good and bad

I returned mine after a week. I could tell it was good for my hair because it glided through really easily, but it didn't get hot enough to straighten as much as I wanted. I exchanged it for the Babyliss and am happy with that one.

Love it. I've got the old one - gave it to my bro (he's in a band ;) ) and the new one for me - and a mini one too! Trust me, it's awesome.

This is the first high-end iron I've ever purchased. I can definitely see the difference in it vs. a standard iron. I love how smoothly it glides over the hair and it does create a nice shine in addition to the straightening. I have also used it to create spiral curls.

To be honest I never really used it on MY own hair...I did however use it on my extensions as I transitioned to natural hair and am afraid it will be too hot and mess up my curl pattern now. A couple of my friends borrowed and use it and loved!

If you have non-interracial full-on Afro-american/black nappy hair....DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!!! It doesn't get it straight and silky like ceramic plates do and after the third use, your hair will be cooked, gone, kaput! Don't fall for it girlfriend! This Sedu wasn't made for us!!!!!!!!
Issues

Well...I have to say I've been a bit disappointed. It straightens hair pretty well and leaves the hair in good condition, but I've had issues with the iron itself. There is some kind of short in the plug-in, and it doesn't always power on when plugged it (I have to jiggle it). Also, one of the plates has developed a nick, even though it has never been dropped, that pulls at my hair. Given the price, I would not buy it again.

AWESOME hands down way better than any other iron out there, leaves my hair flawlessly straight shiney and silky in WAY less time!!! I feel its gentler and doesnt snag or pull!!
Good flatiron

I really love this flat iron. It is super light and glides over your hair. My only complaint is I do not feel that it gets as hot at the 450 degrees that it states. My hair is naturally curly and therefore difficult to straighten. I would like for it to get hotter to give my hair more perfection when I straighten it. Other than that small complaint, I believe this is one of the better flat irons on the market and 100% better than the two HAI flat irons I had before.
Great product, great results.

I've always had top of the line flat irons, so when my TIGI broke, I needed an upgrade. I wasn't sure what to get, but based on reviews I selected the Sedu. To my delight, it was everything I had hoped for. I have thick hair, and I rarely need to go over any one piece of hair twice. It doesn't damage, and leaves a nice shine.
Sedu Flat Iron

I really like the flat iron. I have had the chi for a number of years but you can really tell the differences. The plates on the Sedu are much smoother(which may just be because its new) and therefore do not catch and break your hair.

So far so good... I've used this straightener for several months now and it works great. I use it every day...and it works very good. I haven't tried curling my hair with it because I'm waiting for it to grow a bit more. Also, it heats very quickly... Very good :)
I got a surprise

I had been looking for a new hot iron because my CHI blew out. After looking at a ton of reviews I decided to get a SEDU as my new iron. When I got the new iron, I went home and tried it out. I was scared that my new brand would not live up to my CHI. After finishing my hair, It looked just like it did with my old CHI. This wasn't a bad thing, but it just wasn't better looking than my CHI. But then, i felt my hair. There was the big difference. My hair felt so much smoother and softer with the SEDU iron. It also passed the test on humidity. My CHI could straighten my hair, but my hair would still frizz a lot on humid days (I live in Oklahoma). The SEDU has fixed that. There are still days that I have to wear my hair back (like rainy days), but the plain hot summer days are covered now. I love my SEDU!
A very good flat iron. The durability needs to last longer.

I purchased this sedu in 2007 and it worked very well, however 2 months later it stopped working. Luckily it was under warranty so I received a new one,but now almost 2 yrs. later it stopped working again (it wont turn on). I called and now for the second time I will receive a replacement. This iron is really good at straighting wavy hair (not the very best at curly frizzy hair)I just wish this Sedu would last. I'm glad that when it's stopped working it was still in warranty.

I received my Sedu Revolution as a Christmas present last year and decided I would try it out for six months before I posted a review. I have naturally curly hair very similiar to actresses Minnie Driver and Julianne Margolis.
The Sedu Revolution is an AMAZING hair tool that leaves my hair soft, silky, straight and shiny! The plates are like glass and glide through my hair like a breeze. I love the versatility of this iron because I can create curls, waves and flips, without having to utilize additional styling tools!
I have used my Sedu nearly everyday for the past six months and have not experienced ANY breakage or damage.
The ONLY downfall to this iron is that the cord tangles quite easily.
I am transitioning from short to long hair and my ONE REQUEST is for the Sedu Revolution to have a model with 1 1/2" plates, like the original!
if i could give zero stars i would.

so i see all these great reviews for the fancy new sedu, and being a stylist i always want the latest and greatest so i buy it. i get a middle eastern client with coarse frizzy curly hair, and it barely made a dent in her curls or frizz. im sorry but it doesnt come anywhere close to 450 degrees. And it was pretty embarrassing when i had to ask the stylist next to me if i could borrow hers because my BRAND NEW $150 dollar flat iron sucks. Im really hoping i can exchange it for an FHI asap. and just to be sure it wasnt just me, i had another stylist try it out and she said it sucked too.
Not that impressed!

I got this as an early birthday present. I researched the sedu original model (1 1/2inch) for actual months and months and I wanted to get it. However, a few weeks later I found the Sedu Revolution. Well, thinking It'd be even better-- I picked that. What a mistake! It takes another iron for me to do my hair because it's so small. I can't make it pin straight because it's IMPOSSIBLE! I can't believe it was so expensive. DON'T BUY THIS!
Buy the Sedu Pro instead.

I bought the Sedu Pro 2 years ago and LOVED it. Other flat irons fried my hair and hurt my hand. The Pro saved my hair, hand, and gave me great hair in half the time.
It started acting up after years of daily use, so I decided it was time for a new one. After looking at the new Sedu revolution and reading the reviews, I decided to try it. I wish I ordered the other one instead...
The Revolution arrived, I opened it and tested it right away. First thing I noticed was that it did not heat up like the Pro does. I turned it all the way up and it still did not get warm enough. The plates did not glide through my hair like the Pro either, the iron,"skidded" through my hair, and stuck on the ends. I gave it a few more passes to see if I noticed any difference but nothing changed.
So I am ordering what I should have in the first place, the Sedu Pro, and returning the Revolution. At least I get the $20 off special. :)
