I currently live in houston, tx and the weather is extremely humid. I have natural unrelaxed hair which can be straightened easily by my T3 iron but the second i go outside it poofs up and gets frizzy again. Does this flat iron repel humidity or is it the same as others? Question posted by megan Sun Feb 10 2008 Submit your answer | Reply by Camy

this flat iron REALLY DOES repel humidity, and even drops of water! my friend has course hair, and i straightened her bangs, and she got water on it, and it didn't even change! it stayed smooth, sleek, smelling good, shiny, and straight! i have pretty very silky hair, my hair is just like Amerie's (google her) and i have the sedu original flat iron, and in the rain and humidity, my hair BARELY messed up. it was raining, lots of water, and my hair barely freaking got messed up, i sware, all i needed to do was brush it again and i would be okay! BUY IT I RECCOMMEND THE ORIGINAL AND THE REVOLUTION! | I want to be able to have nice curls too!
I have frizzy, curly, fine hair. I have to style my hair or it looks like a mop! I like to straighten it but I also like to curl it. I just don't see how this iron will curl nicely.......it looks like any other straightener. Other striaghteners do not curl and leave horrible bumps and dents in my hair??????? that is probably because most straighteners dont have the curved edge plates that this one does. i know how you feel, i have the same type of hair and i was also skeptical but i have had it for a couple of months now and it is AMAZING! trust me, it works! | | Reply by teddie

I have hair similar-sounding to yours. I use the Sedu to straighten my hair, and it works great. I haven't used it to curl my hair (don't need to!), but it works great to shape and bend the hair, and curl the ends under. Absolutely no ridges or bumps! | | Reply by Tia

Well, you don't need to use this straightner if you want your hair to be curled. You can though, but using products to tame hair also works. Try this:
1. Wash hair, towel dry
2. Try the CHI silk infusion or Biosilk(can purchase on folica) add nickel sized amount work through wet hair.
3. while hair's still wet add dime amount of Tresseme Curl Care Bouncy Curl gel(can buy at grocery store or drugstore)
5. Comb hair w/ a wide toothed comb to assure that hair products are spread throughout hair.
4. Consider using a diffuser attachment when blow drying, it really helps, move that in a circular motion untill dry.
5. Hairspray hair lightly. | sedu or ghd
i have been debating on what hair straightener to get for a while now. i had a chi it stopped working in about 6 months, then i got a fhi and it doesn't seen to stay hot for long. I have very thick poofy hair and i cant really decide if i want this sedu or even an older one which ever works better and i was also looking at the ghd which is alot more expensive but i just want what would work the best. please help me decide Question posted by liz Fri Jan 11 2008 Submit your answer | Reply by folica girrrl

I have very thick, poofy, volume blessed AA hair. This Sedu makes it so sleek, straight and flat that I dont have to iron again for like a week. The fact that I dont have to iron day after day is awesome as I dont have alot to time to spend on styling my hair every single day. I iron on Sunday night and just give the edges a bit of a bump through out the week. In my opinion I would say go for the 2008 Sedu. It really works wonders :-). | | Reply by vanessa

I have biracial hair. I have both a sedu and a ghd. I find that the sedu is less damaging to the hair but it does not repel humidity as well as the ghd. With the GHD there is absolutely no frizz and you can really walk through a light rain and still have sleek straight hair. however, with the ghd my hair was starting to split at the ends. With the sedu my hair is straight and has more bounce but it does not remain without freeze in really bad humidity. now i am using my sedu, but will probably go back and forth. | Is this different than the previous Revolution
Is the 2008 model Sedu Revolution different than the previous model that was also called Sedu Revolution? If so, how is it different? Question posted by Mary Wed Jan 02 2008 Submit your answer | Reply by customer service

Stick with the 1 inch plates. It won't change the time it takes to straighten. :) I have tried them both and no change in time. Also, 1 inch is supposedly better for styling. | does this product have heat control?
I'm interested in purchasing this product but, I have a few questions.Does this product have heat control? Does it have more than 1 heat setting maybe a low heat and high heat? Also, how quick is it to heat this product up? I'm limited on time so I need it to heat up fast like the Chi. How quick is the Sedu? Question posted by Cindy Wed Dec 26 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by customer service

Yes - Adjustable temperature: 180 ºF - 450ºF (120°C - 230°C) for all hair types. For bleached, fragile, damaged and fine hair, the lower setting is advised. For normal hair and regular use, a middle range is recommended. For coarse, thick, ethnic and resistant hair in healthy condition, maximum heat on a high setting is recommended.

Im a guy who has about 2 1/2 inches of hair ontop which is extremely messy that turns into a big ball ( kinda like a fro) when i leave it alone. A few weeks ago my friend straightened my hair for me and it looked amazing and now i think im addicted >_>. She has a Corioless wet to dry or whatever with 1-1/2' plates. How does this compare? Also if its just for straightening would i really need the revolution or would the previous model work the same magic? I believe that the Sedu works better! I am pretty sure the old version would work fine. | Long hair
I have long hair, is the 1 inch sufficient? Or should I go for a flat iron with larger plates? I'm worried about sacrificing the better quality of the new sedu for wider plates. Question posted by Sarah Thu Dec 20 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by anonymous

i would say go ahead and get this one inch, i have long hair (way below shoulder) and with a one inch i feel i have more control. i recently had a two inch, and after straightening it would look weird and chunky. one inch is so much better :) | | Reply by Amanda

It depends on how thick your hair is. My hair is to the middle of my back and the 1" works fine for me, but my hair is pretty straight to begin with and not thick. If your hair isn't too thick either one will work fine. | Difference

I think the following feaures are unique to Sedu Revolution:
1. Ultrasmooth ceramic tourmaline plates - ensuring sleek, smooth result.
2. Freestyle Guiding System - capturing all the hairs within the plates, preventing them from slipping outside the plates. | Still as good?
Does this one also have these features that the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron (1½") have? I’m really interested in this one because you can also curl your hair with it but I want to know if the quality is also the same with the other one. Sedu revolution retains all the great features of the Sedu original irons. Its desgin emphasizes the versatiities: straightening, curling, waving and crimping.
