Not for me

I have curly hair so I thought this would be the answer to straighten my hair. My hairdresser occasionally straightens my hair with a blowdryer and brush and it looks amazing. I thought I could get the same results with the Sedu. I have to admit I was wrong. It straightened my hair but my hair looked really flat and wispy...some pieces looked like straw! I tried many times..I experimented with the heat settings, tried different products and different techniques.... but my hair looked bad..and you can tell that my hair is not naturally staight. Oh well, I'll just have to settle for my curls!
So far, I adore my SEDU...

I read reviews for weeks and weeks before finally taking the plunge on the Sedu iron. About a year ago, I shelled out big bucks for a CHI iron, and felt dissapointed. It took a long time and the results did not seem to last. I was hoping, for the $125 I paid, for better. I took a gamble and ponied up for the Sedu.
WOW!
The Sedu is fantastic. It is much more powerful, and much less damaging, than my CHI. It heats up very quickly, and straightens my long hair fast. I am pleased that the results last until I wash my hair again. Another plus is that less styling product is needed with the Sedu. Now, I do have concerns about the longevity, after reading the complaints from others about the cord/electricty shorting out. So, fair warning, I am only about 3 weeks into using my Sedu.
If you aren't happy with your CHI, consider this. Your hair will be straight faster, and feel loads healthier.

While it does it's job well the Sedu Flat Iron seems to be poorly made . It feels chunky and mine started having electrical difficulties after just a month until it refused to turn on alltogether so I jugged it .
Great product, but cord problems!!

The straightener is totally fabulous and does everything it promises, but the cord is really annoying because it keeps coiling up and I have to yank it apart, hence the cord's black cover tearing and wire exposed from underneath. I am now returning the product because of it's safety hazard, and I really love it but because of it's poor design I'm not so sure I want to buy another one...
I heart my sedu !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, I purchased this flatiron after much debate. I was considering a ghd vs. a sedu. I finally decided on the sedu! Mainly because of the heat setting. I was worried that the sedu wouldn't be much different than my hot tools flatiron. I worried over nothing. The sedu is fabulous!
1. I can do my hair faster because it's straight in one swipe.
2. My hair is flatter with the sedu than with the hot tools!
3. My hair is shinnier and softer than I have ever felt it.
4. I can turn my ends under and make it look like I spent a long time blowdrying with a round brush.
5. It doesn't pull my hair.
6. The sedu feels really nice in my hand when being used and glides smoothly over my hair.
7. I've only used it once, but I can tell that it is not going to fry my hair.
(BTW, I have big natural curls and my hair texture is coarse, my hair does not curl all the way up to my scalp)
I read some reviews on how some people couldn't stop touching their hair, I am one of them! My hair feels like silk. This product is worth every penny. Folica is Really fast at shipping! I'm a happy consumer!!!!!!!!!

Sedu Flat Iron is by far one of the best flat irons I have ever purchased. This is my 2nd Sedu that I have purchased from Folica...my first flat iron suffered a tragic death and I was devastated when I found out it was broken, so I have returned to Folica to buy another one just like it. You can't go wrong with this iron!

We love this flat iron! My daughters and I all have unruly hair and the Sedu flat iron does a fantastic job of straightening our hair. My only complaint is that 4 months after the purchase of my first Sedu it stopped working. There was a problem with the cord but I thought maybe it had been knocked off the counter or something so I went ahead and purchased another. I sent the broken one back to Folica to have it repaired and they sent back a brand new one instead...all within less then 1 week. That's great service and this is a great product! Works well with Chi hair products as well!

The Sedu flat iron is a wonderful flat iron. This ceramic iron is the best I have tried. I have very curly hair and am able to straighten my hair quickly without it looking dry and stiff. This iron heats up very fast and has the great option of selecting the temperature that you may desire. Awesome and worth every penny!
Curly, who likes the hair straight every now and then.
My crazy, frizzy hair no match for this baby!

I had previously used the Farouk Chi. The weight of the Chi always took out my arm by the time my hair was ironed to my satisfaction.
The Sedu took half the time, is lightweight and doesn't burn or dry-out my hair. I have crazy, frizzy hair that now surrenders to the Sedu! My results are shiny, soft and manageable hair.
Great product!

This straightener is the best one I've ever used! Before this my hair was impossible to keep straight. Now it stays straight for as long as I want. The first time I used it, I did it around 7 a.m. and I went on a vacation that was going to take an overnight drive and the next morning I woke up and it was still straight and very soft! I love it!
The BEST Flat Iron

This is the absolute BEST flat iron I have owned, it is also my 7th or 8th. Wish I had heard about this one in the first place. Heats up super fast, is amazingly light weight, and irons my hair flat and smooth with one pass. I let my hair dry naturally so it is really curly. It doesn't bind on my hair, just glides. Like I said it is the BEST. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to make what can be a time consuming and painful job into one that is quick and effortless. Well worth the money. Don't waste your money trying some other brand that might be cheaper - you won't come close to the results you will get with this one and you can damage your hair in the process. My hair looks so healthy, it is just amazing. JUST BUY THIS ONE AND BE HAPPY AND BEAUTIFUL!!!!

We have had the Sedu for almost 2 years now- my daughter and I both use it regularly, we both have very curly, thick and somewhat coarse hair. Amazing flat iron- every time I flat iron my hair people cannot believe that I did it myself, and how straight I was able to get it. We purchased another flat iron shortly after getting the Sedu because my daughter thought the "teeth" on the other one would make straightening her hair easier. What a complete waste of money. She used it one time and now it sits under the bathroom sink- and we have not given it another thought. I would and DO highly recommend the Sedu
The best straightener..

I purchased the Sedu flat iron about 2 1/2 years ago now and I still love it. It works just as good as the day I bought it. It was the best hair investment I've ever made. I like it much better than the Chi and the fact that it can last this long even after dropping it a few times and traveling with it is even better. Anyone thinking about purchasing a flat iron, should stop and buy this one. It's worth every penny and will eventually pay for itself.
Excellent...

I actually purchased this model about 3 1/2 years ago and am just now reviewing it because I have a whole new appreciation for it. I bought this model because I had long hair and thought it would be better to have the bigger size. And of course, I received it, tried it, and instantly was hooked. It worked beautifully and like a charm. I dont have really diffucult hair, though it is curly and prone to frizz, it is easy to straighten and with this flat iron it takes about 15 minutes (I only use it on clean dry hair). Recently I had my hair cut into a much shorter style, so I was looking to get the 1" model but wasn't sure I wanted to spend $100+ again on another straightener. I saw on a couple of message boards (or people who love their CHI's) to try the 'Generic CHI' sold at Sally's beauty supply. I went and bought it the same day and tried it and was actually dissapointed to tears! If that is anything like a CHI, I will never ever waste my money on a CHI. That Generic piece of crap (which cost me $70 by the way) is going back to the store ASAP! Right after using it and wasting an hour of my life getting my hair straight with it, I realized that I cant ever use anything but the Sedu again! So of course, I bought the 1" and hopefully it is on its way. I cant wait! I would suggest buying the 1" in place of this one as the larger plates dont work nearly ask well for curls under or flips out. Something I had hoped for. If you are considering something other than a Sedu and can possibly afford it (I do agree that it is a bit expensive and it doesn't help that Folica is the only store online that sells it, giving them a corner on the market and whatever pricing they want) you should stick to the Sedu. Once you do, you will know why. I realized when I bought the 'Generic' that after 'driving a Bentley' for 3+ years, I could never 'settle for a Hyundai' on my hair!!! After 3+ years my Sedu is still going strong and hasn't skipped a beat!

The rave compliments am getting over the past month after using this Sedu Hair Straightener says all about th eproduct. Earlier I bought a $25 Revlon Hair Straightener from some store and soon after my hair started looking dead. I was upset and abandoned it forever. After doing online research, and reading about the high reviews of this product, I decided to go for an investment. Am more than happy to do so. After all I cant' compromise the quality of my hair by buying some cheap product. Not any more.

i purchased my sedu july of 2007 and at first i though it wasn't good, b/c i really wanted to get a chi b/c thats what my hair dresser told me and it worked well on my frizzy, wavy hair. but after reading all the reviews here about chi, it made me decide not to get it. now i've been using my sedu for 5 months and its still working good and my hair is smooth...so much better than maxiglide, it burnt my hair everytime! the only problem with the sedu is that it gets really hot at the back of its plate so im always careful to not let it touch my skin and i just hold it at the handle. one day i forgot to turn it off so it was on for like 5 hrs, but i have the heat pouch so it didnt burn my carpet and my room it didnt smell bad at all... over all its really a great straightener,i love it! i use mine everyday and its easy to clean. i would say performance wise its as good as chi but i dont i think chi will last longer than sedu, and one more reason why i chose sedu b/c it got warranty unlike chi...

The best thing I like about the Sedu is that it really and truly makes your hair soft and manageable. I have been a CHI user for many, many years and I wanted to try something different. I cannot yet compare it however to the CHI unfortunately. I can say that it does not get as HOT as the CHI. But I do like it alot. But I probably will go back to the CHI once this one ever bites the bullet. I have to rate CHI the BEST ever. I also got the Solara and it is 3rd... the Sedu is 2nd so far.
