leave-in mist heat protector submitted by: vivamx, Wed Jul 26 2006

If yhou're going to put on a heat protector spray for your hair, put it on only on wet hair and if you are going to blowdry your hair before ironing it, or else if you putit on dry hair right before ironing the product can and might steam out while you're ironing it, and cause split ends! So dont leave in products right before straightening unless you blowdry after putting on product and right before ironing.

To get soft, healthy, split end free hair, you must use this inexpensive oil moisturizer! B and B oil Moisturizer Hair Lotion with castor oil and aloe helps against the sun, blow dryer, conditioning, and grooming. It's a white bottle with a fushia cap, black writing, and white fushia outlined words that you put on like a hair mask, but you leave on all night til you wash your hair, in the morning. It got my friend's extremely damaged hair, very soft, shiny, and healthy, in one use! Imagine if you used it every day you washed your hair! It cost me $2.50 at Walmart in the black hair section. It makes your hair oily, but its soooooooooo worth it, you can take a shower afterwards anyway. Believe me, im hispanic, but i like my hair, HEALTHY. It also act as a strengether, and good for skin.

To get your hair smooth and shiny , and so it stays straight.. first wash out your hair , if you ever have products in your hair it can burn on the striaghtner and make your hair feel greasy or stiff. Deep condition it after shampooing , you don;t want split ends ;]. While its still wet part your hair into 3 sections ; right front , back and left front, use " Loreal Studio Hot Straight cream" and dab a size of a dollar on your plam and rub around each section of your hair. The next step is to let your hair dry with the air or blowdry it (blowdrying can dryit out a little). Now , add 1 pump of garnier sleek and shine (rub trhoughlt in your plams and swipe through hair , or else you have spots that look greasy) and brush it out. Straigthen your hair. Add sleek n' shine anti frizz serum, a reasonable amount..brush out.. your ready

Size DOES matter. submitted by: Caroline, Tue May 30 2006

So my hair is medium-long length, a couple inches past my shoulders. I thought the Sedu 1-1/2 inch was the right size for my hair length [especially if I chose to grow it out really long] and that it would take less time to straighten my hair with a bigger plate. But now I wish I'd looked into the 1 inch Sedu before buying the bigger one. Because a 1 inch iron can make curls as well as straighten. Unless your hair is very long and you don't want a straightener that can also be used for curls, I'd look into the 1 inch. :]

i use to have really dry hair b/c i blowdryed and straightened it so much but then is started doing this: 1)i use samy shampoo and conditioner for dry hair 2)before i blowdry my hair i let it air dry for about half an hour in a towel 3)then when im ready to blowdry i put rusk wired serum in my damp hair which decreases the time it takes. 4)i use the warm air setting on my blowdryer and low-medium setting on my straightener 5)after im all done straightening i follow w/ paul mitchell glos drops.
Hair irons and all dat submitted by: Nilo, Wed May 24 2006

Dear readers,
I have had fun reading and checking out the results of different irons for the last 2 days ( yup I am that jobless). I love the before and after pictures ...esp the smiles when sedu does it all. I am of north Indian origion and have very very good hair, thick and with a wave to it. The sedu is great ...but with all heat treatments there is some hair damage. no ifs and buts! I dont believe in heavy product use... frankly I am astound at the amount of time fellow women spend on getting straight hair and then a healthy shine. I have a tried and tested method which works great for me as well as my friend of african-american origin( man she has kinky hair) and a blond friend. Heres what we do.
1. We buy in bulk the shikaki shampoo sold in whole foods stores all over, divide in to 3 bottles. Its extremely mild and dont be worried by the drying effect u will feel on afro hair.
2. Once a week we oil our hair and steam it with coconut oil. apply oil to scalp and work it down to the ends ...do not use excess. dip a towel in hot water and twist till all the water gets out ... spread open the towel and immediatly turn hair upside down and wrap. Thats steaming it.
3. Use half a dollor amount of the shampoo( its herbal), work later and rise ... the last rinse being in cold water.
4. Use ur regular conditioner. make sure u use little coz hair gets awfully used to conditioners 'n stuff and will behave badly on days u dont use it.
5. dry hair gently. comb thru with wide tooth comb and dont yank. Gentle does the trick. Use ur sedu and u will have wonderful results.
Also once in 2 weeks we blend half an egg yolk with the shampoo and use it on our hair. Its a wonderful protein treatment.
once a month we use deep conditioning ( more often if u have colour treated hair) ...the product we use is Keune (lecitol) ...Its an awesome product ...superior saloon quality.
I hope u enjoy taking care of hair our method.

I have hair that is naturally curly and frizzy, also very thick. This routine works amazing for me.
1. Wash with Redken Smooth Down Shampoo. 2. Condition with Redken Butter treat. I leave it in while I wash and shave in the shower. Rinsing it out is the last thing I do because I want it to moisturize my hair well. When you do rinse, be sure you rinse very well. 3. towel dry hair. 4. use 2-3 pumps of Garnier Fructis Sleek n Shine Anti frizz serum. 5. Blow dry hair with a round brush with natural bristles. 6. Add 1-2 more pumps of the sleek n' shine. 7. Spray with Chi Iron Guard 44. 8. Divide into sections and iron with your sedu.
My hair comes out smooth and flawless every time.

1. wash hair with Garnier Fructis 9 (shampoo and conditioner) 2. Dry your hair and completely untangle 3. part into four sections, top and bottom, left and right 4. pass the iron down your hair softly not rough do this until entire hair is sraight 5. finish off with Garnier Sleek and Shine, makes your hair smell wonderful and leaves it smooth

When I first recieved my sedu I was very unhappy with it. It didn't straighten half as well as I thougt it would...I was all set to return it, but my friends said I should experiment with it, that maybe I just had to learn and get my routine down pat. I am so happy I took their advice!
With this routine I get silky, straight, shiny perfectly straight flawless hair every time! 1. Wash with Phyto organics Hydruss moisturizing shampoo (by Nexxus) 2. Condition with Phyto Organics Nectaress nourishing conditioner (also by Nexxus) 3. towel dry hair. 4. smooth a nickel sized amount of chi silk infusion. 5. blow dry hair straight with a roundbrush that has 100% natural boars hair bristles 5. Spray on Chi 44 Heat guard iron spray (not too much or else your hair will sizzle when you straighten, just a lgiht spritz on all sides of your head-also wait a good two minutes after spraying) 6. Iron with the sedu (i gather my hair in a ponytail and bring down sections one at a time to ensure I get them all smooth and straight)
If you want you can finish with a bit more silk infusion.
It's also important to take good care of your hair. I go for trims every six weeks to remove split ends. I also deep condition with Redken Butter Treat 2-3 x's a week...Or sometimes I use Loreal Unfrizz deep conditioning treatment (it comes in little packets that you can get for 2.50 at your beauty supply store) I also try to be sure to do protein treatments once a week. I use Redken Deep Fuel.
Good luck!

I have really curly, frizzy and difficult to manage hair and I'm rican so I'm not blessed with healthy looking hair...But what really really works for me and it looks like i just stepped out of a salon:
-Wash my hair with Dove Shampoo -Condition with Dove Intense Conditioning(leave for 5 minutes) -Let hair air dry -Add a quarter size amount of Frizz Ease or Biosilk(both work really good) -Straighten in Sections
Dont spray with sheen or anything because it gets oily pretty quickly.
