This is how I make my frizzy, curly, wavy hair look awesome even in Florida's humidity! - wash and condition my hair with whatever I have. - Add five to seven pumps of Redkin Smooth Down through wet hair and comb through. - Let hair air dry about half way to save time. - Blow dry with round or paddle brush depending on the look you want. - Dry hair completly! - lightly pull up your hair so you can flat iron small sections of your hair from the bottom layers up, moving slowly on each section each section needs two or three passes. - I like to finish my hair with Citra Shine Shine spray! If your hair frizzes you need to move a little slower on each piece.
Be patient with your Sedu submitted by: Ellie, Tue Feb 07 2006

I have had my Sedu for several weeks now, and at first my results weren't that great, and I'm sure that happens to a lot of people. Different hair routines work for different people so take your time, and experriment around until you find the best products and routine for perfect hair to your satisfaction. Once you get your routine, you can truly appreciate how amazing the Sedu is.

I wash my hair with Garnier Fructis sleek & smooth shampoo and Neutrogena triple moisture hair mask conditioner. Towel dry and apply hask placenta leave in hair reconstructor and leave on for 3 minutes (this will protect your hair from the heat). Then I apply Garnier Fructis sleek & shine serum (this will keep your hair smooth plus keep your frizz & fly aways in check). I blow dry it with a paddle brush and use my sedu flat iron. It works every time!!!
Wavy Frizzy Hair to Glam Silky Soft Hair submitted by: Randi, Fri Jan 20 2006

1. Wash hair with Redken All Soft Shampoo and Conditioner I swear by it.
2. Let hair airdry for ten minutes
3. Add quarter size of BioSilk to hands and smooth over hair
4. Blowdry with Babybliss Carrera Hair Dryer cuts drying time in half. Make sure hair is 100% dry to prevent damage from straightener.
5. Rub minidot of Osis Magic between hands and then over hair.
6. Separate hair into two sections (right side and left) then comb mini sections before straightening with Sedu flat iron.

My hair is thick, curly, and frizzy (I'm Italian). Of course always use good quality products for straightening and moisturizing hair, and leave conditioner in for at least 2-3 minutes. Here are my other tips: 1. Find a hairdresser who understands thick, curly hair. My first salvation was someone who texturized (thinned) my hair. Don't let anyone tell you it isn't good for your hair! My stylist has texturizing scissors that take bigger pieces out. She cuts my hair in layers and then "texturizes" the bottom 1-2 inches of each layer, leaving the ends of each layer thinner so there are not blunt, choppy layers. Thin if I wear my hair curly, the curls taper to a thinner look that's not so thick! 2. Only salon products work well enough for me. I HAVE to have Smoothn'n Straightening Balm by Eufora. I use a half-dollar size dollop with about 3-4 drops of Pure Polish by Eufora. There's nothing like it! 3. My hair won't straighten correctly with drying and ironing alone. I have to dry my hair with a hot air brush first. I have the Hot Tools Ionic Hot Air Brush, which works ok but it's a piece of crap. It broke after 2 mos. and I am waiting for my replacement. Find a better one. The Ionic technology helps make my hair smoother. Be sure to pull at the roots while drying before your hair can develop kinks near the head. I dry in sections, starting at the bottom. I put my wet hair up at the top of my head loosely with a clip. If the top hair in the clip starts to dry while I'm doing the bottom I re-spray the top w/ water. Once I get a kink in my hair from the clip it's very hard to get out! 4. Make sure the sections are SMALL! 5. I have the flat iron plugged in while I'm drying. The hot air brush leaves my hair somewhat smooth but a little wavy and the ends still curl up with the hot air brush - not what I want. I then iron the small section BEFORE I EVEN DRY THE NEXT SECTION. If I dry it all then clip it up in sections to iron, I develop kinks where the clip was. It works better if I wash my hair and style in the evening. It usually looks too full for my taste at that point, but after sleeping on it it looks better and I can touch it up the next day. I also put a few drops of Pure Polish on my hands and run them through my dry hair to help. I can't get this iron to slightly curl my ends in or out like I'd like so if I want the ends not to be poker straight I have to use a wide barrel (1-1/2 inch) curling iron for finishing touches. Then I don't wash it for 3 days cuz I don't want to go through it again!
Redken Smoothdown works great submitted by: Sue, Tue Jan 10 2006

I always thought Redken Smoothdown was a hoax, but I realized how to get the most of out this iron through the Redken system.
1. Use Redken Smoothdown Shampoo and Conditioner. The first few times you wash/condition with it, you will not notice too much of a frizz difference. By the 5th-6th time you wash/condition with it, your hair will be amazingly less frizzy and smooth.
2. Put in BioSilk Therapy on wet hair. 3. Iron with Sedu as you like (in sections). 4. Do not spray other things after ironing, because your hair will become oily much more quickly than if you just leave it natural.

To get your hair straight and silky after you straighten it you need to wash your hair at night, sleep on it,then wake up and straighten it.It always works for me and it makes your hair alot smoother and if your hair is broke off you cant tell as much.

First, get a good hair cut. It doesn't have to be expensive (I get my hair cut for about 14 dollars) but make sure that your stylist knows how to deal with your type of hair and that you trust them to cut your hair. When it comes to straightening, I always blow-dry my hair first to ensure that it is 100 percent dry. To blow dry I spray in Infusium 23 and then use a tiny (think M&M sized) drop of BioSilk. I also highly recomend using the Revo Styler as opposed to a regular round brush because the Revo rotates while brushing your hair so you have no snaggs or breakage. Hope this helps you ladies! :)
How to use your straightener submitted by: Zuha, Mon Nov 14 2005

Ok many people wonder how to get beautifully straight hair. It is not that complicated. So here are the steps:
1. When you wash your hair make sure to shampoo and condition. Whether you use a two in one or separately you should condition. *If your hair gets oily quickly you should wash and condition your hair almost everyday because oily hair will not straighten well.*
2. Once done cleaning, if your hair is really frizzy you should put a serum in to reduce the amount of frizz. I personally don't use them but if you need it they help.
3. Drying. Flip your head over and blow dry your hair facing up while using your fingers. You don't need to style it becuase you're going to straighten it anyway. Blow drying upside down helps because it gets alot of the spot we neglect, like our roots. * Make sure your hair is COMPLETELY dry. If not what happens is the iron, because it is flat, just flattens the curl and sets it like that instead of straightening it.*
4. You should turn on your iron for a minute or two while blow drying or before you straighten to get it at the heat you want by the time you start using it. I like to separate my hair into three layers, doing the bottom first top last. When you begin, start at the root and use a round brush or a fine tooth comb as your guide. The round brush is used if you want the ends rounded in or out. See below for tips on that. The comb is used to give you pin straight ends. Keep doing this process and bring down another layer when you've finished one until you're done with your whole head.
*The round brush can create ends that are curled in or out depending on direction. If you want the ends to be curled in towards you (my personal preference) you place the round brush under your the section of hair and when you reach the end turn it toward yourself. If you would like the ends curled out place yourround brush on top of the section of hair and turn the brush away from you at the ends.
5. Finishing. Some people do not need finishing but I like it because it adds the shine and silkiness I want from my hair. I use the John Frieda Secret Weapon Flawless Finishing Creme. It is awesome. I have also used the garnier sleek 'n' shine and I find that leaves your hair looking and feeling oily, it is better to use while hair is wet.
*Either put none or as little as possible product at your roots because it makes your hair oily.*
