i have really crazy hair, and sometimes it's so wavy that i can't do anything with it. I've tried about 4 or 5 other flat irons and it was the samo samo... it took like an hour to do, and it would work "okay" for like an hour, then it would just go away. But THIS iron is amazing, i mean it heats up soooo fast!! I put my hand on it after like 2 minutes to test it and got burned! :) kinda hurt! , but the point is that this thing is awesome, i was able to straighten my hair in like 15 minutes. And it's soft, i mean i had just thought that nothing would work for me but it's awesome soooo straight and silky. It's pretty expensive but it's a GREAT PRODUCT!!
BROKE

The flat iron was by far the best i've used, but it broke on me within 2 months of using it. I took very good care of the flat iron, and one morning it refused to turn on, and i couldn't get it to work from then on.
no swivel cord but WAY better than my CHI

The CHI tends to make my hair feel like straw, but this Sedu is AMAZING.. never dries out my already dry and died hair and is REALLY light. It doesn't FEEL as hot as the CHI but it DOES work way faster in my opinion. The only bad thing about this is that it doesn't have a swivel cord. When I curl my hair, it gets all tangled and I have to unravel it every so often. No biggie, I still love this straightner!
Broke after 2 MONTHS!!

This flat iron worked GREAT... for TWO MONTHS. That's it- 2 months. It completely DIED on me on my 2-month anniversary of taking it out of the box... very disappointing! (side note: it's definitely NOT the electrical outlet that broke it b/c I use my blowdryer from the same outlet and it still works fine).
I just bought a new one in China (where I'm living now) for less than 1/2 the price, and it works fine.
simply THE BEST!!!

Well this is my cousin's straightner, but I love it.
My sisters hair is oh so curlyy. As in frizzyy curly. And we always have trouble finding a straightner that will actually straighten her hair. We tried it with this one and we were amazed at how straight it came out. She fell in love with it. We're now looking on this site to buy a straightner. Its in between this one and the pink Solia one. But I def. recommend this one to anyone. :D

Ok I was so stoked about buying this iron because of the good reviews, so when I got it I used it right away and I'm so dissapointed! I dont even have the worst curly hair (more like wavy) and takes me more than an hour to get it really straight and soft but it only lasts for an hour or so. When I straigtenen my hair in the morning its perfectly straight but after being outside for 5 minutes my hair gets really curly at the ends (even more than my own curls). So I have to straightenen my hair at least every day and now I'm loosing a lot of hair during straightening. I actually have this problem with every iron (and I've had like 7 different brands) and was really hoping the Sedu could fix my problem but I'm still in search for my perfect flat iron...

This straightener worked very well, considering I've burnt out all my flat irons trying to convert them to the 220 voltage! (I go once a year). I definitely do not recommend converting appliances meant for the us 120 voltage...not only does it ruin your appliance, it's very dangerous! 220 is VERY powerful and it's very easy to electrocute yourself. I've purchased 2 flat irons in the past, while over there, but they definitely didn't match the quality of a product you can get in the USA. This year I said, forget it....I need a good flat iron that is the proper voltage. Well worth the $$. Glad I bought it!! I can use it in the years to come. The only con is it does not curl as well as my chi does. It could be the water, temperature, atmosphere, etc. over there...those factors definitely make your hair different, but overall, I was happy! A+!
Not as hot as I prefer

I bought this straightener to take on a trip to Italy as I've had poor experiences with electric converters and adaptors. It worked, but never got as hot as I prefer when using a straight iron. It felt like the price was pretty high for the performance of the product.
Just as I hoped...

This flat iron was a sheer pleasure to use while on my trip in Italy. The dial helps you control the temperature; it heats up quickly; it comes with its own case for cool down and storage...it was perfect! The smooth feel of the ceramic was wonderful and it styled my hair even better than my Chi I use when home in NYC...highly recommend this flat iron...you will be thrilled....I can't wait to travel and use it again soon.
Worth buying just for travel

I went overseas for a couple of weeks and debated purchasing a native plug appliance just for occasional trips. It was so worth it, not only because it was more secure in wobbly hotel plugs than using a adaptor but also so we could save the three adaptors we brought with us for charging camera batteries instead of running hair appliances. As for the Sedu, I liked it so much, I'm buying the US plug for everyday use now that I'm back home and dumping my over-the-counter version.

I do like this Sedu. Much lighter than my US Solia Flat Iron. I wish this Sedu has a swivel cord. If you curl your hair, the cord gets entangled all the time & so annoying.

I was skeptical to buy something this expensive for my short trip to Asia, but then decided to go ahead and give it a try. I have pretty thick wavy hair, but was able to get it straight with this tool. It worked well and also took less time. Was really pleased. The style lasted the high humidity too. Was really pleased with the purchase. The only complain I had was my hair seemed very flat and did not seem like it had volume. But I would take flat hair for frizzy unkept hair :-) Shipping was fast too.
loved it

Excellent hair straightener. I purchased this to use in Asia (220V) and I was not disappointed. It straightened my hair really fast. I've had the Superstar, CHI, and Solia, but the Sedu thus far is the best in terms of ease of use and how fast it straightens the hair. I' can't say the same for the 110-V version, but I'm seriously thinking of getting one to cut my straightening time in the morning.
