To those of you with extremely thick, long, course, curly, somewhat ethnic hair, please note the following:
I have very long, course, curly, unruly hair. It generally takes me 15 minutes just to get a comb though it after showering. Going from the shower with a wet head to dry, straight hair typically takes me 4 hours. Consequently, I tend to wear my hair curly, except once in a great while. While I have just bought this Sedu a month ago and I have only used it once, I found that it does do the trick. My hair actually got straighter and glossier than I would have prefered. (I went to having bushy hair to extremely flat hair that had absolutely no body) The Sedu did seem to shorten the length of time needed to straighten my hair; but, not by much. I have had other much cheaper straightening irons that I have bought at beauty supply stores that get just as hot and straighten my hair just as well; however, I have found that the Sedu glides through hair much better than most straightening irons and doesn't tear out hair like the others do. How long this Sedu straightening iron will last me is hard to tell, but I guess if you want to protect your hair and keep it on your head this would be a good model to use.

This straightener is soooo good. The thing is that my hair sometimes gets dry and it sometimes breaks too. But i defintley think that it is wayyyyyyy better than my other straighteners! i do recommend this. I would have gave it a 5 star, but i can't get to my roots as well.

My hair dresser talked me into purchasing an expensive flat iron. She recommended the Superstarr. After going online for several hours, I found that most people preferred the Sedu. It came about a week ago and I have received endless compliments on "how great my hair looks". I have had four people this week ask me for my sylist phone number. It only take about twenty minutes every other day to have perfect hair. The free pouch is an added plus. I accidently left it on over night with clothes piled on top of it and it was fine:) Opps!Anyone with kids should buy the pouch.

This product delivers ALL it promises!! I am so happy that I invested in the SEDU. I've tried the CHI, Paul Mitchell, and other generic brands. The SEDU is the best for my thick, coarse, long hair and living in an area where we have high humidity.

I have been through about 20 flatirons, all different brands and prices, and have never used one that compares to the Sedu. My friend has a Chi,and let me use it, but I was far from impressed with the results. I ordered the Sedu on Friday, I was billed on Monday, and got my Sedu on Tuesday afternoon. Talk about service. I was thrilled with the super-fast shipping alone. Then I tried this flatiron. It glides right through your hair, NO SNAGGING! (my hair is very long and prone to snagging) It made my hair smooth and straight and glossy. The PERFECT flatiron from the PERFECT company!!!!

This is an awesome straightener from Sedu that does what it says it will. It works fantastically alongside Biosilk's Silk Therapy. Put these two together and you will have the silkiest, softest hair you cold ever want. Hair straightens with ease and in far less time than any other straightener I have used. It was well worth the extra money...I'll save that in utilities bills in no time!! If you are thinking about buying a new, professional hair straightener, this is the one you've gotta have girls!!

I don't usually take the time to review products, etc.. but I was SO happy with this straightner, I am taking the time to do so!
It's lightweight and heats up SO fast!
I let my hair air dry if I have time, which leaves it frizzy then just straighten it in about 10 minutes!
It not only gets it bone straight, but also super shiny and soft! I don't know how it does it, but it's amazing! Worth every penny!!

After one use I LOVE this Flat Iron. I had a flat iron by Hot Tools and I liked it and when it broke in one year I bought another one after a couple of months with the new one I thought I would try something else so I bought the Sedu Iron and I LOVE IT!!!

Its a realy good iron. My hair is curly and this gets it straight in seconds. The iron is ncie and smooth and doesnt pull hair at all!

I bought this straightener for my girlfriend who has extremely curly hair. She has always had problems with the typical flat iron and then she became an owner of the Sedu Ionic. It doesn't burn her hair or take long for the professional look she has always wanted. There have been no complaints from her only praise. Everyone is happy. Highly recommend this product.

Does not burn hair even at hottest temp! Use everyday with great results. I Love that it adds shine and leaves hair perfectly straight. Very glad I bought it at Folica because their customer service is really good. Had a problem with the cord after 6 months and they replaced it without any problems. Don't think twice about the price--it's worth it!

I bought the Sedu after settling for cheaper straighteners in the past, and it's been great! I have thick, wavy hair, and the Sedu straightens it quickly and beautifully -- it's really cut down on the amount of time I spend on my hair. The flat iron pouch it comes with is great for travel and in general for storing. Just be careful after you run it through your hair -- your hair will be very hot for a few moments, depending on the temperature setting. A great straightener that's highly recommended.

something I am truley glad I bought. I have pretty Thick hair, but its extremly curly and I can't ever find anything to do with it except pull it back. I got my sedu by mail in 3 days of ordering it. The only product that has made my hair feel so smooth and has straightened it in so little time. This is such and amazing product and well worth the money. If you are thinking about buying this product you should really consider it. It has made my hair feel so healthy. I have gotten so many compliments about and i love it!!

I have used the Solano flat iron, the Chi flat iron, the Japanese Ceramic Digital Hair Straightener by Bion, the Solia and now the sedu and I can tell you that there is absolutely no comparison. The solano didn't burn my fine, wavy hair, but it did not withstand the humidity in the south. The Chi worked great with the humidity, but after a few weeks of use my hair was completely fried (and these irons are not durable at all). The Japanese Ceramic iron didn't really do much at all. The Solia didn't seem to have the power I wanted and it constantly pulled my hair when using. The sedu has the power to help my hair stay straight during the hottest summer months and there has been no damage on my hair and I have been using Sedu for 1 1/2 years. This is my second sedu. I got the 1" sedu the first time and I loved it, but I definitely love the 1 1/2" because it doesn't take as long to straighten my long hair. If I had to say anything negative about Sedu I would say that I was diappointed that my sedu wire malfunctioned a few days after my 1 year warranty. But I will have to say that all the flat irons I have had usually need some type of repair within a year or two. I guess that is just the way they make them. I think they should be more durable, but I hate to complain when I get such great results from the sedu. This is definitely worth the money!!!

I have used tons of different straighteners because I like the uniform sleek look they give eventhough my hair is normally straighter than it is curly. This one is light as a feather and produces amazing results without that burning sizzel. My hair feels soft and healthy in seconds. I think its the best and worth the price when its $126.
