Shiny, Smooth straight hair!
submitted by: Hazel, Mon Jan 19 2009

This is what I do to get really soft, shiny, smooth and straight hair:
1. I first wash my hair, it does not really matter on the shampoo and conditioner
2. Then I blow dry my hair
3. I then put some of Fantasia pure tea instant moisturizer throughout my hair
4. After that I spray some Sedus moisturizing spray
5. Then I put some Chi silk infusion ( only dime or quarter size amount )
6. Then I get to work with my sedu and straighten my hair getting as close to the roots as possible
7. After I am all done I put some of Fantasias frizz buster serum

I just have to say that I am a African American and all these steps getting me really smooth and straight hair, so if it can work for me then it can work for you.

How To Straighten...
submitted by: Jackie, Wed Apr 09 2008

First i should tell you that I spend a little more money than most do on shampoos.

1) wash with regular shampoo (head&shoulders...Dove..etc.) but only if your hair is too dirty
2) skip first step if your hair is not. Then wash with Sleek. Look. 1 shampoo
3) Then, apply Sleek. Look 2 Conditioner
4) leave a little bit of conditioner in your hair, then towel dry and apply FHI Hot Sauce
4) Spray your hair with the Chi Heat protectant (any of them, i use CHI 44 Iron Guard Thermal Protection Spray)
5) Use a blow dryer to sort of straighten it (i have VERY frizzy, coarse hair)
6) Apply a styling cream to smooth your hair out and help eliminate frizz (i use CHI Straight Guard Smoothing Styling Cream)
7) Flat iron your hair with the Sedu!
8) Put hair spray on for keeping your hair locked down (i use Matrix Sleek Look Water Free Hair Spray)

What I do to make my hair silky straight is this:
1.Wash my hair with Head & Shoulders classic clean
2.Wash my hair with straighten up conditioner by Sunsilk
(brush it out so there are no tangles)
3.use my towel and scrunch my hair till its damp.
4.apply a dime size amount of garnier fructis length and
strengthen
5.and let it air dry ( I do this at night so its dry in the morning)
6.Then spray some heat protectant and straighten it with the Sedu :)

Perfect results that you will LOVE

Ok... the first step to wonderful straight hair is to WASH it! Use shampoo and conditioner. Then, You mist with hairspray BEFORE blow drying. Now, depending on your hair type, if your hair is super curly, blow it straight. If it is wavy, you can blow it normally. I have very frizzy hair, so i have found it helpful to blow it straight. Also, when you are finshed blowing your hair out, Brush it to make sure it is tangle free! ( also, you should brush it before you hair dry it too) and then I have the 1" sedu, and it is perfet for my frizzy, thin, curley hair! Use your straightener and mist with hairspray one more time to make it last all day!!! ( also, make sure that you dont use too much hairspray, because your hair will look oily if you put too much hairspray on!!!)

Happy Straightining!!! :)

Do not blow dry first
submitted by: Starmoongal, Mon Mar 26 2007
13 of 15 people found this tip helpful.

After washing your hair, put a light conditioning moose in you hair and comb your hair free of tangles. and allow to dry thoroughly. You can use a hair dryer to speed this process up, but do not blow it dry straight. After hair is completely dry, just seperate in sections, doing the bottom layers first and working your way up to the top of your head. There is no need to comb out your hair first since you just washed and combed it and unless you slept on your hair, it should still be tangle free and it comes out nice and smooth! Finish with Frizz Ease hair spray and your hair magically stays straight!!!

Is your Hair dry-sun damaged or just in need of hydration?
submitted by: Peri Holladay, Thu Jan 11 2007

I found! the one thing that allows my brown hair to be colored within the time frame I need without burning it!!
I found not only something that works for my hair but when on vacation in the bahamas.-- I used it on my body after drenching my hair to be out on the beach..and it works as a wonderful hydrator for even the skin. I will never ever go on vacation w/out it...nor will I color my hair w/out it.
OJON! it is a number ONE product in my house. course hair just is not a problem anymore. -my hair drying! before drying off after shampooing!..??? Nope *s* - it is hydrated so well. and my natural curl looks great instead of a mop. LOVE IT. -- give it a try you will be soo happy you did.

Plate Size - 1" or 1.5"
submitted by: Caitlin, Fri Sep 22 2006

I have always bought the 2" irons to save myself time in the past. I have hair that isn't overly thick but it is past my shoulders. I took a chance and ordered the 1" this time and am quite happy with it - it gets out the kinks that I get in my bangs and closer to my scalp. You only need the 1.5" if your hair is really curly or thick.

No Oil
submitted by: Katherine, Thu Mar 23 2006
38 of 50 people found this tip helpful.

if your hair is oily and you use a flat iron, it will just look worse. Make sure that you wash your hair thouroughly before you straighten it. For best results, dont straiten directly at the roots unless you have very curly of frizzy hair. (Another tip-- use a good hairspray evenly after you straighten, and then brush your hair.. it will stay perfect all day!)
