The Sedu flat iron works just as well as advertised. It heats up amazingly fast. it also functions well on all hair types. I have thin hair which straightens very quickly with this flat iron, but i have also straightend my sister's hair which is coarse, wavy, and long and her hair was perfectly straight in under 10 minutes. It is well worth the cost and blows away any generic flat iron.
I thought this was the best flat iron

I did all my researching on this site when i decided to invest in a flat iron. The Sedu clearly was the best bet. Until now, I have been extremely happy with my Sedu. I have normal hair that is slightly wavy and the Sedu makes it perfectly straight and frizz-free. But just last week, I noticed that my Sedu had an electrical short and would not stay on the entire time it was plugged in. This was very disappointing, seeing how i spent a great deal of money on what was supposed to be the best straightener out there, only to have it break on me less than a year later. I'm not sure if other people have had this problem but I know it isn't my fault as i've not dropped or had water spilt on my Sedu. Just a heads up to everyone else thinking about buying the Sedu, watch out.
small, but efficient!

it heats up fast, it's light (in any case you need to bring it with you somewhere), and you don't have to repeatedly straighten the same parting over and over!
people would never guess you ever had curly hair!
and the BIGGEST PLUS OF ALL-you're hair still looks HEALTHY when it's straight...just don't try to straighten it while it's sill wet.

My hair is thick, frizzy, and poofy (though definitely not the worst out there.) I saw the pictures on Folica after my Revlon fried itself out, and decided to try the Sedu because everyone's hair looked amazing. I got it today and tried it immediately.
WOW!
My hair is unbelieveably straight, soft, and glossy. Five stars :)
not what i expected

I had been using my friends chis and they worked really well so i decided to invest in a flat iron. orinally i was goign to get a chi but then i read all the reviews about the sedu and i was persuaded to buy one. It worked but I like the chi better because it leaves my hair thinner and straighter and lasts for longer. I have wavy, straight long hair and the sedu straightened it but it wasnt much better than an average straightener. I would go for the chi.

The Sedu is great! It costs a lot of money, but it's definitely worth it. I have curly, frizzy hair, and it straightens it only on the second lowest level! It makes my hair soft and shiny. I would highly recommend.
MUST BUY!!!

I recently bought this for my daughter for her birthday. She has really curly hair and the Sedu works perfectly for it. She has been using a cheap flat iron that she bought at Wal-Mart and it would take her two hours to straighten her hair and her hair always smelled burnt. With the Sedu, she can straigten her hair in one hour and her hair does not have that burnt smell to it. She absolutely loves it and I would recommend nothing other than Sedu. It is a little pricy, but it works great and you will definately get your money's worth. It is a great buy.
Good, but not that good!

Well, I did a lot of research before buying my flat iron b/c I have really really thick hair and it just takes too long to straigten it. The Sedu was the one with the best reviews overall on all web sites so I went with it. I like it a lot, but it does still pull from time to time and I still have to go over each section more than once. I guess maybe my expectations are unreasonable? Is there not such a thing as the perfect hair straigtener? Well, if not, this one is at least close. The best one I have used thus far.
I love Seduing!!

Okay, So i was very unsure about the Sedu. i have always used any 20$ flat iron from walmart on my very curly long hair. and there were always okay, until i went outside! it is really humid 99% of the time here. If i were lucky i would have one good hair day a month. So i decided to just go for it, after reading all the good reviews about the Sedu. It is AWESOME!! My hair looks pin straight, silky and has tons of shine! Just Do it!!! you won't regret it!
Love it!

The first time i tried my Sedu I as amazed - I couldnīt believe how soft and straight my hair became, and sooo fast!
I also believe that there is a learning curve with the Sedu - the more you use it, more you get a better result. Also, it works better when the hair is completely dry.
I highly recommend.

I was kind of surprised at how light and chintzy the body of the product was. The name was also partially scratched off the wand, which made me wonder if it had been used before. I also turned the switch "on", but I kept waiting and waiting and nothing happened, so I pushed hard toward the "on" direction, and then the green light went on showing that the product was heating up. I think when you push something to the "on" side, it should turn on without needing to really push it over to the side to make sure it makes contact with whatever wire it needs to contact to turn on. So...overall...I did like the way it straightened my hair, although I have a $250 HAI straightener that is probably pretty much the same. This one is small and light compared to the Hai, so it's easier to maneuver, but seems cheaper. I think it works as well as can be expected, and the only reason I'm not returning it since it works pretty much as well as my Hai is because it's thinner and much lighter. I am, however, worried about that "on" switch.
Ehhh wrong type =/

I ordered this Sedu hair straightener after my other one broke and I really expected alot of this because of the reviews and it sorta did do it's work but it pulled the ends of my hair slightly. It's pretty heavy but it did straighten my hair..it just didn't do it the way I wanted to. Oh well better luck next time.
YEAH, I AM PISSED.

I paid $200 dollars for this straightener, and it BROKE after 6 months! It just STOPPED WORKING! No doubt, it straightened my hair GREAT, but it's built poorly. Not at all made to last very long. Buy a Solia, it's more dependable :)
NOTHING LIKE IT !

I love the Sedu iron, my friend at work told me about it and she has been using it for about a year, her hair looks great, never dry. MY hair was recently colored and highlighted for the first time and was actually dry before I used the Sedu. I have been using it for about three weeks and my hair looks and feels healthier. I couldn't believe it. All my friends want to come over and try it on thier hair. I use it every morning am very happy with my Sedu.
AWESOME!

This product is amazing! I was raised in a house where spending large amounts of money on non-necessities is frowned upon, so I felt really guilty as I was ordering this - but I can honestly say now that the Sedu is worth every penny! I used to own a Chi, which I loved, until it stopped heating up after less than a year. I have very thick, curly hair, and the Chi took about an hour to straighten it, even though it is fairly short. The Sedu made it straighter, smoother, and shinier than the Chi EVER did, in only 25 minutes! It's amazing. After I would use my Chi, my hair would feel very dry, like straw. Now it feels very soft and silky though. I love it!!!!
awesome but breaks easily

i have already had 2 sedu hair straightners in the period of 5 months which have both broken on me! they did wonders on my hair but because they are made so crappy they fall apart easily. folica has helped me in replaceing them for free and now im on my third straightner but i got the FHI instead. so if you have one, be EXTREMELY careful with them, they fall apart easily.
Great product and worth the $ spent

I bought the Sedu product recently and was not disappointed. Directions were easy and the results were fabulous. The Sedu is light weight and easy to use. Although pricey, it is worth every penny. The ceramic flat iron does not pull or dry out your hair. Results are smooth, silky, beautiful hair. It heats up in about 20 seconds and I put the setting at 360 degrees (for Asian hair). Just to let people know, Asian hair can be thick, frizzy, and wavy as you get older, and this product allows you to have silky smooth straight hair again like you had when you were younger. To enhance hair shine and silkiness, use John Frieda brilliant shine for brunettes shampoo and conditioner, and Garnier Fructis smoothing milk before blow drying hair as straight as possible. Use Sedu on dry hair only. I highly recommend this product as an alternative to enhancing your hair.
Best I have had

This is the best straightener I have ever had! It is 100 degrees this week where I live and HUMID! But this appliance has kept my naturally wavy hair straight and frizz free. It is very smooth and easy to operate.
Phenomenal!

I stopped putting a relaxer in my hair about a year ago because of the vicious cycle of damage it creates. I bought the Sedu and I couldn't be happier! My hair stays straightened even in humidity. I don't detect damage.I have been using it for several months. My hair would immediatetly show damage if this was the case. My hair is the longest it's been in years. I believe I'll finally have the waist length hair like I had as a child.
Worth the price!
