I live in Alabama, where the summers are very hot and humid. This always caused problems for my very very curly hair. I've tried several straighteners and they seemed to work, but ten minutes after I was finished, my hair started curling and getting frizzy at the bottom. Over the course of the day, it would only get worse until I had no choice but to pull my hair up in a ponytail..even then it looked like a poof ball on my head. The very first time I tried the Sedu Flat Iron, my hair was stick straight, shiny, and smooth. Like I had been born with naturally straight hair. It stayed like that for two days until I washed it again! It even stayed perfectly straight and smooth through a whole day of rain! Since then I have never had a problem with it. I can straighten my hair in 15 minutes and be done until I wash it again. This used to take me two hours! I would highly recommend this to anyone with really thick, curly hair because IT WORKS!!!

Bought immediatly after trying my friend's Sedu. I have very curly and long hair, and can get it pin straight in less than an hour! Definitly worth the $!

This thing is great! I have long, wavy, frizzy Italian hair, and had bought a flat iron a while back (Ceramic Tools) and didn't like it much. It fried my hair and I never got the results it promised. Then, one of my friends told me about buying the Sedu Ionic Tourmaline flat iron. The next time I saw her, her hair--which is as thick and wild as mine--looked incredible: sleek, shiny, straight and beautiful. So I ordered one and it worked exactly as promised. And it's really fast, too. Last year a professional flat ironed my hair and it took at least a half hour. But with this model, it took about 10 minutes to do the whole wild mop the first time I used it. I was very, very happy. So if you want to try a flat iron, this is it. It's really worth the money.

I love my new Sedu flattening iron. I had a cheap, 1" iron before, and always though straightening my hair had to take FOREVER! My sister had a Sedu and I tried it - the next day I ordered one online! It's so fast to use - it gets really hot and has a wide flattening surface. Now it takes me about 10 minutes or less to finish my hair. I HIGHLY recommend this iron! - Derinda

I purchased my last Sedu flat iron for my boss. She had tried mine and loved it . . . her birthday was coming up so I purchased one for her birthday and she was absolutely thrilled. She got a new hairstyle that required straightening. With the Sedu flat iron she is able to style her hair in minimal time, which is a good thing because she is always on a tight schedule. I would recommend the Sedu flat iron above all others. I have purchased three so far and will most likely purchase more in the future.

I really don't know what else there is to say... It's amazing. It's helped to cut my straightening time in half almost, I can actually curl my hair with it, and it's helped to reduce spilt ends and flyaways because it doesn't break my hair off like my old one. It's just great.
If you're undecided about purchasing it, BUY IT... You won't regret the decision.

I didn't really want to have to spend $125 on a flat iron, but I decided to do it anyway - I was SO worth it! This is the best one I have ever used. I have naturally curly and coarse hair, and after using this product, it is stick straight and shiny. Other flat iron have caused terrible split ends, and after using this for over a month, I don't have any!

I had researched buying a new flat iron for months. I had came upon this item and was very impressed after reading practically all of the other reviews. I had purchased 4 other flatirons prior, probabably spending $40.00 on each. Of course after a few months they were so cold, I could dance on them. So, I bought the sedu. I must tell you that I have curly, frizzy, and baby fine hair, so I was worried that this product would not work on mine. When I opened it, I thought wow, it is easy to use. Well....please let me tell you that this product really does what it says it will. If you are like me and don't want to spend alot of money on products that don't work, don't worry. This hair iron is the bomb! It is fantastic. You will not be sorry that you bought it.

My daughter convinced me to buy this hair straightener for her because he hair is extremely curly. I wasn't confident that this straightener was different than any other, but it is. It works great and her hair remains straight all day!

I read all the reviews before I bought my 1 inch Sedu. Most are rave reviews and some are negative. I'll add to the rave reviews. This iron is great! I already owned a hot tools flat iron but was not happy with the results lately. I saw the price of the Sedu and was very reluctant to spend that much but I knew that my old iron made my hair look fried so I had to do something. I have a bob cut with thin, fine hair. I don't flat iron daily, just 2 days a week on average. I use product also, that makes a big difference. This iron made my hair super smooth and shiny..a little static but that could just be the product I used. There is a big difference from my old flat iron. Overall it's worth the money! Also, a cheap drug store product that works very well, L'oreal Studio Line Heat Seakers lotion. It's a light cream that protects from damage and makes hair silky, not heavy or sticky. Not everyone can afford the beauty store prices!

I have thick wavy hair and usually do wet and go in the summer but struggle in the winter b/c I can't go out with wet hair. My hairdresser had started using a ceramic iron and I was getting lots of compliments. I was a bit leery about the price of this one but it was well worth it. My cord keeps getting tangled but other than that I have no complaints. It took a few tries for me to get nice curls but once you get the hang of it it is easy and doesn't take nearly as long as my old hot curlers.

I read through all 2880+ reviews for this flat iron and concluded that I should bite the bullet and purchase the flat iron.
I've purchased the cheap flat irons at Target and they have all broken or shorted out (they were by Conair). I used them only for at most 6 months and they would crack in half. Not to mention that I would have to run them through my hair 4 times or more and it still didn't look as if it were completely straight. Each iron I purchased was about 30.00....I bought 3, so you do the math...I could have just purchased this one Sedu and been done with it.
Reading through each and every reveiw and though they did compell me to purchase the Sedu, I was still skeptical as to if it would work on my hair. I have medium textured African-American hair that has a relaxer in it (oh and by the way, try the Olive Oil hair relaxer..it's very good for African-American hair). I read somewhere that you are supposed to use a thermal heat protectant on your hair before you flat iron it, so I purchased the CHI Silk Infusion stuff. Let me tell you...the Sedu flat iron straightened the heck out of my hair...add to that that the CHI silk infusion worked great in my hair and it was not greasy at all. My hair now looks as though I got it professionally done at the salon and it my hair does not look damaged nor does it have any split ends.

omg!! this is such an amazing straightener!!!I just got it today and was very nervous to try it out because it was $120 but I'm so glad that i did!This is so great it's just the way I imagined it to be.My hair has always been a mess, frizzy, curly, and dry.I hated it!Now my hair is totally amazing!I can't wait to show it all off tomorrow!I also used L'Oreal hot straight heat activated straightening cream before I straightened it to protect it.I used to use a conair straightner but that THING is never going to be used on MY hair, EVER, EVER, again!It DESTROYED my hair, giving it all these horrible split ends.Now I am going to go get a trim and make my hair look even better! and it only took 20 minutes as opposed to the normal 1 hour.THANK YOU sedu!!!

think again. i spent months researching straight irons for the best one for my hair type, and I finally came across this one. It's been a God-sent for me. I've used my friends Chi's, and my salon stylist even used a chi one me (amazing) but after all the bad reviews (ie. melting, burning people), I decided to go with a better quality product. And aren't I glad I grabbed this one?
The temperature settings help a lot. The back of my hair tends to be thinner and need a lower temperature, and the top needs a bit more heat to knock the curl out.
usually after washing and drying my hair, my curls look like an afro. But after using the Sedu, my hair is straight, flat, and volume free, something I desperately needed. it's a quick heat up, it stays hot through the entire process, and it's amazingly light weight. so easy to use.
If you want something that works, grab the Sedu. it's amazing and well worth the $120 @ Ulta.

I love this straightner!!! I had the CHi prior to using this and i loved that too except with the amount of straightning i do, i got a lot of split ends. I switched to the sedu to try something new, and after using it for about a year, i have noticed a significant improvement in the health of my hair. It is super light compared to the chi, so it took a little while to get used to it, but it works really well, im addicted. My sedu actually stopped working after about 10 months of using it so beware of that. ive always taken good care of it and it started making a buzzing noise and then stopped working on morning. regardless, i love this product and folica is a great company because they are replacing mine free of charge. Im looking forward to ordering the hair dryer soon!

I was shopping for a new flat iron and comparing them in stores and on the internet. I came across folica.com and was able to read the reviews on all the top ten irons. I was convinced on the Sedu iron when I read all of the great reviews this product has. My Sedu iron came after 3 days of ordering this product. Both my daughter and I both love this iron. It is lightweight, very easy to use, and leaves out hair with a healthy shiney look. We both have very healthy hair and our last flatening iron left a burnt hair odor in our hair. Afraid we were damaging our hair we stopped using it. The Sedu iron leaves no odor and no frizz. We will soon be purchasing the Sedu blowdryer. We spend good money with our hair dresser and washing products. It only makes sense to use the best drying and styling products available to keep our hair healthy. We won't be using anything else. This flat iron is very good. It makes my hair soft,shiny, and smooth when used correctly. The only complaint that i have is that it doesn't straighten my hair to the root.Since my hair is relaxed, i have a lot of new growth that is very kinky and curly, near my scalp. The flat iron is too big to get to the root, which causes my hair not to get as bone straight as i want it to.

I have very thick, naturally super-curly hair, and with my old conair straightener, i just got frizzy and overall poor results. I have had my sedu for about 6 months now, and I love it! I can do anything with my hair now, and it is nowhere near as damaged as it used to be. I would strongly recommend this iron.
