I don't like this at all !

I had bought the original sedu in 2006 and I use to love it !...I would wrap the cord around the iron that's why it got messed up, but if it wasn't for that the original sedu is 100x's better than this one...I bought this one in Dec 2008, it wouldn't heat up properly so I decided to send it back so they can send me a new one...that was in May...I got the new one 5 months ago, n today when I tried to turn it...it wouldn't work ! ...on my birthday out of all the days too ...so i strongly suggest that if you want to get the sedu get the original sedu NOT the sedu revolution ! That one is cheaper anyway...so don't think just because this is a newer model it'll be better, I know I learned my lesson cuz I'm sending this flat iron in today so they can send me the old model.

I love this flat iron. It gets super hot, real fast so be careful not to burn yourself. It gets my hair straight, without much effort. I have notice the harder you squeeze the curler, the straighter your hair will be. Save yourselve some money at the hair shop and get this Sedu, you will be pleased.
does what any straightener does

It works, but its not awesome. I had researched many brands and types and finally settled on this one. The temperature setting does not even come close to 450 degrees. My hair, even if straighten will still frizz up in ANY humidity and it leaves my hair feeling... not silky but like...sticky dry? if that makes any sense. I'd say the straightener i bought off an infomercial works way better, and that was like $50.
Best Straightener Ever!!!

I was frustrated when I spent a lot of money and bought a Chi straightener and it broke 6 months later. I was skeptical at first but I just got my Sedu straightener in yesterday and today my hair is the best its ever looked. I have thick hair so I needed a straightener that would work fast and the Sedu does exactly that. I think it work way better than a Chi!!! And my hair doesn't snag in the sides which I really like.
It was ok at first

I posted a review a while ago about this product and I thought that it was amazing. I figured that it would be the best applieance ever because of the price, but i am not sold on it anymore. My sedu after 1 yr and a half just literally fell apart. The plates just came off of it. When the iron was working, it got my hair straight, but it didnt get as straight asi know other irons can get it. I was dissapointed to see that my $30 flat iron that i got in my kit from cosmetology school straightens my sister and me's hair much better then the sedu. I would say that if u have the money to spare and want to try it then i guess it would be ok, but definately dont spend your last dollar on it.
Amazing!

i got the sedu about a month ago and ive been experimenting ever since. i had a lot of hopes for this iron becuase of the other reviews that i read, but in the end i do not think that its really exceptional. i had a hot tools flat iron before and my hair would always snag on the ends. its true that your hair wont snag on the sedu.
i wouldnt really believe the reviews that say the sedu makes you finish flat ironing your hair faster though. my hair is wavy and its the waviest at the roots. i become a perfectionist when it comes to straightening my hair, so the time it takes to take out all of the waves at the root of my hair makes the time to straighten my hair about the same as when i used my hot tools.
i do like the curved edge to the iron. i can make crazy curls and nice flips throughout my hair very easily.
all in all, the sedu is a good iron, but i guess i had impossible hopes for it. its a good styling iron with a heat setting that goes up to 450 and its also very light weight. oh yeah, i guess a lot of people had a problem with the cord because it doesnt rotate. but i guess they fixed that problem because this iron's cord does rotate and the cord is really long too.
NOT WORTH IT!!

i bought this hair straightener based on all the good reviews on this site. i was greatly dissapointed when i tried it on. my hair stays straight for only an hour or so afterwards and then turns wavy or curly, the hairstraightener does not fully close, there is a space between the plates where they are supposed to meet near the centre, and it also damages hair a lot. this hair straightner is better used to curl hair because of its round shape.

My best friend owns the ghd straightner and I loved it except it made my friend's hair get shorter and shorter. I decided to go with sedu and it still has the same straightening qualities yet it is healthier for your hair!
waste of money!!!

i have very think curly and normal mixed hair and this iron was just bad! it fried my hair and i had to go over it time and time again then when i went outside it frizzed!! this iron absolutly SUCKS for just about any hair. i think anyone that is thinking about geting this iron and has curly or thick hair should find something else because this is just a waste.
Good for curling not straightening!

So I've been a sedu fan ever since i bought my first 1 1/2" flat iron. However this specific product is good for curling my hair but not straightening. I have thick and frizzy hair and this product just doesn't do justice. In addition, it also snags my hair. I'm not sure whether this is a defective product or that's just how it is. I'm a bit disappointed because i had high expectations from this flat iron.
Cord broke!

I had the first version (2008). It had no swivel cord and I was concerned, since my wife had the CHI with the swivel cord (but it had major electrical problems). 8 months later the Sedu's cord is all tangled up and the cord is cracked through exposing the white and black wires and even the copper line (dangerous!). Still under warranty, I had to pay $20 (ship back and forth) and it looks like they're sending me a new one, hopefully the (2009) version with the swivel cord. It states (9 foot swivel on the product specs) so it must of been an issue, which they should done in the first place.
In the beginning, my wife hated the Sedu because she said it did not curl like her old CHI, after a month or two she loves, I suppose she just had to break it in? Besides that 2008 cord issue, I suppose it works great for her. I hope the replacement is new! Fast response from Folica!
Wish I got one sooner!!!

This is the best hair straightener I have EVER purchased. I have a few at home that I just got rid of. This one is a keeper. It is so easy and fast to use. The fact that my hair did not frizz up with humidity and how shiny my hair was after the first use is what sold me. I love this product and only wish I would have purchased it sooner!!!
Good product

This straightener works well, but the cord gets extremely tangled when using the iron to curl. I don't think its worth it if the cord tangles up since that can damage the straightener. I will be returning this iron. They definitely need a swivel cord!

I originally bought a Solia Iron which i thought was ok but didnt quite get the job done so i decided to return it for a Sedu and im so glad i did. I love this iron , I have long naturally curly hair that is very thick and frizzy. The Sedu iron got it perfectly straight in no time ( maybe 10 mins ) where other irons took 25 - 30 mins.I highly recommend the Sedu :)
By Far the Best Flat Iron I've had

I've own different flat irons over the years,Remington wet to straight, CHI, Maxiglide, and I felt like all these flat irons were damaging my hair and the outcome was dry, burnt flaky and full of split ends hair.
I read all these nice reviews about SEDU and gave it a chance. I've used it for about 2 weeks now, and everybody has compliment my hair.
I must say that I do notice the difference. My hair comes out so smooth and shiny after the SEDU, that eventhough my hair is straight after the blow dryer, I just want to use it.

I got this Sedu bundle for $99 and at first I was not too impressed. It seemed to me that it did not live up to its proclaimed glory. I was thinking about exchanging it so I asked to borrow my mom's CHI. I did half of my hair with the Sedu and half with the CHI. I was so wrong, the CHI snagged my hair and I could hear it pulling my hair out like cracking. At the end the Sedu side looks a wee bit healthier and you can feel it. You can't tell the difference from far but the CHI side was very dry especially from the ends. AND it only took 12 minutes with the Sedu to the its half and the CHI, well I stopped counting after I reached the 12 minutes becuase I still had a chunk of hair to do. Needless to say I am keeping the Sedu!
Awesome

Works extremely well. I work in a humid hot environment and my hair stays the same straight smooth and shiney all day ! People like to compare this and the chi and choose which one is the best. Durability wise go with this, but if you want a hotter temp and a more "FLAT" look the chi will get you that faster. The sedu straightens very well but doesnt make your hair to flat, you maintain body and it just looks so much healthier. So if you want healthy looking and almost like you were born with straight hair GET THIS! but if you want a faster straightner that flatens your looks the chi will work just as well! Both are good but in the end Sedu will last longer and keep you with a more healthy STRAIGHT head of hair!!!
One more thing when i say "body to hair" dont think your hair wont be straight cause it will be, but it wont lie flat on your head looking as if you wore a helmet. It just more natural of a look!!!
GOOD LUCK!
