My hair was anything but tamed. Kinky curls and awful split ends. I've worn my hair in a ponytail for 8 years, merely because i couldn't stand to leave it down and it be a huge frizz-ball. Anyway, i decided at last to finally INVEST in a really good flat-iron. Probably like you now, i researched dozens of straighteners...looked up before and after shots, and finally decided on the sedu. Let me just say, that there is nothing more amazing than feeling soft hair. I was hesitant at first when receiving it in the mail, but once i started it up (warm-up time was almost instant...and even for the highest setting, which i used), i could tell it was different from the other cheap straightener i had gotten at wal-mart. By the first swipe, i could tell that i had truly gotten what i paid for. My straightening time was cut in half, and my hair? Oh my gosh, felt amazingly soft and healthy. My family, friends, and co-workers were absolutely shocked by my new appearance. And frankly, it feels WONDERFUL to finally wear my hair down...and not have to worry about having a bad hair day. I recommend the sedu to ANYONE who wants to have amazingly straight hair. It certainly worked wonders for me. (i also recommend the carrying pouch with it. great for on-the-go occasions!)
i included a picture of hair when i got it half-way done...and then when i used it on a friend of mine's hair. i hope you're convinced! and best of luck with your search.

the pictures say it all.
i cut off a half n hour from my straightening time.
and thts saying a lot becuase my hair is SUPER SUPER THICK CURLY
i will never buy another straightner again
i am amazed

At first I wasn't sure if I really wanted to spend a lot of money on a straightner I wasn't positive would even straighten my hair. After receiving it I tried it out and was amazed. I tend to focus more on the reviews written by African Americans or mixed people because many straightners won't do anything for my hair. I am mixed with black and Philippino and it works great with my hair. I even sent pictures to my sister and she's looking into buy one herself. Everyone should buy a Sedu because it REALLY works!!!

like many other reviews, i was nervous to get this product off the internet and wasnt sure how well it really worked. i looked at alot of the before and after pictures to help me decide and went for it.. im very happy i did and it's way better then any of my other cheap straighteners i owned in the past!! i have long, THICK, CURLY hair, and it takes me half the time it did before to get it stick straight, even in the high humidity in florida! i just use it on the highest setting, and its very lightweight so it doesnt tire my arms out..i highly reccomend this product

I was very hesitant to spend the money on this product as it seems a little pricey, but in order to save my hair, I decided to do so. I was very suprised as how awesome this product worked. It was well worth the money. My hair isn't falling out like it had been.

I`ve had 4 chi irons, 2 exploded. I researched flat irons and liked what I read about sedu, also read that I was not the one who had trouble with chi. I now have 2 sedu, have had them just over a year. It works great. We have very curly hair.We have had a little trouble with the cord. Do not Wrap cord tight. But I am going to order one for my yougest daughter and recomend it to everyone. It is the best I've used.

I ordered this straightener after reading the reviews (I did hesistate at the price, though), and anxiously awaited a week for it to arrive. When it did arrive, I got my best friend to try it out on my hair right away. An hour later, I was transformed into a goddess. I couldn't believe how soft, silky, and shiny my hair was! The next day at school, I received a nanotrimillion complinments on my hair. People kept saying it looked like I was born with straight hair. I boldly went where no curly-haired girl has gone before.
The bottom line: this $125 straightener totally OWNS those tacky $20 pieces of trash resembling a hair straightener.

this is the best flat iron i've ever tried...even the one my stylist uses can't compare to this....i will admit i was kind of skeptical about buying this product due to the price but honestly i don't regret it...my SEDU is worth every penny ....i had a Conair before and well let's just say that after 2 hours of straightening my hair or trying to i had a headache for the rest of the day....not only from all the pulling but for the time it took also...needless to say my hair was never as straight as i wanted it....if you are reading this and deciding whether to purchase this product...please do youself a favour and just order it.....

This straightener is the best, this is my fourth one, my second ceramic and there is no comparison. With NO HAIR PRODUCTS I transformed my hair from frizzy to fabulous. It took 10 minutes, my old straightener took 45 minutes. My hair feels silky and shiny and looks healthy. DEFINATELY worth the price!

I am not one to write reviews so i will keep it short and sweet. I compared the chi, the t3, and the sedu side by side (my father in law owns a hair salon) and I was blown away by the sedu! I am in love w/ mine and would not trade it for the world! The only reason I did not rate it a 5 is because I do have to pass the iron thru my hair more than once yet still the least amount of times compared to the chi and the t3.

My hair texture is black/hispanic. My 13 yr. old daughter, however, has the thickest, coarsest head of hair i've ever seen. Neither of us use chemical relaxers in our hair anymore but we still wear our hair in naturally straightened styles. She always asks me when her hair is going to look like mine and I feel so bad sometimes. So, I decided to try the Sedu flat iron 4 days ago. It worked to perfection!
First, I used a ceramic ionic blow dryer to dry her hair. I then rubbed a small amount Rusk Smoother Leave-In conditioner($10) through her hair and sprayed Frizz Ease($5) anti-frizz on her hair. After drying, I rubbed a quarter sized amount of Let's Jam Straightening/Heat Protectant Cream($5) through her hair. I sectioned her hair into very small 1/2" sections and began to straigten her hair. I have never seen her hair this straight even when she used to get relaxers. It really is amazing. Her hair also has a very noticable shine to it now. 4 days later, after she has slept on it, her hair is still super shiny and very straight! I'm in love with this iron for myself as well, I love the way it leaves my hair feeling. Highly recommend to anyone with even the coarsest hair!

here i am, a newly turned 40 year old and i've never been able to do hair...until now!!!! this thing is awesome, doesn't pull hair, heat adjustable and heats very quickly...even the cord is very sturdy. i do wish i got the 1" for more control.
the fun thing is that i can do my little girl's hair (she's 7) and it's so cute!
however, no matter which tool you use, it is damaging so use it sparingly and use the sedu heat protector lotion for your hair to decrease the damage--it's really excellent too.

Alright everyone it has finally arrived and let me tell you everything I have experienced thus far.
Upon first opening the package and holding the Sedu I was a little worried. It is VERY light- to the point that I was nervous about breaking it. The materials seem very plasticy yet sturdy all at the same time. let's just say I would not chance dropping the Sedu....
Anyway, since I have normal/wavy hair (probably safe to say on the thinner dry side too) I didn't want to scorch my head so I set it to like 330 I think. It does heat up in the blink of an eye which is fantastic btw. On the second time I used 365.
Well, with the first stroke you know it's good stuff. Beware of holding that same piece of hair barehanded because it will remain hot for a little over 2 seconds. Rarely did I have to go over a strand more than once. Smoooooth plates.
The Sedu does an excellent job. Obviously, or else there wouldn't be this many rave reviews.
However- if you have split ends as I do- it is good to use product to seal back in stray strands after you are done.
When I finish ironing- which takes a measly 10 minutes I am happy to anounce- I apply Biosilk silk therapy. Smoothes and shines the hair.
With my hair the straightened look will last until whenever I decide to take a shower. In fact, I believe that with straightened hair it sometimes looks better once your hair regains some of the oiliness awhile after showering. Gives it shine and moisture. I have gone about three days after one use with the Sedu- results baby.
A side note about folica- absolutely uncompromising excellence as far as timeliness and notification goes.
The Sedu is great.I have used a CHI and it was as good- not as fast or light mind you. The only reason I did not buy the cheaper CHI is because of all the reviews of how it broke. The Sedu seems capable of handling some serious use.
* as a sidenote- my roomie used my Sedu and almost cried with joy. Of course, depending on what product is in your hair and how soon after showering you use it- results will vary slightly each time.

I have straight hair however, it is a little wavy and frizzy. This iron made my hair silky,took away all signs of frizz and waviness. It made me feel like i had just walked out of a salon. I LOVE IT! <3 <3
