I used to have to blow dry my hair with a big round brush for about an hour (with a generous amount of straightening balm) then flat iron it for another 40 minutes to get it straight. Now, I wash my hair at night, let it dry by itself and Sedu it in the morning - 30 minutes and it's done. I love love love this flat iron! I haven't worn my hair curly since I got it.
AMAZING!

Really works!! my hair is smooth and frizz free...my friends normally say i have an "ozone layer" of frizz which thankfully has dissapeared!! It straightens my hair in around 15 minutes-give and take of course. but it always gets the job done well adn nicely...WITH OUT damaging my hair YAY. AWESOME BUY HIGHLY RECOMEND
good but not as good as everyone says

I bought this straightener after reading all the reviews on here. I had a babyliss straightener that just stopped working and I was going to buy a CHI but then I read some bad reviews so I decided to buy the sedu. It does work pretty well. My hair is extremely thick and very wavy. It straightens my hair well but some areas just will not get straight no matter how many times I go over them. It also leaves my hair feeling kind of dry. Overall it is good but I would like to try the CHI to see if it is better.
Worked great..... while it actually worked

This was a great straightener... while it lasted. Less than 2 years into my Sedu ownership, it shorted out (made a strange buzzing noise when I plugged it in... and then nothing). I didn't even use it that often; only on some weekends and almost never in the summer. And of course, the warranty was only good for the first year. A straightener that costs this much should last longer!!!

This is the 2nd one I've bought for my daughter. The first one has worked for a year and a half, probably using almost every day. She likes the quality job it does along with the straightener being light enough that her arm does not get tired. Recommend purchase.
NO MORE SWEAT!

By far the best straightener I have used. I bought an equally expensive straightener of another brand and it did not last me a year. I am hoping the same is not true of this one. I have never had a straightener get my hair so straight and leaves it soft and shiny looking. No frizz!
Loving it!

I love this iron! This iron is the best one i had so far! However, I think it is really important to protect your hair with heat protecting spary or something before using the iron since any iron will dry or damage your hair. So far, i'm loving this thing. It makes my hair shinny and silky. However, I'm doing hair treatment three times a week and i think that helps to keep my hair shiny.
I love it!!!

This is the best flat iron I've ever used. It heats up very fast. It feels very smooth going over my hair. I was nervous about buying it without ever seeing one, but the great reviews were for real!
Straightens hair without all of the damage

I bought this product after having used a ceramic straightener from the drugstore for about two months. The drugstore product completely damaged my hair. In fact, I had to get a haircut to cut off all of the dry, brittle hair that was splitting off after using that cheap piece of equipment. I have no problem with inexpensive items, but when it comes to my hair, which takes forever to grow out, I'm willing to pay more money for something that protects it. My hair is an investment, and so are my styling tools. I've now learned that.
With that being said, it isn't as hot as my cheap straightener, so it doesn't "set" my hair in exactly the perfect way that my other one did; however, it doesn't do nearly the damage, so I'm willing to sacrifice. I'd say it just takes a little more practice and "fussing" around with this one to get it right.
Also, I bought this product along with the Sedu Professional Hair Dryer. Turns out I rarely use the straightener because the hair dryer does such an excellent job of taking out the frizz, smoothing out my hair, and leaving it shiny. It's unbelievable. It really shocked me. If you know you have the kind of hair that needs a straightener, then I would recommend buying this product as well as the blow dryer. The blow dryer is a must. However, if your hair is not totally insane, see if you can get away with the Sedu Professional hair dryer before purchasing the straightener. You'll see. You might not even need it.

I bought a SEDU before I moved to the UK and used it throughout my years there (2.5 years with no problems). Upon returning Stateside, I purchased another as the voltage requirements in the UK and EU are 220v. I didn't even bother looking into other brands. I saw another reviewer was disappointed in that the SEDU only heat up to 200 degrees. For those that don't know, 200 degrees centigrade is hotter than 400 degrees fahrenheit. Just wanted to inform the public! Thanks!
Too hot for me to handle

I have long (about 5in past shoulder) coarse hair and have used both the Sedu (1 1/2") and CHI Turbo (2")flat irons. Here are my comparisons for the two. Keep in mind I wash my hair every night and straighten it every morning although w/either flat irons, my hair would definately stay straight for more than a day. The Sedu overall worked well, this has a higher temp setting than the Turbo CHI (400 as compared to 350). It's lighter but also feels like it's made w/cheaper parts, which is probably what helps w/the weight. Neither come w/a comb attachment which is what I miss most about my cheaper $40 ceramic flat iron that I still have - makes straightning easier/faster in my opinion. The sedu's plates feel alot better as it's smoother than the CHI, however that 1/2" difference did make a difference in the time it took to straighten my hair. I found I still have to do about 2 passes w/my hair for both straightners if i'm trying to go too quickly, overall it still takes about 15 min to straighten my hair which isn't bad. The only downfall w/the Sedu that made me exchange it for the CHI is the fact that i'm used to being able to hold the straightner at both ends to help straighten my hair quicker, but the head of the Sedu was waaaayyy tooooo hot for me to handle and I just couldn't get used to holding only the handle of the straightner. And again like I said that 1/2" difference did make a difference for me. The perfect straightner would be the parts of the CHI, the plates and heat of the Sedu and weight of the Sedu w/a comb attachment! If you're ok w/not being able to hold the straightner at both ends, I'd go w/the Sedu, I definately miss the smoother plate on it!
Its not as good as everyone said

I recently bought this straightener because my old ones would either break or not heat up enough. I love how quickly the Sedu heats up, and it keeps my hair looking very straight throughout the whole day, even when it is rainy! I would definitely reccomend this product if you are looking for a new straightener!

I live in Florida, which gets very humid. My hair gets so frizzy, so I bought this flat iron. But it doesn't amaze me at all. My thick, wavy hair goes frizzy after about 20 minutes after I straightened it. Dont get this flat iron. It sort of sucks.
