I am a guy and i used to have a revlon perfect heat 1 " ceramic iron and i just got thiss in the mail today and it is just PERFECT. i must use caaps for this and never use caps barely.anyways , i have used a black chi before but it snags my hair and reaaaaalllly dries it out . now , the SEDU . : )
it is so so lightweight , it actual weighs as much as a spoon no joke , like theres barely any difference ! i only put it on 320 degrees and with ONE ! , non snagging smooth pass it makes my hair straight as a whip. took me like 10-15 mins to fully do my hair (45 mins with revlon.) It seriously keeps the moisture in my hair . i straightened at 12 today and it is still whip straight now at 9 (pm times) and it is so so smooth and no flyawayss ! this iron can make your hair SCENE straight . {no , im not scene]
please get this ! worth every penny .
WARNING :
canadian customers will be charged border fees . i am in halifax currenntly and was charged an unexpected 16 dollars from ups , and the shipping alone was 29.95 . the free shipping promotion is only for us residents. but i would pay 250 dollars for this .
I LOVE IT ! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT.

I just received my flat iron today. I only had a few minutes to try it out but that's all I needed. It took me 10 minutes to do my whole head! It is an amazing product!!! It didn't snag or pull my hair AT ALL and it straightened my hair completely! It took me forever with my cheap flat iron. I am so glad I made this purchase!!! I am a busy mom of two and don't have time to sit in front of the mirror straightening my hair. Thanks to this product it will take me half the time! It's a MUST HAVE.
I regret the purchase.

I have mid-back, hispanic, very, very curly hair. I was never into the whole 'flat iron' thing, but after I got bangs I sure had to. Then I wanted to straighten my whole head of hair-- without damaging it, of course. For this reason I decided to buy a professional flat iron, and I saw the sedu was constantly being praised by its consumers. No offense, but don't be fooled, its nto for everyone.
Perhaps I should have bought the 1-1/2 sized sedu, but either way, this product just did not cut it. It straightens pretty well, but it didn't make my hair as sleek as I wanted it. You know, salon quality and all. Plus, it would take two and a half GRUELING hours to straighten my whole head. Sometimes, I would get my ends trimmed, and the next day use my sedu, but I would touch my ends the day after that and they were ruined again (and yes, I did use heat protector). It also seemed every time I used my sedu my hair got worse and worse, both the outcome and its quality, not to mention the sedu itself was not getting as hot as I needed. Finally, it died out on me towards the end of June. I got it in December. The year limited warranty wasn't even over yet, and I took exceptional care of my sedu. Anyway, I figured, good ridance. It wasn't worth it anyways. I ordered a Solia 1-3/4 just the other day, and it arrived today. I have high hopes for it, because I tested it on my bangs and WOW. Straight as can be ^^ I'm sure it'll last longer than the sucku, and it was cheaper as well. If you ARE going to purchase the sedu however, and you have long/thick hair, save yourself the pain and get the 1-1/2 inch iron. I also wish you better luck with yours than I had with mine =/

I bought this product almost a year ago. After going through countless cheap straighteners with a mind towards saving money, I realized that I would be better off just to go ahead and spend a little more for a quality product that would last me, which this has. I have had nothing but good experiences with this straightener, it works fantastically, and doesn't break hairs or cause too much damage. I would highly recommend it, it's not as expensive as it could be, and it's definitely worth the money, even if you don't straighten your hair too often, because it lasts a long time and works very well.
GREATEST EVER for my baby fine hair

Just got it and used it once but got the best results EVER for my thin, fine, aging hair! My hair feels like silk with no added product, although when I normally style my hair I use a heat protectant. JUST THE GREATEST!! Plan to buy my granddaughter one for her Bday.
It gets way too hot

I purchased the Sedu after my cheap $30 Hot tools iron was emitting a really bad chemical smell. I had the hot tools for well over 7 years!!! I decided to go for a more expensive one.I did tons of research on many different irons. I decided to purchase the Sedu. When I received it I was suprised to find how cheap looking it was. It does work but makes your hair dead flat. That wasnt the problem though. The iron gets sooooo hot! I usually hold the iron with both my hands. One hand I hold the handle and the other I hold the end of it to keep the iron tightly closed and to guide it through my hair. I couldnt even touch it for 1 second! I had to use 1 hand and after a while my arm was hurting me. You also cant get it close to your scalp. My sister bought the Kiyoseki and its much better. It doesnt burn your scalp and you can hold it. Also the Kiyoseki has much better quality and the tempurature is digital. I shouldve bought the Kiyoseki.

I bought this product in January 2008. I only used it occasionally and it stopped working in June 2008. I took care of it too...let it cool down before storage, never dropped, etc. I paid way too much. When it did work, the quality was great(way better than a cheap one that can be bought at a regular store), but I have a feeling there are others out there that perform equally or even better at a lower price. I recently ordered a Solia from Folica (store credit since my Sedu was covered under warranty), which I should be receiving soon. I hope it last longer...
THIS IS TOOOO GUDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

This product is awesome....I have very hard to manage, hard to fix hair. I am 45 yo and have the best hair style I have ever had in my years. I have used a curling since I was about 12. Went to a new hair stylist earlier this year and she gave me this new style which I could not fix because I kept trying to do in on the iron. Well, broke down and bought at Remington at Walmart and just could not achieve the look my hair stylist gave me. Just went back to her a couple of weeks ago and she told me I needed to use a better quality straightner. I could see the difference in the way she was styling my hair and how I was with the differences in the flat irons. I think she uses a FHI. I did my research for a couple of weeks and decided to purchase the Sedu. I definately have no regrets. I am not achieving the same look she gave me. I get compliments daily on my hair and I mean daily. It just makes all of the difference in the world in the types of products. I also use Biosilk and has made a total difference. My hair is in the best shape it has ever been in and finally growing a bit. I just love the Sedu and it was worth every penny and trust me, I am a tight wade.
Nice Straightener but BROKE after 15 months

I bought this straighter about 15 months ago and it worked great up until it recently stopped working. That unfortunate the build quality wasn't better. Otherwise I would have rate it a 5/5 but I'm gonna have to go with 3.5/5 since it broke.
Just got mine...

I just got this straightener in the mail. I opened it up and I thought it looked cheaply made and kinda crappy. So I'm like...well...let's try it now that it's here. So I plug it in and it does the blinky thing and I put it on like 360 degrees. I have long hair, dyed blonde, and thick as anything. After I blow-dried it it was like a poof mess. So I start straightened it. It took the same amount of time as my $25 Walmart special. It doesn't look any shinier or softer. So then the next morning after I slept on it...I touched it up again and it was ok, except that it's muggy and 90 degrees outside so it poofed all up, and when I put it in a ponytail it made that crease/crimp that I hate. Then tonight I decided to try doing it curly. DID NOT WORK WHATSOEVER ANY KIND OF WAY...I read the directions....suks...so I'm sending it back fo sho!!
Love this!

I recieved my Sedu in the mail after 2 days - - really fast shipping!! I immediately tried it and it works really well, whether I was straightening or curling my hair. I have long hair down to the middle of my back and I thought the 1" wouldn't work on my hair since the comparison said the 1" is used for short/medium hair length. However, this worked perfectly fine for my hair! The only bad thing that I thought was that it looked alot cheaper than some of the other straighteners that are around the same price. But maybe it's just me and I would still buy this product either way because it works really well. It would straighten it and go to sleep with it. When I get up in the morning it still looks the same and it's still very shiny and smooth. I really recommend this product to anyone that's interested in getting a flat iron!
The best I used so far

Before I bought my new Sedu I was using Corioliss. Here's my opinion :
On the negative side, I think the Sedu one is so light and small that it makes it look easy to break and harder to use (ex.: easier to burn yourself). Corioliss was way better on the design aspect!!
On the positive side, my hair looks better, more flexible and softer. I don't feel it will break my hair on long term like Corioliss did...
I am satisfied with my purchase :)
This Iron Is amazing

This is my first flat iron. I started to get an iron from walmart, but after researching and reading the reviews I decided to give a more expensive iron a try. The next problem I had was do I get a Sedu or a Chi. I have heard so much about the Chi irons but I did not like the fact that I could not control the heat.
I decided with the Sedu since I could control the heat level and because of the reviews that I read. I am so happy that I did. Used with Chi silk infusion, my hair has never felt so good. It feels like I just came out of the salon, but better because the feeling lasts longer (days). I am African-American with relaxed hair. I am trying to grow the relaxer out and I am just hoping that this will be just as good with my natural texture.
It may help that I have changed to hair products that I use too. Instead of buy suave shampoo and conditioner, I bought some redken all soft and that seemed to help. I also spray some chi keratin leave in conditioner while it is wet. The chi silk infusion makes my hair feel really good when I straighten it with the sedu iron. I wish I had some pix but I don't. I will try to take some another time.
Works well with my hair!

I was adamant to purchased Sedu Falt Iron (Euro Edition)cause for one its very expensive to for me.I live here in Germany so shipping add to my woes since folica shipped it tru UPS.But anyway only after several days it arrived here in good shape so me so excited about it tried it immediately and boy it works well with my hair.I have a waist long hair that is a little bit wavy and thick so I was very satisfied. My hair stayed smooth and straight till the following day I washed it.Its worth every penny.
In order to make it silkier try to apply heat protectant.I have tried from Loreal it works great with Sedu Flat Iron.

This is a good straightener as far as straightening your hair but beware, its a poorly made product. Mine quit working after 6 months. My sister has one also and has electrical tape around the cord to keep the cord tight so the straightener will stay on, hers is less than a year old also. This is ridiculous for the amount of money they charge. Definately beware if you buy this straightener and use it everyday as I do.
THANKS SEDU!!

I was previously using a CHI straightener until recently when all of a sudden it broke on me. I had only owned it for 3 months!!!!!! I was talking about it to a friend when she insisted that the SEDU straightener is better. So I decided to order it. Now that I have it I LOVE IT!!! I can totally tell the difference when I was using the CHI and now that I'm using the SEDU. My hair is smoother and it's not dried out at all. I'm planning on buying another SEDU straightener to give to a friend. Thanks SEDU! It saved me more money than buying another CHI. So if you're planning on buying a replacement because your straightener broke, but the SEDU!!! It's worth ALL THE MONEY!!!! Trust me!
Sedu vs. Chi

Ok. So, before I bought this Sedu, I had been a CHI user for at LEAST 6 years. I thought the CHI was the BEST straightener there was. I am Asian, but I don't have that smooth, straight hair most Asian girls do. I have wavy (not the pretty ones either), kinky, coarse hair. It's also dry and prone to getting split ends. So, here's the low down. =P
I LOVE THE SEDU!!! 100000 times more than my CHI, and I didn't think I'd ever stop loving the CHI.
Pros and Cons of both are:
CHI 1"
Pros: heats up super fast and super hot, STAYS hot, swivel cord, good size, easy to use, shiny and straight hair
Cons: makes me and my hair EXTREMELY hot/almost sweaty, fries my hair, gives me BAD split ends.
SEDU 1"
Pros: heats up super fast and super hot, STAYS hot, good size, easy to use, no split ends, keeps my hair shiny and healthy
Cons: no swivel cord (I have to unwhirl it a bit if I'm using it to curl my hair like I did with my CHI), takes a little bit longer to do my hair now (15 min. tops)
So, there it is. Both are REALLY good at keeping your hair straight, but I have to say, I never thought my hair would be without split ends and feel so pretty!! It used to be all crunchy feeling like it was SUPER DRY. I'd use the best shampoo and conditioners and nothing. But with the Sedu, it just FEELS and LOOKS healthier.
I LOVEE IT!

The Sedu is great- it was the first expensive flat iron I bought and the first to ever actually straighen my poofy, frizzy, wavy hair. It made it shiny, less frizzy, smoother.
However if you plan to use this straightener quite often (almost every other day), I would suggest buying a straightener that lasts longer than a year. The cord on the Sedu is pretty flimsy. A little after a year, my Sedu would shut off and on when the power cord moved and eventually the cord became loose from the iron. When I bought the iron it was only a 1 year warranty, now I understand why they increased it to 2.
