My daughter has long thick hair. The iron she had before always took so long for her to get the desired look she wanted. Now with the Sedu iron, it only takes one pass through her hair and she has the beautiful long locks she's always wanted. I love this product for myself also. A+

I've been straightening my hair everyday cause it's so easy and fast BUT I would suggest using special hair products cause my hair has dried up! =/

This flat iron is one of the first I've owned that does not snag and pull my hair. The plates are so smooth that my hair goes through it without a struggle. It also does not seem to dry my hair out as badly, leaving it softer and smoother.

My daughter has naturally curly hair and wanted it to be straight. We had bought a straightener in a department store, but it made her hair frizzy, didn't straighten very well, and took a long time to accomplish the look she was trying to achieve. I was a little apprehensive to spend so much on a flat iron but I would have to say it is definetely worth it and you do get what you pay for. This is by far the best I have ever used. You won't be disappointed!

I'm a reporter for a local television station, and have avoided using straighteners due to the fact they've damaged my hair in the past. This Sedu is genius! It heats up in 30 seconds, so when I need to get ready for the show, I can just do a quick touch up, and I'm good to go. The results are shiny, straight hair that isn't all dried up at the ends. I won't use any cheapo products ever again! :)

I love this flat iron. I had a old cheap Hot Tools iron that worked but fried my hair and it was huge! This one works better, and is better for my hair. My hair looks great straight or curly. I can't believe how easy it is to curl my hair with a straightener! So, this iron is great for my thick, coarse and frizzy hair.

I recently allowed my perm to grow out for a bit and relied solely on straightening shampoos (very limited success with African American hair), blow dryers with comb attachments, and the Sedu flat iron. Honest assessment: I enjoyed the job it did with me hair, although it takes a little more effort for very coarse hair (like mine).
Although I will likely return to using a perm, I am convinced that if it could handle my hair in its natural state, it will do WONDERS with a little extra help from relaxing!

Okay because i have very curly hair i am what my friends call me the straightener queen (because i know so much about them and i have gone throught so many different brands) but i have to say so far the SEDU is better than anything else i have tried for the following reasons:
-your hair is straight the first time, there is no need to keep going over it.
-your hair stays straight
-this straighter does not pull your hair
-it runs very smoothly through your hair
-Its just awesome.. definately high end and top of the line

While I have no complaints about how the Sedu Straightener works (it heats up quickly and straightens sleekly), I find the design of the appliance itself to be very poor. When I use it, my palm gets pinched (ouch)! I have used quite a few other straighteners (expensive and cheap), and none of them are designed with this flaw. I thought about returning it for that reason, but have not had the time so I am just going to use it but with caution (or I might put some foam rubber over the 'pincher'). Anyway, it's a crummy design for a pricey straightener. I think the Hai 2 (which my daughters have) is better.
I was expecting much more for the amount I spent.

I based my decision off other reviews, so I hope my own review helps you. My bion finally fizzled out after a two-year love affair, and I was looking to try something new. I have what you'd call "normal" hair--medium thickness,medium length, and naturally wavy. I am very picky about my flat irons; I am willing to spend a good amount of money to buy something that will make my hair stick straight without drying it out or snagging it, as well as something that heats up fast. The sedu heats up fast, and it has a very high temperature capacity,but it just doesn't make my hair as straight as I like it. I still end up with a bit of wave. Perhaps it is because the device is so light, it doesn't lend enough pressure. My cheap backup from the drugstore works better (although it is drying to my hair b/c it does not have high-quaility plates). If you want something of professional quality, do not buy the sedu.

I recently purchased the 1 1/2 inch Sedu flat iron. I am a licensed cosmetologist for 8 years now and I have used a lot of straighteners since I have started doing hair. I have never had one that I love as much as this one. The other ones pull the hair and never smooth out the hair like this one. I have used it on extremely natural curly hair and the results came out beautiful. I also love it on my own hair which is wavy and very coarse. It cuts down the time of straightening a lot. You will love this flat iron if you buy it. It is well worth the money.

This is so much better than my Solano mini travel iron, which did do the job when we went to Paris but my hair gets stuck in the edges by the plate and gets pulled out. Ouch! The Chi was my first iron and it was very good, but it shorted out after 7 months. The Sedu is the best that I've tried, I love it!

I am very happy with this straightener, I was skeptical at first, but it truly does a great job at straightening my hair in under 8 minutes and it never frizzes up or becomes wavy in humidity- I wish I would have bought this a long time ago. The case/pouch it comes with is great for keeping your iron from damaging any surfaces.

I really like the way it straightens my hair. I did have some skipping with it meaning when I pulled my hair through it wasn't one fluid pull all the way through. This did leave some kink marks in my hair but I was able to smooth them out. I have to use it on the highest setting to get my hair straight. I have think curly hair just about shoulder length and it takes me about 20-25 minutes to straighten it with this iron. This is the best flat iron I have ever used. My stylist uses the Chi and I was going to buy one of those but based on the reviews I opted for the Sedu. I have never used the Chi myself so I dont know which one would be better they both get my hair really straight.
