I started using hair straighteners in 5th grade. My first one was a $20 dollar one from Walmart that ruined my hair and took almost 40 minutes to use. I only used it once. My second one was a Cricket and I developed a very tough scalp from the amount of pulling and ripping it did. None of my friends would use it because it hurt their heads. I got another Cricket, but a better one, from a salon, and I thought it wouldn't do that. It did keep pulling my hair, and not only that, after a while (6 months I think) started not getting as hot. Eventually the cord broke, and it was useless anyways. I was always envious of my best friends' (they are twins) CHI flat iron. It made both of their hair very straight, even when it was naturally curly, and fought off humidity. So, when I went into looking for a new flat iron, I started looking for a CHI, because I didn't know any other good brands. Eventually I got bored and googled 'best hair straightener ever'. The first result was the 'top 10 flat irons' page, and I looked at list, and found the wonderful SEDU at the top. I started reading the reviews, and was amazed by this wonderful thing. I was a bit skeptical though because my hair seems to hate me, and no matter what I do the back sticks up. Plus, the humidity ALWAYS ruins my hair. But as soon as I opened the box, I was amazed. Here was a straighenter that made AND kept my hair wonderfully straight, with no sticky-up bits in the back. There has to be wizards involved somewhere in this flat iron, though I was not going to dissect it to divulge it's magical properties.
The first picture is of me yesterday, before I straightened my hair, which only took 8 minutes.
The second one is of me today, after going through the whole day and SLEEPING on my hair.
Amazing huh? I'm getting cramps in my arms from running my hands through my hair so many times. Plus, the little mirror and mat I got with my SEDU are fantastic. I reccomend this flat iron to anyone that reads this!

I love this straightener! It never get caught or breaks my hair. It gets super hot and leaves my hair Shiny, Silky, and perfectly straight. My hair even stays straighter longer on humid nights after using this straightener! Seriously I LOVE IT!!

I bought my first Sedu flat Iron in 2004. I had that straightener for about a year and a half. After a year the plates started to move out of place, and I was worried it would break. Well, soon enough, I broke it myself on accident. So, I replaced the old with the new, but this was a different version. Ordered the exact same size, but received a new box, and new straightener. I was not as satisfied with the second one as the first one but it still worked fine. After 6 months, it wouldn't turn on when positioned in certain spots. I never dropped it, never anything. The wires internally just stopped working. Luckily it was under warranty, but Sedu seems to be very fragile. Amazing straightener, but just be very careful with them. I have not tryed other expensive straighteners, so I am bias. Even though both mine started to wear out, I still wouldnt buy any other.

I have long thick hair and the 1 1/2 inch width makes it easy to do my hair in minutes. My hair is so silky smooth when i use this straightner, my husband cant keep his hands off it. I am loving the new attention and comments about my long blonde hair.

Sedu is my favorite straightening iron and I've tried a majority of the ones on the market myself or when going to the salon. After using a Conair for years and then upgrading to a Chi, I thought I'd found the miracle iron until I tried Sedu. I bought my Sedu after reading other Folica customer reviews and an article in Allure magazine. I have not been disappointed! Left to its own devices, my hair will form the dreaded Shirley Temple ringlets. But now, I wash my hair and let it air dry over night then iron it out in the morning. It takes less than 20 minutes, cutting my prep time by almost half an hour. Even with frequent use (2 or 3 x/week), my hair hasn't become dry or damaged. I really think that this is the best straightening iron on the market.

I'am a hair designer and on my client used the Sedu on half of the head and T3 on the other half and I was amazed at the difference. The T3 took a lot longer to straighten out per section than the Sedu. The Sedu left the hair very soft and shiny I absolutely Love it!!

I love this iron! I bought it after I read the reviews here and I am very pleased. I was shocked at the fact that when I straightened my hair, it stayed straight day after day even if I didn't put it up at night. It also resisted frizzing pretty well in humid areas, so much better than other irons I've used.
You can't see it well in the picture, but my hair was so shiny, soft, and bouncy after using the Sedu. In the first pic, all I did was let my hair dry naturally after washing. Then, I used a regular blowdryer on both sides and only straightened one side with the Sedu. The second pic was taken after I had straightened all of my hair. I cannot emphasize enough that this iron is really worth it.

this product is absolutely the best thing there is. i have really curly, frizzy, poufy hair, and if that isn't bad enough, i'm from hot and humid florida, so i was kind of skeptical about it at first. (before, i had a cheap straightener from walmart, and my hair would curl after only 10 minutes!) this straightener leaves my hair soft and smooth until i wash my hair! now i can finally wake up and face the day with confidence about my hair, instead of worrying if it will get messed up. the only thing i do to my hair is wash it and use conditioner, put frizz-ease serum on it, and spray hair spray on it while styling. it is really fast and easy. if you want you hair to look fabulous, buy this product! you won't regret it!

The Sedu flat iron is amazing. My hair feels soft and silky and it ironed much faster than my Chi. I have been using Chi original for about 1 1/2 years now. I do love that too and could not imagine anything better. I was wrong, Sedu is better. With my Chi, I have to iron my hair (each section) a couple of times to get it to lay flat. But with the Sedu, one time (maybe 2 if I get carried away) will make it flatter than I had with my Chi. It is awesome. - I have long, thick brown hair. (Latina hair)

There is no doubt that this is the best flat iron I have ever owned. I have mixed African American and White hair so my hair is WILD! It's also relaxed, so it's kind of damaged. I use the Sedu with Matrix Sleek Look Heat Protection Spray and after 2.5 weeks of using the iron (about everyother day) I can't see anymore damage done to my hair, unlike other irons that just fry it! With other irons (including the chi) even though my hair gets strait, it's still dry or poofy and frizzy, but not with the Sedu! It's also very light weight and easy to glide through the hair. This is a fantastic Iron!

I read reviews. I don't write them. But I was convinced to buy the Sedu by the pictures and reviews on this site. When I got my Sedu and saw how amazing it was in real life I knew I had to send in the evidence. I love this flat iron. It's an absolute must have for anyone who has curly hair. We really can have straight hair!!

Previously I owned a CHI and thought it was great untill it broke on me after a couple of months. So I was doing research on which flat iron was the best and i stumbled upon the Sedu so I figured I would give it a shot. I love it, my hair is sooooo straight and silky smooth. The Sedu puts the CHI to shame. It takes only 15 mins or less to do my hair where else it used to take up to 45 mins. So if you are looking for a wonderful; straight flat iron this is the one for you. It is the best one there. Im in love!!!!!

This iron works so well for my wavy thick hair that I have actually bought 4 over the years. I bought one for my home, one for the office, one Euro Edition that I can use when on vacation in Europe, and one Sedu Revolution Nano. What I really love about the Sedu is that hair just glides through the plates without any pulling, tugging or snaring. It cuts styling time in half and makes hair look shiny and frizz-free. I also love the fact that it doesn't leave hair so straight that you look like a flat haired hippie from the 60's. It staightens without removing the natural volume of your hair, leaving you with straight but voluminous hair full of shine, body and bounce. If I ever need a 5th Sedu, I will definitely buy one!

Maybe I'm just used to my old $20 ceramic searing and frizzing my hair, but I'm in love.
I have mixed African American/Native American/European heritage, which equals hair with a mind of it's own. I love my curls, but they are soo high-maintenence!
I only used John Freida Hair Serum and Wind Down Relaxing Creme, and then a heat-protecting spritz from Sally's.. and amazing results ensue (as opposed to the -count 'em- 9 different products used with my other straightener). The pics I posted are after blow-drying.
It still tugged at my hair, but just a bit, and I burned myself twice before getting used to it. The right heat setting makes a world of a difference, so try out a few if you find it doesn't work. It only took two runs through my hair at the second-to-hottest setting for bone-straight locks!
So I told myself I'd wait 24 hours to write a fair (ish) review, and so I have. It rained here, and it's above 80 degrees, and my hair is surviving beautifully, needing only a touchup in the front. Love, I tell you!!

I love my Sedu flatiron....I have owned it for over a year, and its still going strong...I have very very very curly tight curls...I used to pay alot of money to have my hair straight...now I do it whenever I feel like it...to make sure my ends don't look bad, I use a CONAIR clamp brush along with the flatiron, and the results are amazing!

I dont usually write reviews, but the reviews helped out a lot so wanted to help the others looking for straightners. I was initially going to get a CHI but after reading the reviews I found that become damaged quite quickly, also I didn't like the fact that it did not have temperature control (just an on/off button), Comparing both the reviews, I went for the SEDU and i'm a very happy customer.....excellent product..leaves my hair shiny and super straight. Folica was great in getting the product 3-4 days even though i'm from Canada!!

I had a RUSK 1 1/2" STR8 iron for about 2.5 years and then it started shutting off on me so I went on to this website and read about the Sedu and I was intrigued because of the reviews. It was only $125! and my RUSK was about $180....so i bought it and I love it!
It only took 1 stroke from root to tip and I have it on about 370 degrees. I love this Sedu because i doesnt snag my hair or smell when i run it through. The only drawback is that the iron gets hot so dont touch it on the outside when straightening.
I washed my hair, towel dried, and then put a dallop of RUSK Str8 anti-frizz/curl lotion and blow dried, then straightened. Its worth the money and yes, it does cut your time in half!!
