i got it when they had the 4th of july sale and it was $99 but i dont like it as much.
its ok when it curls but it takes at least 3 strokes to get it straight at 450degrres.
i hate it how it doesnt get my hair perfectly pin straight.
and the anti slip thing actually doesnt work and it snags my hair....
so i think that i shouldve got the chi instead..
but i cant tell my mom since it was a present.
i might earn money and get it myself
Looking for a state where it's legal to marry a flat iron.

I used to have a cheap, 'ceramic plated' flat iron that damaged the heck out of my fine hair. When it broke I decided it was time to treat myself (and my locks) to something worth my money. I got this and the Sedu Revolution Pro Tourmaline Ionic TGR 4000i Hair Dryer in a holiday bundle and fell absolutely in love!
The dryer itself works wonders, but combined with the flat iron my frizzy, wavy, fine hair was smooth, shiny, and finally doing what I wanted it to! No more wrestling with my DNA to get straight hair! Also, because it barely damages my hair, I can use it every day without worry. This iron is my new best friend.

Ok Ladies Here is the deal on the new sedu. I live in the humid south so, with any straightening efforts my hair is going to puff up. This straightener is great for smoothing and taming wild and crazy hair like mine! Believe me it makes NO false claims ! The #1 and ONLY problem. I bought my first New Sedu in October of 2008 WORKED PERFECTLY until one gloomy day in APRIL the cord SHORTS OUT and the little red light fades away. So theres a reason the thing has a 2 year warranty. I call in and get a new one ! Alright Works PERFECTLY until about a week ago ! (this is JULY) THREE MONTHS LATER. the thing breaks IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT. BUMMER right ?! so i swiveled it around and played with it until i saw a RED FLICKER OF HOPE ! rubber banded to the plate is the lowly cord held at the ONE positsin where it will STAY ON so im ordering a different brand the Solia. Because i LOVED the TOURMALINE shine of this straightener ! and also because my hair is an untamed beast unstraightened, i use the absolute highest HEAT setting and the paint mented off :/ i loved the fancy label! well that really doesnt matter but i thought i would throw that out there. Im off to go look at the SWIVEL CORD STRAIGHTENERS ! :) but i will keep my sedu in its sad sad position until my new one gets here !
Could not live without it!

I love it! It glides through beautifully, and it curls well too. Makes my hair feel so soft, even when I don't use product! I have thick long hair, and LOVE the sedu. I was going to get the solia, but I'm glad I got this. Only problem is the cord, it doesn't swivel well, when curling. But that's not a big problem! LOVE it. Only take one slide through the hair.

i have really coarse thick hair and this straightner doesnt work for it. it takes FOREVER to straighten all of my hair. it worked great at first, then after about a month of use it started not working all the way, like the consistency of the heat wasnt constant. it says it doesnt damage hair, WRONG. this straightner makes my hair even poof-ier than usual at the bottom, i have to get my hair trimmed more often because of it. i wouldnt recommend this to anyone unless you have thin or straight-ish hair.
good, but a little pricey

I like this flat iron okay, but prefer the Solia which is a little cheaper but works as well, if not better.

I researched the Sedu vs all other flat irons including Chi, Solia, and a few others for my girlfriend. I wanted her to have a nice flat iron at my house instead of lugging her Chi around. Well, my research paid off. The Sedu replaced her Chi. It didn't snag her hair was the best part. It still slightly burns it but it's smooth temperature control and handling makes up for it in spades. Looks like I'm gona have to buy another so she doesn't have to lug it around all of the time now. Her daughter now has the Chi!

It takes a while to heat up and doesn't work well with my thick frizzy hair. Gives hair a nice shine though! Probably works much better on think and less frizzy hair.

WORKS GREAT! I have very frizzy hair. It's not curly, just incredibly frizzy, especially when it's humid. When I use this iron in the morning the smoothness keeps all day, even when it rains! I just use a little bit of product, dry my hair with a round brush, then run the flat iron through my hair from the bottom layers to the top last. I love it!! I've also used this to curl my hair, which you can do with a 1" iron. It's sooo much easier than a curling iron and looks great! I can curl my entire head of long hair in less than 5 mins!!
Not Exactly What I Expected

The reviews that I read regarding the Sedu sounded as though this was the very best straightener on the market. While I agree that it is good, I still think that the Chi works better.
Sedu vs. Solia

I recently purchased a Sedu straightener and all I can say is that I'm REALLY pleased! I've owned a drugstore brand, a Chi, and a (fake) GHD before this. Needless to say, I've spent years straightening my curly hair. So, when it came time to get a new one, I hemmed and hawed over a Sedu vs. Solia. Both seem to be extremely popular on this site. Finally, I went with the Sedu. My sister, on the other hand, purchased a Solia. Both are great straighteners and get the job done well. You can't go wrong with either. But, what makes the Sedu better for me is that it feels sturdier than the Solia (important if you use it everyday) and it doesn't leave your hair hot. When I tested out my sister's Solia, I couldn't touch my hair after straightening a piece. But, the Sedu doesn't have the same outcome. My hair is only slightly warm to the touch. It also doesn't pull, heats up quickly, and cuts straightening time. Overall, you can't go wrong with either. But, I'm definitely happy with my decision.

I already had the 1-1/2" Sedu Tourmaline Flat Iron and loved it, so I wasn't sure I also needed the new Sedu Revolution 1". I was also hesitant because the new style, though touted to be an improvement, seems to have a greater chance of allowing hair to get caught between the plates and the edges. Well I gave in and bought the Revolution because I find it difficult to curl my hair with the 1-1/2" Sedu. Now that I have used the new Revolution for over a month, I can say it was worth the purchase. It does not take the place of my old Sedu, but gives me more styling options. When I want curls, ringlets, or fullness, I use Sedu Revolution and it does the job wonderfully. When I want a straighter look (and faster straightening time), I use the Sedu 1-1/2". Both do their intended jobs fabulously. Also, my hair has yet to get stuck in the crevices between the plates and the edges of the Revolution. I am sold on Sedu flat irons!

I thought this iron was magic the way my friend with beautiful straight like hair swears by this... My hair on the other hand is very tight curly and I still have not found a product that works good enough...I guess I thought this Iron I would use less.... It is a really good iron! Just not magic on the real curly haired people!
Got to have it

All I can say is WOW! I purchased my SEDU for my sister, she has super frizzy curly hair, after I saw her hair I had to try it, I purchased my CHI recently and I loved it, but after I used this SEDU.... results I could wish for! My hair was really shiny and super straight.
So far so good...

I don't get a chance to use the iron as much as I'd like. However, judging from the handful of times I've flat-ironed recently, this is the best flat iron I've used. I live in Atlanta and I'm natural. When I used this flat iron in June here, my hair takes days before it reverts, and even then it's just starting to swell. I love the iron and would definitely recommend it.
Much better than my old cheap Wal Mart flat iron

This flat iron was exactly what I expected. I did a lot of research before I purchased a flat iron, and the Sedu got a lot of good reviews. I have fine relaxed hair, and with other flat irons my hair has looked limp and plastered to my head (I hate that!). With my Sedu, my hair looks smooth and still has body. This flat iron glides through my hair easily and I don't see the breakage that I used to see with my cheap one, and I really like the adjustable heat settings. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a quality flat iron.

I used this flat iron about 6 times. I am African American with 3C/4A hair transitioning from Relaxed to Natural. The iron does a decent job straightening, but I was expecting far better results. I have to pass the iron at least 3-4 times for it to get really straight. I never get the amazing shine that some people mention. Also, my hair still gets frizzy in humidity. I'm going to purchase the GHD and decide which one I will stick with.
Good tool to have!

I have to admit when I first used this iron I was a little disappointed. But now I really like it, the problem was that I am comparing it to the previous Sedu iron that I owned. It does heat up quickly but I found the other model to be a little faster. Overall I get the same results as the wider iron, but I think the larger plates made my hair feel softer and smoother. I have tried curling my hair a few times with it and it works great, just takes some practice for me. An iron is a staple in my beauty routine and I love anything Sedu has made so far. My only real gripe is that the cord does not swivel so you get all tangled up when curling.
