I have really thick, curly, ratty-looking hair.
It's not really tangly but I think you get the idea.
Before using this, it took about 2 hours to straighten my hair. And straightening my hair about everyday, fried it pretty bad. I recommend this straightener to anybody,
all my friends love using it, and they all have nearly perfect straight hair. I also recommend using the Sedu moisturizing spray if you straighten your hair everyday!

i have really crazy hair, and sometimes it's so wavy that i can't do anything with it. I've tried about 4 or 5 other flat irons and it was the samo samo... it took like an hour to do, and it would work "okay" for like an hour, then it would just go away. But THIS iron is amazing, i mean it heats up soooo fast!! I put my hand on it after like 2 minutes to test it and got burned! :) kinda hurt! , but the point is that this thing is awesome, i was able to straighten my hair in like 15 minutes. And it's soft, i mean i had just thought that nothing would work for me but it's awesome soooo straight and silky. It's pretty expensive but it's a GREAT PRODUCT!!

i was so confused as whether what flat iron to get for my trip to india, my hair is thick and wavy and freaks out at any sort of humidity, i contemplated whether to get a american flat iron with a converter or go all out and get a european flat iron, and i must say its totally worth it dont go for converters it will destroy the product by making the coil burn out very quickly, so if ur considering getting this product wondering whether it will work 4 u or not , get it you will be satisfied!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Product Rating: 4 very good
Reviewer: anonymous   Mon Aug 10 2009

Bought one with my sister last year. It worked very well but started getting an orange-ish buildup on the edges and started to make our hair greasy feeling. It stopped working about a week after the warranty expired which was pretty frustrating.

Product Rating: 5 the BEST i've ever had
Reviewer: Cynthia from LA  Wed Jul 29 2009

I had this flat iron for over four years. It still works the same as when I first bought it. Everyone that borrows it raves about how its the best flatiron they used. It heats really fast, it straightens my curly hair, and also my sisters long thick straight hair. it leaves it super shiny. its just great. The long cord comes in handy and the also how its twists. It just plain great. I have no idea what I would do without it.

Product Rating: 2 Not Worth the Cost!!!
Reviewer: Straight hair pleeeease from Michigan  Mon May 18 2009

This straightener was definitely not what I expected. I was looking for a straightener that could deliver the type of shine, body, and heat I desired. I found that my $30 Revlon ceramic iron worked better than this one. I used both to see the difference and the $30 Revlon gave me more shine, two strokes and the hair was straight and this was not at the highest setting. On the other side of my head the Sedu iron at the highest setting didn't compare. I guess it's just all "in the name" why this product is priced soo high but not that good.

Product Rating: 5 Great for overseas traveling!
Reviewer: Hilary from CT  Tue May 05 2009

I recently used this model/size for a trip to Greece. I have been to Europe before and knew not to mess with the voltage difference with my US Sedu. I have heard many horror stories about people trying to use their regular irons from home when traveling and I learned hot appliances are NOT meant to be "converted" via outlet gadgets...FYI. This particular one (Plug type C) worked great for my trip and I plan to use one again when traveling this fall to Europe. I had no issues and it was lightweight and convenient for packing in my suitcase. *You will also save money but not needing an outlet converter and adapter when buying this iron.

Product Rating: 3 burned my hair!!
Reviewer: marie   Mon Apr 27 2009

i have pretty thick hair and put the temp on middle and i my hair stylist said she never seen my ends so fried! i use protect spray too! i had the sedu before this and i was so excited to get this...i feel like this would be good for people who have really really thick unmanageable hair.

Product Rating: 1 Pretty good except it broke after a month
Reviewer: kate from nyc  Sun Apr 05 2009

It was a pretty good straightener (not as good as my chi), but unfortunately just completely stopped working for no apparent reason after about a month. It just wouldn't turn on and I have no idea why.

Product Rating: 5 Had it for almost 3 years so far...
Reviewer: April   Sun Mar 15 2009

...and it still works great. No problems whatsoever. It does the job and I love the long cord. Because it's been so reliable, I'm thinking about buying a Sedu hair dryer.

Product Rating: 2 BROKE
Reviewer: Alsie from ewa, hawaii  Fri Jan 30 2009

The flat iron was by far the best i've used, but it broke on me within 2 months of using it. I took very good care of the flat iron, and one morning it refused to turn on, and i couldn't get it to work from then on.

Product Rating: 4 no swivel cord but WAY better than my CHI
Reviewer: jenn from houston, tx  Wed Jan 21 2009

The CHI tends to make my hair feel like straw, but this Sedu is AMAZING.. never dries out my already dry and died hair and is REALLY light. It doesn't FEEL as hot as the CHI but it DOES work way faster in my opinion. The only bad thing about this is that it doesn't have a swivel cord. When I curl my hair, it gets all tangled and I have to unravel it every so often. No biggie, I still love this straightner!

Product Rating: 1 Broke after 2 MONTHS!!
Reviewer: Corinna from Canada  Mon Jan 12 2009

This flat iron worked GREAT... for TWO MONTHS. That's it- 2 months. It completely DIED on me on my 2-month anniversary of taking it out of the box... very disappointing! (side note: it's definitely NOT the electrical outlet that broke it b/c I use my blowdryer from the same outlet and it still works fine).

I just bought a new one in China (where I'm living now) for less than 1/2 the price, and it works fine.

Product Rating: 5 simply THE BEST!!!

Product Rating: 4 Alrighttt. :)
Reviewer: Brenda from Its always sunny in, Texas :)  Sun Dec 14 2008

Well this is my cousin's straightner, but I love it.
My sisters hair is oh so curlyy. As in frizzyy curly. And we always have trouble finding a straightner that will actually straighten her hair. We tried it with this one and we were amazed at how straight it came out. She fell in love with it. We're now looking on this site to buy a straightner. Its in between this one and the pink Solia one. But I def. recommend this one to anyone. :D

Product Rating: 1 Junk

Product Rating: 3 Dissapointed
Reviewer: Yvette from Netherlands  Fri Nov 07 2008

Ok I was so stoked about buying this iron because of the good reviews, so when I got it I used it right away and I'm so dissapointed! I dont even have the worst curly hair (more like wavy) and takes me more than an hour to get it really straight and soft but it only lasts for an hour or so. When I straigtenen my hair in the morning its perfectly straight but after being outside for 5 minutes my hair gets really curly at the ends (even more than my own curls). So I have to straightenen my hair at least every day and now I'm loosing a lot of hair during straightening. I actually have this problem with every iron (and I've had like 7 different brands) and was really hoping the Sedu could fix my problem but I'm still in search for my perfect flat iron...

Product Rating: 4 Worked great in Greece
Reviewer: EK from NJ  Thu Oct 09 2008

This straightener worked very well, considering I've burnt out all my flat irons trying to convert them to the 220 voltage! (I go once a year). I definitely do not recommend converting appliances meant for the us 120 voltage...not only does it ruin your appliance, it's very dangerous! 220 is VERY powerful and it's very easy to electrocute yourself. I've purchased 2 flat irons in the past, while over there, but they definitely didn't match the quality of a product you can get in the USA. This year I said, forget it....I need a good flat iron that is the proper voltage. Well worth the $$. Glad I bought it!! I can use it in the years to come. The only con is it does not curl as well as my chi does. It could be the water, temperature, atmosphere, etc. over there...those factors definitely make your hair different, but overall, I was happy! A+!

Product Rating: 2 Not as hot as I prefer
Reviewer: Anonymous from California  Mon Jun 09 2008

I bought this straightener to take on a trip to Italy as I've had poor experiences with electric converters and adaptors. It worked, but never got as hot as I prefer when using a straight iron. It felt like the price was pretty high for the performance of the product.
