I was buying the irons available at any local retail store. I got tired of spending 60 minutes doing my hair. Now all I do is blow dry and use my Sedu and in 20 minutes my hair is done. I don't have to keep going over and over each section to get it straight. Once is all it takes. No pulling, no frizz, just beautiful, soft, shiny, hair that my husband loves to run his fingers through!

My best friend has a Chi straightener, and I had been wanting one for a very long time. I finally got fed up with using my $20 straightener from Walmart, which yanked, pulled, and fried my naturally curly/wavy/frizzy hair. I did a a lot of research, and at first I had been very carefully eyeing the Chi, but I read a lot of the reviews and many of them said it broke down after a few months. I was still set on a Chi until I found the "top 10" straighteners. I spent a lot of time reading these reviews and looking at the before/after pictures. Finally I just decided to get one.
Many people said Folica had excellent shipping and it arrived very quickly. Even after they shipped it, it reached me in only 4 days. It would have been 3, only the post office here is slow about delivering packages.
Upon opening the box, I had found out Folica sent me the Sedu straightener PLUS the round brush. Weiiird because I was contemplating on getting that one. They must have felt bad about messing up my order. But I also received a makeup bag, a heating pad (which, in my opinion, is no where near a $20 value, but hey, it was free), a brush, and the straightener. I had quite the package right there!
I was very excited to use my straightener, but my hair, at the time, was already straightened, and I was getting ready to leave. The next day was prom and I couldnt use it because I curled my hair, and so finally, this morning I used it. It really did cut my straightening time in half! It was amazing! It glided right through my hair without any problem. And I only had to go over it a max of 2 times before it was straight. And I didn't even use the highest heat!
My old straightener (well I should say straighteners, I have to use TWO just to get my hair straight) would yank out my hair if I wasnt careful, and it didnt leave my hair feeling very nice. But, having very frizzy hair, its the only way I like my hair. It would take me about 20-30 minutes to do straighten my hair, and now it only takes 10. Its amazing!
Very sleek style, and the width is perfect! Very long cord, and it fits in any drawer.
If your hair is pretty curly and crazy, I'd definetely go Sedu!

I have had my chi for about 4 years now. Was somewhat satisfied with it. Then weekday, I am in the mall with my mom (took her to see the King Tut exhibit and had time to kill before dinner reservations - so you know I have a real job and normally work during the week). I normally blow off this lady at the kiosk perfectly located outside of the sephora store. it is totally dead in the mall so I figure what the heck. She spends 15 mins pitching this iron to me. I am not biting. For $200, I am jumping into anything. I come home and start doing research. I read all of the reviews on the Solia and the Sedu. I have a 20% coupon for Ulta and when I'm there I see the SEDU 1 1/2 inch iron. I buy and hang onto the receipt figuring if I am not impressed, it is going right back to the store. Having been a CHI user for 4+ years, I am happy that I bought this.I did one side of my hair with SEDU and one side with the CHI and I could totally tell the difference. The CHI side was not as soft of the SEDU side. And I could tell a big difference up close when I examined the hair follicle. There was definitely breakage on the CHI side. I do not like to wash my hair everyday and therefore when I wake up on the days I do not wash my hair, I can wake up like medussa and use a straightener and go. So keeping my hair as healthy as I can is very important. I would highly recommend this iron to anyone. I plan on selling my CHI on EBAY soon. NO more snagging or breakage is a blessing. I am very happy with this straightener. I am sure you will be happy too!

I had already purchased 4 straighters and to no avail they became so luke warm I could dance on them. With the sedu this was not the case. I have long fine but tons of hair and this product works wonderful. My hair actually gets compliments rather than oh my, what did that girl do to her hair? I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has hair.

I have not never had a flat iron before, though I have used one before, but I have to say that this one is beautiful. I truly love it so much, for my hair is very curly and wavy but after I blew it dry with your blow dryer then I used the Sedu polisher my hair was bounching and behaving. It lasted for me for well over two weeks. I would truly recommend this flat iron for anyone who is looking for a excellent flat iron, for I love it.

The iron is excellent. I tried many irons and this one helps me straight my hair quickly, it heats up in seconds the minute you plugs in and it gives my hair that silky look to it and not frizzy like other irons i tried. Its worth buying.

Well I bought this for daughter because being of mixed race her hair is beutiful but thick and long. We needed something to staighten it out without having to get her a perm. We are well pleased with our purchase. I will say if anyone purchases this straightener they will not be sorry.

I've gone through about 5 flat irons trying to find one that will straighten my hair without a lot of elbow grease and a lot of time. This is it. So far, it's been gentle enough to my locks that I haven't noticed any damage. I recommend this iron to anyone with hard to straighten hair.

The 1.5inch heating/straightening surface isn't as big as I hoped, so I have to straighten pretty small chunks of hair at a time. But still a great straightener; I have some hair that's coarse and curly and other parts that are straight and other parts that are delicate and frizzy, but it works great to straighten all of them. Plus it's the best price I could find after quite a bit of searching. Thanks folica!

my best friend bought this product and said it was great, she was right. I bought it about a month ago and have used it a dozen times. I have curly long hair and it makes it just as straight as the salon, except i am not paying $30.00 have it done. I also used it on my daughters hair and she has very nappy coarse hair, and I couldn't believe how straight it left her hair. That was the test of all test. doing my daughters hair. I recommend it to all. U will not be disappointed.

This iron is really great! Also adorable for its lightweight and sleek features.
I have used it for only three times and traveled to San Fransicso but when I opened my luggage the iron was stolen. I assume during the securty checks at airport. I had read in someone else's review too that their iron was stolen and had this in my mind while I was packing. So I placed the iron in middle of the suitcase in between layers of clothes, still I had to face the disappointment of it being gone.
So for some reason, people at airports like to steal SEDU Irons. If you guys are taking yours to a travel, I hope yours are not stolen. But for safety, try taking a cheap one a conair or something. Leave the expensive and great SEDU at home.

It's an excellent straightener! All of my past straighteners ripped out my hair when I straightened it, but this one does not! I wish the wire was a little shorter, but that's a minor thing. Best straightener I've used...stays straight all day & holds up well even when raining/humid day out. Strongly recommend getting this!

I highly recommend this flat iron. As many of you that are reviewing this product and other products, I wanted to make sure I spend my $140 wisely. I looked into the Chi, Superstar and other flat irons. What made me get this flat iron was:
1. all the positive reviews from the customers
2. this flat iron had a higher satifaction ratings
3. the sedu had a safty reset button
4. free hot carry pouch
5. this hot iron has a heat control options, there is not jsut an off or on swtich
6. the heating plate is bigger than the chi, it's about an inch an a half, great cause i have long hiar
7 . and this website was reader friendly, informative, and the other products they offered were very friendly.
