I have very thick curly hair & this straightener did a great job in about a third the time of a regular straightener. However, it died within 9 months of purchasing it!

I have a $100+ ceramic straightener that I've been using that I thought was so/so. I've been reading all the reviews on this product and decided I had to have it! I wanted to see if the Tourmaline really made a difference. Guess what? It doesn’t. At least for me anyway. What a disappointment!
I’m glad it works so well for so many. For me, I had to go over the strands many times to get it to straighten and it made the ends of my hair look dry, ragged and fly-away. I have fine that responds well to heat straightening or curling. I did one side of my hair with this flat iron and the other side with my ceramic flat iron – the difference was unbelievable. The side with this flat iron made my hair look flat and damaged (especially at the ends) and the side with the ceramic flat iron looked smooth, silky and perfectly styled.
On the plus side – it will make your hair stick straight if that’s what you’re looking for and it’s lightweight, which makes it easy to use. However, if you’re looking for straight hair with some bend in it – go elsewhere.
Buying this flat iron made me realize how good my old one really was.
Folica.com's service is excellent and I'm very happy with them. I will buy all my hair care products from them in the future!

I was excited after reading the reviews but I must use the old cliche "I've had better" to describe this product. I have had 3 straightening irons and they have all surpassed the sedu (1 was less than half the price!!!). So I recommend you search past the sedu for an iron that is easier to handle and straightens faster and better. I constantly have to do the same section twice to get the results that one pass did with my old one. A waste of my money for sure.

This is my best friend! There are not enough words that can describe how happy I am with my purchase. I never thought i would be able to do my hair on my own, but i did! I thought my days at the salon would never end, but they did. I am so happy =) My hair has more shine then ever and it looks way healthier. Thank you so much guys!

I am completely amazed at how much better it works than any other straightener I've used. And I've tried many! This is hands-down the best. It only takes one pass-through and leaves my hair shiny and smooth. Other irons took many pass-throughs and still didn't work as nicely.

I bought this flat iron after my maxiglide stopped working on me after about 4 years which I was even lucky it lasted that long, having heard how so many people had worse luck than me. I loved how quickly and straight the maxiglide straightened my hair, so I was skeptical if anything would work as well as it did. I was surprised to see how well the Sedu worked. It leaves my hair much healthier and just a quickly and straight as the maxiglide. I do regret buying the 1 1/2", the bigger one would have been even better and definitely worth the price.

This flat iron cut my straightening time almost in half and gets my hair straighter than I've ever seen it. I'm still working out the product situation--since I don't blow dry my hair but let it dry naturally, I'm having to put fewer products in when I plan to flat iron so it'll be "bouncin-and-behavin". I wish Sedu made a curling iron so I didn't have to figure out the technique for getting a bit of curl to my hair but I have been recommending this flat iron to EVERYONE I talk to.
I use it with one of those clamp brushes that works like a flat iron--kind of like using two flat irons at the same time...that way my ends also get really straight...I use the clamp brush with one hand and then follow with the flat iron and then the brush again--this minimizes the amount of heat I'm actually putting on my hair and also pulls the hair straighter than using the flat iron alone--I think the hair pros use a similar technique with a comb.
I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT....DEFINTELY WORTH THE MONEY--I'll submit pics next time I think to take them.

So of course I read ALL the reviews on flat irons etc.. and could not decide between both the Sedu and the HAI...I thought the HAI would work better on my hair being it was a bit larger.. not so. Actually, the larger size seemed more difficult to work with and my hair is only above shoulder length. Anyway, between the two, I found the Sedu was the BEST, my hair was much smoother and shinier. It just seemed to glide through my hair better and I have thinner/finer hair but alot of hair. Sedu is the best in my opinion if one is looking to buy, you wont be dissappointed!

I have worn my hair with a perm in it for about 25 years now because I have very thick, coarse wirey hair and the only way for it to look 1/2 way decent was to perm it. I have always wanted to have straight hair and a few times I attempted to wear my hair straight but because it didn't have that soft smooth look to it, I would always end up perming it again. I purchased the Conair hot air straightener and I liked it but it took too long to dry/straighten my hair and as soon as I would walk out into the Texas humidity, it would take on a wavey, frizzy look. I came across the Folica website after doing a search on flat irons and started reading the reviews for a couple of weeks before I made my decision to purchase the Sedu flat iron. The day my flat iron arrived, I used it immediately and I was in complete awe! My hair was so straight, soft, smooth and no frizz.....and best of all it STAYED that way, even in the Texas humidity and sleeping through it!!!!! This has been the absolute BEST investment I have EVER made for my hair. Now I don't even have to straighten it but a couple of days a week. I can wash it and blow dry it and it's almost completely straight - how amazing is that and my experience with Folica was just GR8 and I will continue to shop here for ALL my hair care needs!!!!!

This product is the BEST hair straightener I have ever owned. My hair is curly and very frizzy, and this straightener really made it straight. Also you get a free brush with the straightener that works wonders. So, if you are looking for a good product you don't need to look elsewhere. Just buy this product.

I have to say i was worried about getting this because the price was soo high, and i have never heard of this iron until i googled "Best hair straighteners" I wanted to go with the Chi because i heard that it was the best i read reviews on the Chi and i didnt like what i was see they brake easy and stop working only after a few times of useing it so i read the reviews on the Sedu and i had to try it. So the sec. it go to my do i jupmed my UPS man and ran to my bath room. I was in amazment it only took me 20 min to do my hair (used to take 45min to an Hour )and it look amazing so i wanted to put it to the test against the elements. I live in FL so we have high humidity. SO evey time i would go out side my hair would frizz up and there was no point in straightening it. so i went out side and hug out for 4 to 5 hours off and on. again i was amazed my hair was still straight, it even rainned. the i put it up to the ponytail test to see if it would stay straight. all day my hair was in a ponytail and i took it down at the end of the day and lightly took a brush to it and again it was straight. I have to say it is well worth the money just give it a chance.

I have to review this product, which is something I haven't done before, BUT this is the first time in my entire 52 years of life, that my hair is easy and manageable. I have never had much extra - financially, so this item to me seemed as if I was paying a fortune, but I have had enough with trying to make my hair look good, I will tell each and everyone of you, it is more than every penny I spent!!!! and then some!!!. I have naturally curly hair thats fine and works like a sponge with humidity, making it worse. Put that combination together and you get frizzz. My sister uses it too and she has curly think hair - It does a wonderful job on both, and I don't have to do anything in the mornings (except comb or brush it) till I wash my hair again(a comb!!!) I look younger and it is no longer a dreaded chore to wash my hair and make it look not just good but Great, in fact I look forward to it, it takes FAR less time than it ever has my whole life. This is a fact! Thank-you kindly Sedu for making my life easier and hassle free.

Purchased one two years ago and the cord broke, but it still worked...somewhat. I couldn't go with out it, I had to replace it. My hair is long, curly, thick and frizzy. After twenty minutes my hair is soft, straight and silky smooth. I haven't found another product like this one. I recommend it to any one who has problem hair like me. This site is great! My hair is curly, and look so ugly every time, I tried many Straighteners but doesn't seems work for me and hurt my hair as well. I saw this Straightener when I went through the review for Straighteners at CNET.com, and I read all the review and saw a lot of examples are pretty good. After I purchased it, I found out most people know the straightener from Folica.com were the popular one in the world now, and I am happy because save me a lot of times for making my hair straight, due to usually I need to spent around 30 minutes to make it straight. and now my hair look smooth and straight when I go out with my friends, they all surprised, but it only take me about 10 minutes max to make it look really pretty, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED... i have purchased all different kinds of straighteners, none of them have given me the results like the sedu, it hasnt burnt my hair, my hair is so silky and soft, it stays nice and straight until i wash it again, i have extremely dry hair,and my hair has stayed so nice and straight for 3 or more days, that now i dont have to wash my hair daily, like i was in the past. i would recommend this to everyone,
will never go back!!

I HAVE BEEN VERY PLEASED WITH THE SEDU CERAMIC STRAIGHTNER. THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE CORD BUT I RETURNED IT AND A NEW STRAIGHTNER WAS RETURNED IN A FLASH.

I really don't ever review things even though all the great reviews helped me decide to purchase this flat iron. I recently paid $170 for the 2" CHI and was extremely dissapointed, so I was beginning to think that all flat irons (expensive or cheap) were the same. I was pretty hesitent to try this one after spending so much on the CHI and having no luck. I have thick, coarse, naturally wavy hair and this works amazing! I am so impressed. I will be a lifelong customer!! Trust me, this is the best there is!
