Honestly, my photos say it all...
The first was in December 2005 and the second is from October 2007. Two words: It works. Very well too for that matter. However, I have to say that it damages your hair pretty quickly, especially if you use the Sedu Flat Iron more than once a week (if you use it every other day like I used to when I first got this product, then in a month you're hair will start to show signs of damage i.e. frizziness/dryness, etc.) I used conditioner everyday along with the Sedu Heat Protectant Spray....the flat iron will STILL damage your hair. Just a word of warning. It works like magic but it has its negative aspects too. I also wish I got the 1" instead of the 1 1/2" since i don't have 6"+ long hair...

Hey Girls....I have thin, fine, yet curlyish/ frizzy hair and didn't know WHAT to do about it!! The hair dryer simply didn't do enough to straighten it! my friend told me about her Chi and how great it was and her hair always looked so amazing. But then I saw all the great reviews for SEDU and I thought "If I don't like it, i'll just return it." Well, it was BETTER than advertised! So great in fact, that ALL MY FRIENDS when they come over beg me to let them use my straightener and we even have straightening parties where everyone uses the Sedu to straighten their hair.
I'd suggest using the sedu with these products (if you can find them....) Pantene blonde expressions shampoo and conditioner (for blondes who have color treated hair like me) then I use V05 Miracle Mist! after the shower, then towel dry and use Sunsilk Hydra TLC 24/7 creme (dime sized) I then dry my hair and then use the sedu. After that I apply the weightless SEDU Shine Therapy Heat Protector (which sadly I think is discontinued or something..) or you can apply Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum as well.... And I get fabulous results! This product is worth every cent you'll pay!! Try it !! A+++ See the before and after photos and be amazed :)

ok so i've been wanting this flat iron for a long long time but in the beginning thought that the CHI would definately be the better choice.
6th grade: i got a 85 dollar wigo that worked pretty good
7th grade: i got a chi .7 turbo for my birthday and thought that it worked amazing ; and it worked really good but not half as good as the sedu
8th grade: still using the chi but noticing that it is not heating up as well =/ over the summer i get an andis flat iron that works pretty good if not better -but damaging to the hair- but eventually the plates "tourmaline" paint stuff beginning chipping off.
9th grade: decide that i need to maybe invest some money into a flat iron to get a good deal. i had wanted a sedu since like forever after reading the reviews but figured that it was not half as good as the CHIs because everyone has the CHIs. i have to earn the money for the sedu because my mom was sick of buying flat irons for me so many times...i buy the sedu at ulta and it works AMAZING. today i ran the mile and my hair was still perfectly straight-it was amazing soooo much better than the chi ; my hair is so much healthier that my dad even noticed! I LOVVVVVE SEDU...my hair is soooo perfect looking now...NO MORE BAD HAIR DAYS!

As you can see in the pictures I have extremely curly, thick, and frizzy hair. Normally when I try and straighten my hair, it would just make it wavy. The Sedu makes my hair stick straight. If I didn't know any better, I would think that I have straight hair.
I also use Redken Smooth Down heat glide, and it makes my hair silky. I apply a little extra to the ends to help prevent split ends. I highly recommend the Smooth Down for anyone with hair like mine!
I really love this flat iron and think it's well worth the money. It cut my straightening time by 1/3, and actually straightens my hair. I went from straightening my hair a few times a month, to straightening my hair everyday!

This iron is really great! The first picture of me is after I straightened my hair with a Wet-to-Dry iron. As you can see, it was poofy, frizzy, and curly. The second picture is when I used the Sedu. I flipped my hair in slightly. Other than that, it's pretty much stick straight. Maybe I'll right another review with my hair stick straight another time.. Anyway, if you desire soft smooshy hair, invest in a Sedu!

This is the best straightener ever!! I'm usually a very skeptical buyer ('1 bad review in 100 ruins it for me' type)but I'm more than satisfied with my purchase! The Sedu makes my hair ultra-straight with a natural look, and infuses incredible shine to it. It does get really hot but the hair isn't pulled or damaged at all. I tried it on my girlfriend as well and it makes her naturally straight hair ridiculously soft and silky. Well worth the money! (I just wished I had gotten the 1" one for my hair length.) Great service from Folica, keep it up folks! :)

I got this straightener about 2 1/2 weeks ago, and i'm am in completely in love with it! it does straighten my hair in about half of the time of my old straightener. It is so much smoother and stays straight all day long. the only thing is when it gets humid it gets a little frizzy, but that is IT
i have straight/wavy thickish hair that frizzes easily, so this straightneer is a LIFE Saver
and though i had to pay for it myself, it was worth every penny and i would reccomend it to
and just so you know about the picture, my hair was straightened about ten hours before

Ok so i just got this for my birthday and already i love it! The first time i used it i was like no way. haha iv never seen my hair THAT straight. it does get the hair REALLY hot though. At first i wanted a chi because i heard it was the "it" flat iron but after doing some searching on the web i thought this sounded alot better, another thing is i couldnt decide between the one inch or this one, i picked this one because my hairs really long and pretty thick, this ones also supposed to be able to curl but i cant figure out how =( thats why i gave it 4 stars and not 5, but still this iron is pretty friggin awsome. i still have to go over a piece of hair a few times but not nearly as many as with my cheapo conair one, and thats with my crazy curls, iv used it on one of my friends with slightly wavy hair and i honestlly only have to go over a piece like once, maaayybbe twice and its stick straight. if your debating over a chi or sedu, trust me go with this one! wont regret it. i also put a before and after pic so you can see for yourself, sorry if there too little they wouldnt go on any other way! lol :]

It took days for me to research and find which product was the best. I went with the sedu. It works great my hair is more manageable and I don't wear a perm. It takes only half the time to style my hair. I am 100% satisfied.

it WORKS. I think the CHI works a little bit better, but it breaks easily. So the Sedu I would think is better. Plus it does an awesome job as well.

This Iron is great, does not pull hair and is soooo fast to do your hair, I swear I have the worst hair ever for dry damaged and extremely curly, unfortunately I have used relaxers so you really don't know how curly it is but you can see the difference the sedu does for me. I LOVE IT. ps. I got a hot tools iron for backup incase my sedu breaks and it does work just as well but it pulls your hair like crazy. "doesnt feel to well on the scalp" and it probably damages my hair more.

the only reason i give it a 4 and not a 5 is becuase it could make my hair a little flatter. also my mom used it on 400 degrees and she has kinda thin hair which wasnt that smart of her so the ends of her hair started to fall out! but she should have only used up to 300. but other than that it still is amazingly straight and VERY soft, silky, and smooth. i have got compliments on it and im only 13. and my hair is naturally puffy/big and a little wavy so i use about 400 degrees. with a regular straightener it used to take me 1 hour and 15 min. to straighten. now it takes anywhere from 25-35 minutes. which is a lot less time to me!! so i love this and it heats up in about 1 minute. and it also keeps my hair pretty straight when i wake up in the morning but i have to go over it for about 10 minutes because i like my hair perfectly straight!! :]] then yeah!! :] so its a great product!
okay this pic was of my hair after about 5 hours being straightened. so it stays that straight. with a little frizzies because my hair is soooo frizzy and i had no product in my hair. :/

Until yesterday, I thought the best invention of the 21st century was Tivo. Yesterday I used my flat iron for the first time and that all changed! If you were like me you were thinking, "I have an iron and it works ok I guess. Do I really want to spend $125?" After reading all the positive reviews I decided to buy it.
I have very thick, wavy hair that normally takes 30 min+ to straighten. With Sedu, it takes 1/2 the time and I don't have to keep going over and over the same section. My hair looks and feels great!
Work some overtime and buy it! You won't be sorry!

The Sedu is one product that is definitely woth more than what it is priced...the Sedu is a miracle! I wouldn't say that I have the hardest hair out there to straighten, but KEEPING my hair straight is a different story. Where I live in Florida it is SOOO humid that I practically needed a miracle to keep my hair straight ALL DAY. The Sedu does the job right. I have used many straighteners before but none can even come close to this one. It is AWESOME! I know that it might seem like a lot of money for some to put out on just one item but trust me, you will not regret it. I don't have ANYTHING negative to say about this product...very good investment.

I DIDNT THINK ANYTHING COULD STRAIGHTEN MY HAIR WITHOUT BURNING IT OR MAKING IT TOTALLY FRIZZY. MY FRIENDS TRIED TO STRAIGHTEN MY HAIR BEFORE AND IT WAS HORRIFING. I LOOKED UP THE BEST HAIR STRAIGHTENER AND FOUND THIS WEBSITE. THANK GOD CAUSE I FOUND A MIRACLE ITEM THAT I CAN NOT LIVE WITHOUT. I looove this Sedu flat-iron. It used to take me forever to style my hair in the morning: I have very thick Asian hair and so blow-drying already takes time. By the time I could style it with my curling iron, I've ran out of time. Plus, I used to be scared about using the curling iron because it seems to damage my hair. With Sedu flat-iron, I now style my hair in the morning in 1/2 the time. I can even wash & blow-dry my hair at night and just moisten my hair in the morning ready for Sedu'ing. What's more is that with this flat-iron, I do not even need hair products. My hair just looks shiny, period. I love my Sedu~. Do not be discouraged by the price. It is TOTALLY worth it.

The Sedu 1 1/2 inch flat iron is the best tool I have ever used to straighten my hair. I have very thick, very naturally curly hair. For several years I used the Chi iron on my hair and spent mega bucks on all kinds of salon hair relaxers like Bio Ionics, and Chi. My relaxers have since grown out and I decided to buy a new iron. The Sedu iron makes my hair the smoothest and straightest it has ever been even without any type of hair relaxer. When my hair is wet I put on biosilk's purple glazing gel and a little bit of biosilk silk therapy. I blow dry then flat iron putting a little silk therapy on my ends as I go. I have had several people comment on how healthy my hair looks since I have been using this flat iron. I would definatly recommend buying one of these. It is well worth the money. You won't regret it!!!

Allright so i bought this iron about a week ago and have been using it on JUST my bangs (my hair is curly). Today i woke up and decided i wanted to try something new. Sooo i decided to flat iron it. First i blow dried and then went over it With the sedu. I was so surprised that it straigtened SO fast ! I only had to go over my sections 1-2 and in total it only took me about 15-20 minutes. I recomend this to any/everyone ! Very good buy !!

I have thick, kind of wavy, frizzy hair and this straighten works really well on it. I've used a few other straigteners before like the True Ceramic Pro, that was the best one I've used until I got this one. The Sedu makes my hair really soft and shiny. And I've noticed from other pictures of me that this straightener makes my hair seem thinner than the other straightners did (which I like very much!). The only problem I still seem to be having is fly aways, those darn things never go away no matter what I do! I was hoping they would when I bought the Sedu but for some reason they still won't! Oh well I still love my Sedu and think it is probably the best straightener out there. Also it's not damaging to my hair which is good because I already have damaged hair. I read the reviews by other people and had to get one. If it can make their hair beautiful and frizz free it can do that for mine too. Also my hair holds up pretty well in the humidity and rain. It doesn't fizz up like it used to with my old straighteners. I just love the Sedu and plan on buying another one whenever this one quits working (which I hope won't happen for a long time!)
The first picture is of my hair after I blow dried it and before I straightened it. It doesn't look too bad that way but if I didn't blow dry it would look pretty bad! All frizzy and wavy. Plus I use Pantene Pro-V comb in creme to smooth my hair and frizz-ease so that helps too.
The second picture is of my hair after I straightened it. You can tell it looks thinner and really shiny and pretty (You can't see the flyaways because of the way the picture is but they're there, unfortunately). But my hair looks better than it ever has. I can tell the difference in pictures from the Sedu straightener compared to the other straighteners I've used. I love my Sedu!
