Bought as a Christmas gift for my daughter...can't say enough about it...she loves it and so do I.
The temp. dial is a bit small, but not hard to operate.

I am happy with the results the Sedu gave me, but it's been a year now and over the past few months, the power casing has lost some platic pieces and a screw pieces and so when I tried to reset the breaker on it for power, it didn't work and gave out on me today. I'm not saying I wouldn't buy Sedu again, but I would expect them to build a solid casing so that it wouldn't fall apart. Aside from that, the plates and everything else was in tact. My hair is wavy and coarse, but it got to the point it was taking a long time to straighten so I just got it chemically straightened and do the touch ups with the flat iron.

Before this, I had been using a Conair straightener from a drugstore. It was terrible; it split my ends like no tomorrow, it took way too much time to straighten my hair (I'd have to go over the same lock of hair at least six or seven times), and it left my hair feeling brittle, dry, and horribly damaged. I'd even find lots of bits of hair all over my bathroom counter which disgusted me knowing that a staightener was literally tearing my hair to shreds! So I went on Folica and found this.
I don't know how to thank you enough for creating this, it changed everything about straightening my hair. I'd wake up at 6:40 every morning, straighten my hair, then walk out of the bathroom at 7:30. But with this, I woke up at 6:40, tried it out, and waltzed out of the bathroom at 7:10! Thank you, both for the time saving AND the beautiful effect that this has done to my hair! I want everyone to know about this wonderful thing! It's changed how I felt about my hair. I love you wonderful, beautiful people who created this amazing product! And thank you Folica and the women who commented on this, I had a choice between this and something else 100 dollars more, but I definitely know it is not as good as this--nothing can be!

This Sedu flat iron is the first flat iron I've actually ever bought or used myself. As a first time flat iron user, I must say that I was very satisfied with the results (and have gotten nice compliments on how great my hair looks now).
I can't reference this to other flat irons, but from my experience, it is a fantastic product.
The Sedu is great!

I just got my Sedu straightener in yesterday. I had already straightened my hair for the day with my previous straightener so I waited until today to use the Sedu. It is great! My hair is smooth and pin straight, but I gotta say, just to be totally honest, there isn't a huge difference between my other straightener (a $50 straightener from Sally's) and the Sedu. I mean they are both awesome straighteners (thats why I still gave Sedu 5 stars), and I have thick curly hair. Overall I am happy with this straightener though and maybe since I've only used it once, I will be completely blown away after a few times of using it! Thanks!

I bought this flat iron based off of a recommendation from my friend. she had purchased another brand that I felt was a good brand and the temperature control broke within a year. This flat iron is great, I have trouble keeping my hair from frizzing up in the summer and the test was my visit to Orlando and Arkansas. It passed the test, my hair did not frizz up and everyone thinks I had something chemically done to my hair. I would highly recommend this flat iron to anyone! Too add to my recommendation, I have 4 children twin boys 2, an 8 year old girl and a 15 year old girl. My life is hectic and I work full time. I just don't have time for me, this flat iron takes no time at all. I dry my hair and within minutes my hair is straightened with the iron. It takes no time at all to do my hair.

I purchased my Sedu March 07' and fell in love instantly!! I have wavy hair with just enough curl that a blow drier and round brush would not be enough to straighten it. My hair is fabulously smooth with absolutely no damage!! The cord started causing my iron to not stay on anymore around October 07. I contacted the manufacture and they said the cord was not covered under their warranty. However, my husband convinced me to contact Folica who I purchased it from to see what they could offer since this item is not "cheap". I was ready to buy a new one. Folica was awesome! The responded w/ in a day and instructed me to return my iron and they would replace it! Folica was wonderful. I will definitely recommend this site to everyone!!

I bough the sedu flat iron in October. Although my hair is not course I have very curly hair and usuallyget perms every 3 months or so. Since I have been using this flat iron I have not had a perm since August and still because of this flat iron I do not need a perm. I love this flat iron it is the best.

I bought this hot iron a few months ago. I love it. It doesn't pull or snag my hair. It heats up fast and does a great job on my hair. It made the job faster than I am used to. I have waist length hair and it is pretty thick. I was able to finish my hair in 20 minutes. At the end of the night, my hair still looked great. I would definitely reccommend this hot iron to my best friend.

I have had my Sedu for over 2 years now! I have never had any problems and it works soooo great! my hair is crazy, frizzy, curly.... if anything ever happened to my Sedu i would still buy a new one! it is the best straightener ever! 2 YEARS AND MY SEDU IS STILL GOING STRONG!!!

This is an amazing straightner! I purchased a CHI a little over a year ago and it just went out on me. I loved the CHI and was planning on purchasing another one and then noticed the Sedu. I was little apprehensive but thought I would give it a try since it was on sale at the time and CHI was not.
I'm so glad I did! This straightner is amazing! My hair is smoother than it's ever been before and for once I'm able to pinpoint the exact temperature I want! It heats up in no time and maintains the same temperature the entire time. I have a very thick head of hair and my Sedu straightens it in no time plus it's silkier than it's ever been before, and I'm using all the same hair products as before so I know the difference in my hair is all due to the Sedu!
This is the best straightner out there! You will not be disappointed!

Before i bought the sedu i tried a lot of my friend's flat irons to see which one i liked best. i have to say, this one works soo much better than the chi on my thick, curly hair. Trust me, it's worth the money!!!!

considering the price i would of thought it would last longer, but i guess all straighteners die at some point. the cord started shorting out after having it for six months. i sent it back to take advantage of the warranty, and the same problem happened months later. the price would be more worth it if there were a 2 year warranty instead of one year. overall it works great on my mixed hair though. im just sad that it keeps dying. guess i'll try something new this time that's less

I purchased this flat iron after viewing all the rave reviews and great photos. I got it in October 2007 and in January 2008, while I was unplugging the iron, it just short circuit and went dead. I'm in the US, using normal household watts. I called customer service to find out:
1.) My 30-day warranty expired, so I can't ask for a refund nor exchange for another brand.
2.) There is a 2-year manufacturer's warranty but I have to pay for shipping and processing charges, and after Folica has received the iron, I will wait another 10 business days before anything is shipped out. When it is shipped out, it will be ordinary ground (up to another 10 days).
I use the flat iron for work, who has the time to wait?Sedu has produced a product that does not stand up to normal use. From what was told to me, I am not the first to have to return this product because of this plug problem. Folica will not step up customer service for a timely replacement. Folica can ship the very next day if I fork over another $100 in another purchase. It is just insincere customer relations.

I was very hesitant about purchasing a flat iron online. I came across this website and found that Sedu was compared better than a Chi flat iron. I started doing my research about this Sedu flat iron, which I've never heard of. The more I read, the more I thought "AWESOME". I purchased the 1.5 inch pro flat iron after much debate. Now, I'm glad I made my choice! I just used it along with Silk Therapy (spectacular product) and what normally takes a 30 to 45 min flat ironing took me 10 mins! I was grabbing my hair by the handful as well; and it all smoothed out, perfectly! I've never been excited about a flat iron in my life! Best yet! -- It doesn't pull my hair!

I've had many flat irons in the past but nothing compares to the wonderful sedu. I have extremely thick and wavy hair. My other cheap flat irons barely straightened my out of conrol mess of hair. With the sedu it acually straightens without pulling my hair or leaving flat iron marks on my hair. Without the sedu I wouldn't be able to have shiny, straight hair.
