I had recently purchased the Sedu Flat Iron knowing that it can either be a bad choice or it could be perfect. I can honeslty say it was a great choice. I'm very happy with my decision. I have extremely thick hair and before it took me about an hour to straighten my hair. With Sedu Flat Iron my hair only takes half the time. I extremely recommend this to whoever is looking for a flat iron that does the job right.

My hair is actually straight, not fizzy like before I started using this product. And it takes much less time to staighten my hair. My hair stays soft and straight throughout the day even when the weather is damp and foggy!

The Sedu Ionic 1 1/2" Straightener surpasses any other flat iron that I have owned and although it is expensive, it does a superb job straightening my hair. The swivel cord is a great feature as well as it being able to heat to 460 degrees in 25 seconds.

It works well. I didn't have high expectations. I tried it and it straightens out my hair in a few strokes and minutes. The straight hair continues to last for a few days and makes your hair look lighter, thinner and smoother. I highly recommend it. Money well spent.

This product is amazing...I have very thick curly hair and have never had any product be able to do what this does.

I had to try this after reading so many great reviews. I have long, curly, course hair and no matter how I straightened it with other irons I still got the flyaways. With this iron I got super straight hair and NO flyaways. My hair is down to the middle of my back, and I can straighten it in 15 minutes easy. The only downside that I found was it is a little drying to my hair and made it almost straw like so I only used once a week. Otherwise, great product.

I've tried several straightener but i would say Sedu is the best ! I love the way it makes my hair so straight and shiny. My friends were able to notice the big difference and they are going to buy this product too. A little bit pricey but it's worth it.

ive been using sedu for abotu a year now, my first one kind-of died out after about 3 months but luckilly i still had it under warrantee and got a new one. inbetween getting new ones i was borrowing my friend's solia and i HATED it, it jsut left my hair feeling nasty....when i went back to my sedu i couldnt have been be happier, nothing has worked better on my thin, frizzy and very hard to manage hair. if my second one dies out, it would be so worth it to get another.

I have long, relatively straight hair (with some frizz) plus I am growing out my bangs. This product leaves me with amazingly straight hair, with perfectly blunt ends, plus it works great to train my (not quite long enough to tuck behind my ear) bangs out of my face. The thin edge of the Sedu does this much better than my older, fatter ceramic flat iron and better than my roommate's fatter CHI (with the red velvet). I love how it makes my hair feel - only problem; I find myself compelled to touch my hair all night after I've used this, because it's so smooth and silky. Not a bad problem, though.

I just received my Sedu flat Iron and I LOVE IT!!! I have tried all the cheap brands, Gold N Hot, Babyliss (curling and flat irons), and after using this product they are all going in the garbage. I am very particular about my hair and the problem that I have had with all the flat irons I have owned in the past is that they snagged my hair. I end up having more hair in the sink that I would like to. This is product DOES NOT SNAG YOUR HAIR. The hair just glides through the plates. I usually roller set my hair but even after sitting under the dryer for more than an hour and the ends are still frizzy so I set the iron on a low setting (no higher than 280 degrees) and just press it to get it a little straighter. I am soooooooo pleased with this iron. If you live in NY, select UPS ground shipping and place the order in the morning. You should receive it by the next day. After using this product and being sooo pleased with it only word of advice that I can give to my fellow African American women and anyone else contemplating on buying this iron is THROW OUT THOSE OLD IRONS and get yourself a SEDU!!! It was worth every penny.

I have pretty thin hair and it usually is still a little frizzy after I straighten it but this product made my hair feel like silk!! It seriously makes your hair softer than it was before!! I've tried a lot of ceramic straighteners and this one is by far the best! DEFINITELY DEFINITELY WORTH THE MONEY!!

I was recommended to buy this what I call "the miracle machine." I loved it. My friends from Miami, Florida and Washington D.C. told me I should buy it and I did, after looking at their hair. It works! even in humidity. You have to buy this product. Beleive me you won't regret it.

I was so excited when my sedu arrived, but a little nervous that after reading all of the wonderful reviews that it was to good to be true. I was not disappointed this flat iron made my thick, curly hair not only super straight but shiny silky smooth. AND it has stayed that way even after being outside on a humid muggy southern day. My hair looks and feels so good. I have had my previous flat iron since 2003, and I can not believe the difference after using this one. It was well worth the money. If you want to feel like you were born with straight smooth hair you will not regret buying this flat iron.

I love it!! I must say that the Sedu works much better than my CHI and it leaves my hair soft unlike most flat irons that leave your hair with a ruff feeling or burnt smell.

Believe it. Sedu is the best flat iron I have ever used on my wavy, frizzy highlighted hair. Prior to the Sedu, I was using the T3 which I had to run over my hair several times on a very high setting to straighten, thereby damaging it exponentially. Every week, I would vacuum up a bunch of hair from the bathroom floor thanks to the T3. With the Sedu, it takes only one swipe...and I have WAY less to sweep. My hair is pin straight in 10 minutes flat. Top it off with Biosilk and voila. Lovely locks. I've been using the Sedu for about three months and have noticed it doesn't get as hot...but frankly, if it breaks in 6 months, it's still worth it. I would have rated it a "4" for this fact...but honestly, I don't think there's any iron out there better than the Sedu. Don't believe the comments on Amazon that say folica pays people to make positive comments. That's nonsense. I haven't been paid a dime. And a word about folica - GREAT. Delivery was prompt and I received a complimentary heat pad and tote. This weekend, I'm getting the Brazilian Keratin treatment, but know I always have my Sedu to fall back on. If you're not sure you want to spend the $$, please rest assured. Sedu is worth it. Your hair is worth it.

It worked for about a year wonderfully. Since then it has a bad connection and won't heat up even when it is plugged in and turned on.

My hair is naturally curly and the only way to tame it and make it completely straight is to use a flat iron. Years ago I tried an inexpensive Conair flat iron from the drugstore and wasn't impressed by the results. Not only did it keep having to reheat to achieve the temperature level, but the plates tugged at my hair and ripped a few strands out. Also, even after going over the same small section 5 times, it wasn't completely straight. And the humidity would turn my head into a poodle.
Years after that horrible experience, I decided that if I wanted the best results, I couldn't be Ebeneezer. I went to the salon and asked them to recommend a flat iron for my hair type. I got the 1" CHI flat iron and it was on sale, although still expensive. I loved it and used it almost daily for about 8 months, however, one day, I went to flick the "on" switch and it got stuck. Then it broke off!
I take extremely good care of my hair styling tools (i.e. I don't wrap the cord around the handle, I never drop it, and I don't flick the switch unusually hard). So I was surprised when it broke off just like that. Then I was on the hunt for another flat iron...a better quality one.
I found Folica, read the reviews, and tried Sedu. Living in Canada, I was shocked to promptly receive my flat iron on Wednesday morning when I had only placed the order on Monday morning! Super fast shipping!
My first use of the Sedu flat iron has made me a believer. With the 1.5" plates and the temperature control, I straighten my below-the-shoulder hair in 5 minutes. With the CHI, it took me about 10 minutes.
An interesting thing I noticed was that my hair was straighter than when I used the CHI and it was noticeably shinier. My boyfriend told me it felt ridiculously soft too! This iron is lighter than the CHI and is easier to use. About 2 swipes per section makes it perfectly straight!
Also, while using the CHI, my hair would build up static. The Sedu flat iron doesn't! I am thoroughly impressed. This is definitely the BEST flat iron out there and the price is worth it!
And what's more, Folica sent me a free professional Sedu ceramic barrel brush and a free mirror compact! Those are nice little bonuses. I'll definitely shop at Folica again. They have insanely-low prices, products that are hard to find elsewhere, and the fastest shipping!

After trying a friend's flat iron and just loving the look, I decided to purchase my own. I wanted a good quality iron. I did a lot of research in finding a good quality iron at an affordable price. I almost purchased the CHI but after reading the reviews on this site I chose the Sedu instead. The reviews on this site were extremely helpful and accurate. The iron heats up amazingly quick. My hair has a funky wave to it when dried naturally. My hair looks sleek shiny and very healthy after using the iron. I love that on when time allows I can just let my hair air dry and then flat iron it. Never could do that before. I am extremely satisfied with my SEDU!

This straightener is like....perfect. I DEFINITLY recommend it! I have the craziest hair and i'd tried so many kinds and brands of straighteners and products, and this was the only one that worked. and it's awesome! my hair gets STICK STRAIGHT and FLAT if i really want it too. and, it heats up in literally 30 seconds. to 200 degrees celcius...in 30 seconds! its so nice!! BUY ITT!!!
