I read reviews. I don't write them. But I was convinced to buy the Sedu by the pictures and reviews on this site. When I got my Sedu and saw how amazing it was in real life I knew I had to send in the evidence. I love this flat iron. It's an absolute must have for anyone who has curly hair. We really can have straight hair!!

Previously I owned a CHI and thought it was great untill it broke on me after a couple of months. So I was doing research on which flat iron was the best and i stumbled upon the Sedu so I figured I would give it a shot. I love it, my hair is sooooo straight and silky smooth. The Sedu puts the CHI to shame. It takes only 15 mins or less to do my hair where else it used to take up to 45 mins. So if you are looking for a wonderful; straight flat iron this is the one for you. It is the best one there. Im in love!!!!!

This iron works so well for my wavy thick hair that I have actually bought 4 over the years. I bought one for my home, one for the office, one Euro Edition that I can use when on vacation in Europe, and one Sedu Revolution Nano. What I really love about the Sedu is that hair just glides through the plates without any pulling, tugging or snaring. It cuts styling time in half and makes hair look shiny and frizz-free. I also love the fact that it doesn't leave hair so straight that you look like a flat haired hippie from the 60's. It staightens without removing the natural volume of your hair, leaving you with straight but voluminous hair full of shine, body and bounce. If I ever need a 5th Sedu, I will definitely buy one!

Maybe I'm just used to my old $20 ceramic searing and frizzing my hair, but I'm in love.
I have mixed African American/Native American/European heritage, which equals hair with a mind of it's own. I love my curls, but they are soo high-maintenence!
I only used John Freida Hair Serum and Wind Down Relaxing Creme, and then a heat-protecting spritz from Sally's.. and amazing results ensue (as opposed to the -count 'em- 9 different products used with my other straightener). The pics I posted are after blow-drying.
It still tugged at my hair, but just a bit, and I burned myself twice before getting used to it. The right heat setting makes a world of a difference, so try out a few if you find it doesn't work. It only took two runs through my hair at the second-to-hottest setting for bone-straight locks!
So I told myself I'd wait 24 hours to write a fair (ish) review, and so I have. It rained here, and it's above 80 degrees, and my hair is surviving beautifully, needing only a touchup in the front. Love, I tell you!!

I love my Sedu flatiron....I have owned it for over a year, and its still going strong...I have very very very curly tight curls...I used to pay alot of money to have my hair straight...now I do it whenever I feel like it...to make sure my ends don't look bad, I use a CONAIR clamp brush along with the flatiron, and the results are amazing!

I dont usually write reviews, but the reviews helped out a lot so wanted to help the others looking for straightners. I was initially going to get a CHI but after reading the reviews I found that become damaged quite quickly, also I didn't like the fact that it did not have temperature control (just an on/off button), Comparing both the reviews, I went for the SEDU and i'm a very happy customer.....excellent product..leaves my hair shiny and super straight. Folica was great in getting the product 3-4 days even though i'm from Canada!!

I had a RUSK 1 1/2" STR8 iron for about 2.5 years and then it started shutting off on me so I went on to this website and read about the Sedu and I was intrigued because of the reviews. It was only $125! and my RUSK was about $180....so i bought it and I love it!
It only took 1 stroke from root to tip and I have it on about 370 degrees. I love this Sedu because i doesnt snag my hair or smell when i run it through. The only drawback is that the iron gets hot so dont touch it on the outside when straightening.
I washed my hair, towel dried, and then put a dallop of RUSK Str8 anti-frizz/curl lotion and blow dried, then straightened. Its worth the money and yes, it does cut your time in half!!

Thie is the best flat iron for afro-textured hair. it takes me less than an hour and i have the thhickest kinkiest hair. so for the blacks out there who are skeptical , well dont be anymore, i am a witness to this flat iron , there are also many other africa-american women on here that are proof of this flat iron really working. i love this and it is well worht the money seeing as how i font get relaxers. so go get that sedu!!! the one pic of me is after i blow-dried it and then the 2nd is when i obviously flat ironed it.!!!!!!

I just used this product about 20 minutes ago and the results are phenomenal! I never thought in a million years that I could get my hair this straight without using a perm. As a black woman, I have really thick, nappy and just hard to manage hair. But literally, after pulling the flat iron through my hair once or twice, it's like night and day. Every black/ethnic woman should own this flat iron. It really, really works!!

I got my Sedu Straightern today and I already love it!! Its heats up so fast and didnt leave my thick frizzy curly hair nothing but pin straight. I am so excited. It cut the time in half from 1 and a half hours to 45 minutes! There is nothing like it and I recommend it to Anyone!!
I had my CHI for just over a year and it started shortening out wouldnt heat up al the way!! It was awful.. Tale my advice DO NOT GET A CHI!!!! they are junk after a year!!

Before this Sedu I used a Hot Tools flat iron. Before that I used one from Wal-Mart. The Sedu blew both of those out of the water. My hair is pretty long and really thick. This flat iron cut the time to straighten my hair in half and leaves it very soft and shiny. I was so impressed that I just bought one for my sister and she loves it just as much as I do. I've had mine for about five months and it still does just as good as when I first bought it. I definitely recommend this product.

WOW. Let me just say, that after buying this all of my other flat irons have become obsolete. Since I am African American I figured that this would be just like all of the others, and just leave my hair feeling dry & straight, only to get all poofy and frizzy in the humid weather. But with the Sedu, I don't experience any of that. I was so glad when it came I couldn't wait to try it out, and I was very very surprised with the results I got. This is well worth the price.
This is the best Iron I have every Purchased !!

I purchased my Sedu in 2005! I am still using it today and I love it! About 8 months ago I stepped on it, and broke it, however all I did was tape it back together and it STILL works! I am going to get another one just like it though! This is an amazing product and I would be scared to spend hundreds of dollars on anything else! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!

Well, after reading the reviews and seeing pictures of other black women hair, I had to give it a try. It's WAAAY better than the CHI. I will post my product tips and step by step process under the 'Tips & Advice' tab.
SEDU is AWESOME....heats up quick, very light weight. I used the 360* temperature, I thought I needed the highest setting, but it gets nice and hot!!! I've always gone to the salon to have my hair professional done, so I'm new to doing my own hair. I did lots of research before buying the Sedu and it's MUCH better than the CHI, which is what most black hair stylist use in their salons. I was fed up with relaxers and not proper maintenance of my hair so I deceided to take the step of no longer getting a relaxer and doing my own hair. I did get a good cut/trim a week ago a great Salon in Chicago, a good cut, wash & deep condition goes a long way and adds to this beautiful process
It's worth the investment

After reading the reviews, I wanted to try this iron for myself but I was still skeptical because the 98% of the previous customers who wrote their reviews all claimed to have such unruly, kinky, course hair but in reality they had regular large sized curls--hair not like mine.
For all of you out there who really want to know if this works on REAL kinky hair...it works!!! After shampooing/ conditioning I used John Frieda's Frizz Ease Serum while hair was wet, then I blowdried it. I parted my hair into 2 inch sections, applied my Ultra Sheen non-greasy hair grease to keep scalp moisturized & protected. Finally, I used Biosilk Silk Therapy on the strands I was about to straighten to protect it from the heat and Voila! The pics speak for themselves. Worth every dime, dollar and penny.

I did a lot of research before I decided on the Sedu. I have used the Chi before but my hair seem like it was losing a lot of the moisture and shine. I have been using the Sedu for 3 months and it is great. My hair is soft and looks great. I don't usually take the time to write reviews but wanted you to know that this is the iron to go with. It is worth the money!!

After 3 months of research before buying it, I MADE the right choice! If you were trying to choose between the Sedu and the Chi, go with the Sedu. I used a Chi iron on my friend and all it did was burn her scalp. Her texture was the same and her softness was the same with a chi. My hair is way more course than her's and my sedu made my hair soomther than her's. So things about the Sedu you should know:
It doesn't snag your hair!
It makes your hair 10x smoother.
It doesn't burn your scalp even when you are getting close to the roots, unless you are doing it wrong.
It doesn't leave my hair smelling burned like other irons.
When I blew my hair out and flat ironed it with a cheap iron and then did it again, but used the Sedu, the volume of my hair after using the Sedu was 5x less, yet still thick how I like it.
