasn't very powerful. After laying down to read a book for about half an hour, I stood up and looked in the mirror to find kinks and curl in my hair as if I had slept on it overnight.
Also- I pressed on the sides of the plates on the straightener, and they moved up and down just like the Solia is supposed to. I was confused because I purchased the Sedu thinking it did not have this feature. I called Folica and was told that I had received a damaged iron and the plates were not meant to do that. Customer service was great and very helpful, they immediately emailed me a label to return the merchandise, and told me they would send out another Sedu immediately.
I ended up telling them to not send me another Sedu because I wasn't pleased with it and that I would just return the damaged iron.
So after struggling for six weeks to make a decision between the Sedu or Solia, I'm disappointed that I chose the Sedu. But I'm glad I did get a chance to try it.. otherwise I would have been wondering for the rest of my life if it really would have been better than the Solia.
But now I know so I'm sharing my information with you all! The sedu is not worth the $140, there's just absolutely nothing about it that makes it worth double the Solia or Chi. Certainly not the craftsmanship of the iron, nor the straightening quality or it's ability to keep hair straight.
HOWEVER- I highly recommend ordering from Folica. They have great customer service and were not defensive, just very kind, patient, understanding, easy to deal with and helpful.
I didn't like it. (Chi is the best)

I bought this straightener thinking it was going to blow my current nano chi away. I was soooo wrong. This straightener took FOREVER to heat up. My chi takes a few seconds. I had to use a higher heat to get the same results my chi gives me on a lower heat. The sedu didn't even compare to the chi. The only kindof good about this straightener is the fact that my hair felt a witty witty bit smoother than the results of my chi. Anyways I sent this sedu back to folica and plan on waiting until chi comes out with something new.
I love my sedu

I am very pleased with this flat iron. It doesn't damage my hair nearly as much as the chi, due to the tourmaline technology, yet straightens just as good if not better. I also prefer that the cord is not a swivel cord as I've now had 3 other top brand name flat irons with a swivel cord, which all only lasted me one year. All three times the connection inside of the swivel cord died and it would not stay on unless taped into place, and even then it was only a matter of time before it didn't work at all.
Best out there!

Okay now I'm a guy with fairly short hair and I have to straighten my hair everyday because my hair is a MESS. I have had countless Wal-Mart straightners but, all of them left my hair with a burnt smell and wouldn't keep my hair straight. With this one, my hair actually smells like hair and it keeps my hair straight ALL day. I would reccomend this for anyone who wants a pro straightner, eventhough it is a little pricey. It's worth every penny to me!
Is it worth $139?

I received my Sedu straightner today along with the extra's, the two year warrant, the shorty straightner and the Sedu Volumizing boost, needless to say I couldnt use the hair volumizer because it was frozen. As for the Sedu flat iron? It works good but didn't see a huge improvement in the frizzies that stuck up from my hair, I think the Solia does a bit better job with the frizziness. The Sedu does work amazing though, doesn't snag and goes smoothly through my hair, I'd definitely recommend this flat iron to anyone. But the only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because of the cord, it's kind of a pain, and like I mentioned before about the frizziness and doesn't really do much for shine. But overall I love the flat iron but I don't think it's work 139 dollars, but it's a great straightner that does what it says!

hi guys, the iron itself is really amazing. causes minimal damage to hair. but if you are planning on using it to curl or flip hair on a regular basis, this is not the right product. the cord tangles so easily every time you spin the iron because it is not a swivel cord. after just 2 weeks, my cord completely snapped because it couldn't handle the curling... and I detangled it after every use. plus every time i would use it, i would have to detangle the cord numerous times throughout use. if you are buying it for straightening purposes only, you should be fine.
