being mixed with african american and irish my hair is alot to deal with. on top of that i am also trasitioning from relaxed to becoming all natural..there is no better flat iron then the Sedu..yeah it costs alot but its worth it..my hair went from coarse curly hair to smooth and sleek.it was soo shiny people did not believe it was my real hair!!!!
this works amazing on extremely curly hair..just make sure your hair is fully dried and that you put some product that protects your hair from heat!!!

I just got my straightner yesterday, and im already in love with it! it works great. gets hot fast. no pulling, leaves my hair feeling smooth and healthy.

yeah so i got my sedu flat iron a little over a week ago and i really like them. they are so lightweight and they glide through my hair. the only thing is i have ethnic hair so i need them to get as close to my roots as possible and they don't get close enough for me. other than that they work well. oh, and if u don't have hair "normal" hair that doesn't require lots of heat to straighten and keep straight, i don't recommend that u buy this flat iron just because of the price. yes, it's a good price for what they sell for without the discount but i don't get any better results than i did with my $20 drug store curlers.

I had a CHI and I thought it was good but whenever I straigtened my hair with this straightener I knew I had to have it! It works awsome!!! I really loved it. It really doesn`t damage your hair.(Like the CHI does). It actually protects it. It`s easy to use and it takes no time at all.

Well this iron is pretty good as far as hair texture goes! But me especially my sister has VERY coarse hair so it was straight but not SILKY straight but overall it was good because our hair looked healthier which is always a must.

I'm African American and my hair is natural. I used to use a Chi, but it wouldn't stay straight or get pin straight. With the Sedu...my hair is beautiful! My stylist used in on my hair and said.."wow, these irons are awesome, they are so light weight." These are the best flat irons I've ever used.

I ordered this sedu flat iron 1" gift set on 12-27-06 for 136.00 w/ UPS 2 day air service, and just recieved it today 12-29-06. I have to admit with alot of the other ethnic women, i was skeptical too, because before i would put a relaxer in my hair every 3-4 months, because i hate wearing it natural, its just soo hard to manage in the mornings, so i usually wear a scarf or bandanna because after a couple of days, frizz mania after i showed later that day.
I am amazed, that the Sedu worked FOR REAL!!!!! My gosh my hair is soo straight, silky, and soft now, i wonder why havent i been looking earlier this YEARS ago.
Photo #1: is me after washing with Aussie 2 in 1 shampoo, and motions conditioner and then blow dryed. As you can see it was a little straight but still extra frizzy in the front and kinky. Not a happy face
Photo # 2: After using the Sedu 1" special edition flat iron, with a little smoothing balm. This helps smooth fly aways and protects from the high heat setting, because i used the high temp, 410. My boyfriend helped me with the back of my head because it is hard to see, but he is really happy for me because he sees what i go through before my sedu.
I am soo happy now with my hair, i actually want to try out different hair styles now that my hair can actually move and is pin straight as a doll.
I am going to go out tonight, and see if i get any compliments, and I will update/post more photos as i can
Thank you FOLICA.com and the people to left reviews with photos because i've always had nice hair, i just needed this flat iron to open my eyes.

I got my sedu a couple of days ago n i'm so pleased with the results ! it made my hair looked like i just stepped out of a salon ! I recommend it to everyone its the best flat iron ever ! its so not worth spending money on those $40 flat irons that do nothing for your hair ...do your self a favor n spend the money to get this amazing flat iron !

i just got in my new straightener a few weeks ago and i'm amazed. It doesn't pull your hair at all. No matter what i tried the sedu did not pull my hair, which was amazing. About the shinyness it doesn't shine you hair that much, but that's just probably my hair type! i love this straightener!!

I love this straightener -- it really does make my hair smoother and cuts styling time in half . . . now if only sedu could invent a blow dryer that cut styling time in half . . . :D No, really it's a great straightener and I would recomend it to anyone. I've used all kinds of brands of straighteners before, Revlon, ConAir, Chi, and the Sedu beats all!

I usually do not write reviews for anything, but after ordered and used this straightner, I have to recommend it and give it the highest thumbs up. I had just bought a cheaper one and was completely satisfied, the Sedu doesnt pool your hair, it does make it soft and shiney allowed me to straighten my hair with the same professional results I got when I went to the salon, I highly recommend this as one that does what they say it does.

My hair is like an afro in the morning. I will say that I had the bigger plates before and now using the smaller plated iron. I love it. My hair isn't damaged and silky smooth. Can't imagine life without it.

Ok so I heard that Chi was the best straightener out there so i spent 160 bucks on one and it was good but not as good as I thought it would be for that much money!! I just recently bought a Sedu 1" ceramic tourmaline straightener and I LOVE IT!!! my hair feels amazing! I would recommend it to anyone.

I have curly hair and I bought the sedu right before a trip to a Caribbean where it is very humid and my hair has a tendancy to frizz into a mop. I was actually able to have straight hair during my trip...boy was I happy! I went from beach to nightclub a whole lot easier than I could with my old Revlon. Those pictures were taken on the same day. I have already recommended the sedu to my future sis in law. Just as good as the CHI but so light and easy on the wrist, hence why I chose it. I like the 1 inch better for flipping my layers out.

I was a little cautious at first, but it definitely lives up to the reviews. When I opened it I was like "wow this is small" and I had doubts but it's definitely amazing!
It does cut your time in half like it says. It isn't the best one in the world, but it's definitely worth the money and definitely works amazingly. & definitely the best one I've ever used. My friend has a CHI and I'll admit, it kinda sucks. Sedu is for sure the winner.
I have extremely curlycurly hair, and with my old straightener it would take me like 2 & 1/2 hours to straighten. Now it takes me about 45 minutes. :]
I read a review that someone had said their hair held up in the rain (with an umbrella) and in the humidity. Well it definitely holds up better in the heat, rain though.. I'm not too sure about, but that's just my hair.
People could tell a difference though, it leaves it shinier and waaaaaayyyyyy smoother. With my old straightener I'd have to straighten it again the next day to make it feel soft, and the ends would be all brittle.
With the sedu it made it feel amazingly soft the first time, I was really amazed. I also told my friend about it after I bought it, and she ordered one, and is also in love :].

I NEVER used to believe in products that are marketed on the net anywhere. I am NOT an online shopper. However, while researching ceramic straighteners, I came upon SEDU CERAMIC 1-1/2 INCH STRAIGHTENER....and almost instantly, when I saw the pictures of the women with curly, frizzy or wavy hair come out with salon, pin-straight hair, I WAS IMMEDIATELY BOUGHT.
But before I rave about SEDU, I would like to tell you about my hair : I am Asian, but for SOME REASON, my hair has come out very thick, coarse and very wavy to curly. IN fact, I do get a lot of compliments on my hair curly, but it's time for a change. I have always wanted Jennifer-Aniston pin straight hair....but never managed to get it at home. I have spent YEARS of purchasing expensive straightening lotions, tonics and potions from Trade Secret etc....I have spent many years in trying to straighten my hair with high-powered blow dryers....but something was ALWAYS MISSING. There was always some stubborn wave, stray hairs here and there that JUST DROVE ME CRAZY! :)
TODAY, I got my SEDU IN THE MAIL. Around 2 hrs ago, I was still a skeptic. I scoffed and said, " Hmm...I bet you I will return this and get my money back guarantee. " MY GOD, WAS I EVER WRONG! SEDU IS.....ABSOLUTELY DIVINE!
- In a matter of SECONDS, the SEDU heated up.
- I started off with the MIDDLE HEAT setting just to see and it straightened the section AT ONCE. INSTANTLY.
- I then moved onto the HIGHEST SETTING to test it, and IT STRAIGHTENED IT INSTANTLY AS WELL. But I find that I don't even need to go to the highest setting ( and believe me, I have VERY VERY THICK, COARSE HAIR. Each strand of my hair is very thick and wiry ).
- In 20 mins, my WHOLE hair was DONE! ( and I wasn't even sweating - unlike blow drying it straight where you sweat like a pig ).

I got my sedu hair straightener for christmas this last past year and I love it so much. I think it is probably the best thing that my mom has ever bought me. It doesn't leave my hair growse feeling and dry. It makes my hair feel smooth and has so much shine. I have tried so many hair straighteners, like the cheap ones and some of them didn't work at all and than some would work and than I would walk outside and my hair wouldn't be straight anymore. But all I have to say that it is the best straightener and it is worth the money to spend.

Ok everyone, I have to admit I was VERY skeptical when I purchased this iron, even after reading the reviews. I am a black woman with texturized hair (neither completely straight or completely natural) and I've tried other flat irons that have not gotten my hair as straight or sleek as my hairdresser. Well, a picture says a thousand words! This is the best flat iron I have ever used and my hair feels soft, smooth and is very shiny. For you black women who think that this won't straighten your hair, take it from me...this iron works! Just try it. Thank you Sedu!

This is my first flat iron purchase and I have to say it rocks!
It heats up really fast and very easy to use and handle. The weight of it holds easily in your hands and you can do the entire head in a few minutes. The smaller model is great for making waves that last and are smooth.
Some reviews have said that they have had some bad experiences or it was not as expected. I figured out that if its not working as well as you hoped it would...you probably didnt turn the temperature high enough.
My purchase came with a free gift that was the traveling case which is a Must!
It protects the surface of your bathroom countertop and is perfect for traveling.
Even if you dont get it as the free gift, it is definitely worth the $20 they charge for it.
