I love my sedu

I am very pleased with this flat iron. It doesn't damage my hair nearly as much as the chi, due to the tourmaline technology, yet straightens just as good if not better. I also prefer that the cord is not a swivel cord as I've now had 3 other top brand name flat irons with a swivel cord, which all only lasted me one year. All three times the connection inside of the swivel cord died and it would not stay on unless taped into place, and even then it was only a matter of time before it didn't work at all.
Best out there!

Okay now I'm a guy with fairly short hair and I have to straighten my hair everyday because my hair is a MESS. I have had countless Wal-Mart straightners but, all of them left my hair with a burnt smell and wouldn't keep my hair straight. With this one, my hair actually smells like hair and it keeps my hair straight ALL day. I would reccomend this for anyone who wants a pro straightner, eventhough it is a little pricey. It's worth every penny to me!
Is it worth $139?

I received my Sedu straightner today along with the extra's, the two year warrant, the shorty straightner and the Sedu Volumizing boost, needless to say I couldnt use the hair volumizer because it was frozen. As for the Sedu flat iron? It works good but didn't see a huge improvement in the frizzies that stuck up from my hair, I think the Solia does a bit better job with the frizziness. The Sedu does work amazing though, doesn't snag and goes smoothly through my hair, I'd definitely recommend this flat iron to anyone. But the only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because of the cord, it's kind of a pain, and like I mentioned before about the frizziness and doesn't really do much for shine. But overall I love the flat iron but I don't think it's work 139 dollars, but it's a great straightner that does what it says!

I wish they could have made this iron with a quality cord for this is the only pitfall with this iron. The iron works really well.
great product, awful cord

hi guys, the iron itself is really amazing. causes minimal damage to hair. but if you are planning on using it to curl or flip hair on a regular basis, this is not the right product. the cord tangles so easily every time you spin the iron because it is not a swivel cord. after just 2 weeks, my cord completely snapped because it couldn't handle the curling... and I detangled it after every use. plus every time i would use it, i would have to detangle the cord numerous times throughout use. if you are buying it for straightening purposes only, you should be fine.
great minus cord

I love the Sedu itself but I really don't like the cord. My hair feels so much nicer then it does with my old FHI iron. Im much happier with that aspect. And I love making waves with it. But the cord is awful for the money. It gets so tangled up. The first time I used it I spent more time untangling the cord then doing my hair. I'm returning mine for the older model with the swivel cord.
Amazing!!

got this in 2008, used it a few times and was not happy - my hair was not as straight as it got with some of the other irons (T3 tourmaline Medium Duality Flat iron). After about a dozen uses, it stopped working!!! The light would come on but it would not heat up. Too bad that Folica would exchange it only with another piece of the same model, i'd have preferred the T3 Tourmaline this time.
Heavier and Worse than Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron (1")

I had a Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron (1") last year, and loved it. Based on the experience, I bought the Nano Ceramic Tourmaline (2009 new model) as a gift for a friend. It is advertised as 0.65 lb, but is heavier than the ionic ceramic iron, which is advertised as 0.9 lbs. It also pulls hair and not as smooth as the ionic ceramic tourmaline flat iron. The on/off switch is in the middle (as it shows on the website, regretfully, I did not pay attention to earlier) instead of the end of the handle, which is safer and easier to use.
Pretty Good!

The Sedu is a very effective and efficient flat iron that heats up fast and straightens even quicker! Me and my sister both have fine curly hair and the Sedu leaves our hair silky, smooth. The Iron also repels humidity in-turn eliminating any fizz! The one thing that should be fixed about this iron is the wire. It tangles up due to its inability to swivel. Albeit it has this annoying fault and is pretty pricey, it does wonders on our hair. I feel that it is better to invest on one good iron than to look for cheap priced that fail or break easily. Me and my sister would definitely recommend the Sedu Tourmaline Iron to all hair types because of its variable temperature settings,
the old sedu 1 1/2 inch flat iron is MUCH better then the sedu nano 2009 model!

about 2 years ago i bought the sedu 1 1/2 inch flat iron and it is beyond the BEST straightenor i have ever owned. i have very curly hair and living in south florida, the humidity is horrible! the sedu 1 1/2 inch straightenor kept my hair straight and silky; not even the slightest wave or curl. my sister recently broke her straightenor so i gave her mine (which works absolutely amazing after 2 years!) and ordered myself the new 2009 sedu nano model. the shipping was greatt but the iron was HORRIBLE! it left my hair dry and it didn't heat up as well as the original sedu 1 1/2! it didn't straighten my hair that well at all.. that same day, i boxed it back up and am returning it. i ordered myself another sedu 1 1/2 inch flat iron! the old model is MUCHH better!

This hair straightener works works great. My only complaint is the the cord! It gets tangled up so quickly when you curl your hair!!! They should've made it with a swivel cord just like the original sedu hair straightener, which i also have, and very happy with, but i also decided to get this one for curling purposes, but it is so frustrating when you constantly have to untangle the cord while curling your hair! I will be returning mine, as i am very unhappy with the poor cord quality. Please make this this with a swivel cord!!!!

I have used it a couple of times so far and really like it. My husband even noticed the difference when I used the Sedu vs. the other flat irons I was using.

This is the best investment I've ever made for my hair. My old, cheaper, "ceramic coated" flat iron was wearing out, and I decided to invest in the Sedu after reading a high number of positive reviews. I am an African-American woman, with a frizzy and soft, but not coarse grade of hair. I get my hair relaxed on average of every 4-5 months. It's been over 4 months now since my last relaxer, but after using the Sedu --- I look like I just came from the hair salon. After shampooing, I use several Chi products (Keratin Mist, Iron Guard, and Silk Infusion). I run the iron through my hair once, and it's silky, straight, and shiny.
I'm very happy with this purchase. The true test however, will come when the weather turns humid. Summers in Atlanta are no joke on any hair texture, especially mine.
Works great, but the cord stinks

This is an excellent straightener. Straightens and curls without snagging. The only downfall is the cord. For $140, they should throw in a quality cord. After only one use it was completely tangled. I returned mine. If they get the cord right, I will buy again in a heartbeat.
Wonderful Straightener!

I previously owned the original Sedu in 1 inch and after 2 years, it broke. I was hesitant about waiting for this one to be in stock again and was about to get the Solia or GHD but I'm glad I was patient. I love this Sedu more than the original! I am finally able to curl my hair because the original one was more rectangular so my curls did not look right. This Nano is great because the outside doesn't get as hot as the original one so curling hair while holding the outside of the plates is not painful. It still leaves my hair silky smooth and I get straight or curly hair in one swipe. Get this flat iron, you won't regret it! =)
Also, I ordered the flat iron on the 9th and received it on the 12th (I live in NY)! Amazing shipping service!
What a great iron!!! Well worth the $

Over the years, I have tried numerous flat irons. I've had the original Babyliss & the Ceramic Rusk - both with 2" plates. The Sedu Revolution is quite different. My hair is naturally curly and is coarse in texture. The sedu not only smooths it all out when I want perfectly straight hair, it also works as a curling iron. I even used it when vacationing in the Caribbean, and it kept the frizz out. When I would create big curls with a regular curling iron, the curls would drop within 2 hrs because of the weight of my hair. My hair keeps the curl with The Sedu Revolution. I don't even need to use hairspray to hold the curl, which I love because I don't like putting product in my hair. I don't have pics right now but will be back to upload a couple for you to see. The Sedu Revolution goes with me everywhere.
Amazing!!!

I have owned many a-different straighteners in my life time. I have always just bought like, Revlon, or Conair, products of that nature. After getting a really good job, i decided, "what the heck...Im going to spend the extra money and get a good straightener that I will have for a long time that wont damage my hair. Let me tell you, this straightener is a blessing from the heavens! I had super dry hair that was very damaged from my previous cheap straightener, when ever I would straighten it with that one, it looked dry on the ends. My hair was all messed up.(I also got a perm a few years back and straightened it the very next day so I had major damage from that). So the day after I recieved my Sedu straightener, I went to work and got NUMEROUS compliments on how shiney and smooth my hair was. I couldnt believe how soft it was after not even being able to run my fingers through my hair for so long!!!! I told myself I would take such good care of my straightener, but then being in a hurry one day, i dropped it and the next time i tried to turn it on, it wouldnt heat up...BUt let me tell you, Im buying a new one because it is so worth it! After not having silky hair for years (I wouldnt get my hair trimmed because I was trying to grow it out) I finally couldnt stop touching it!!!!! I love the Sedu, well worth the 140.00!!!!!
LOVE IT

I absolutely love this hair straightner. I was actually looking to buy a new CHI since mine broke, but I am so glad I went with the SEDU straightner. The CHI is good also but the SEDU barely pulls out any of my hair and it also seems to work better then the CHI I used to have!!!!!!!!!!!
