This is the third Sedu I've purchased. Wonderful results. Have purchased one for myself and after my daughters tried, they each wanted one too so purchased two more. I've used both the 1" and 1 1/2" depending upon hair length.
If there's a downside - I would say it's in the hinge. One of mine has broken and it couldn't be repaired. I had to purchase another unit. Upon reading reviews I read someone else had the same problem. But I agree with her review - it's still worth it and I wouldn't buy another brand.

I've been using the sedu flat iron for the past 2 months. I have VERY thick hair--in the past I've relied on salons to straighten it. Since I've purchased Sedu I haven't been back to a salon! It does such an excellent job. It leaves my hair shiny and smooth. I know, I sound like an advertisement but I can't help it. It even works on african american hair!

Have nothing more to say, I LOVE IT!!!!! My hair is shiny, streight, soft, and absolutely gorgeous. No need to go to hair salons for a blow dry anymore. Takes 30 minutes with my LONG hair.
Best Straightener I've ever owned!

I love this straightener. Before my purchase I was concered that it would not get my hair as straight as a salon press because I have 4a and 4b type hair. Ladies you need not worry this straightener does the job and does it well!.

So I ordered this iron only because I was going on vacation and needed it, normally at home I iron my hair with a clothes iron (yes im serious) because every other regular flat iron i've purchased just doesnt do the job and im a complete straight freak - my hair HAS to be perfect..so i bought this because I new i couldnt use a clothes iron when on vacation and let me just say its amazing! it straightens my hair extremely quickly and my only intention was to use it for vacation and use my regular routine but this totally changed my mind, i now use it as opposed to the clothes iron and i LOVE the results. It may seem like alot of money but it's definitely a good investment and I would reccomend it to anyone, it also doesnt pull on your hair when you use it which many irons do it goes through quite smooth, I have to say most of the time i dreaded straightening my hair but this makes me want to do it all the time! I hope my review helps even thought i'm the 23482348 person saying how great it is but i truly love it and love using it !

I've tried every Chi iron and I've even tried FHI; however, hands down, the Sedu tops both. My hair is silky straight and it has shine and bounce. I have thick, long hair. It frizzes easily. Humidity is my enemy. Since I've been using the Sedu, my frizzy hair is a thing of the past. It has my hair looking and feeling like butter. Sedu definitely rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can not believe how well this straightens my THICK, CURLY, FRIZZY hair!!! My hair is so straight, and feels very silky and soft when I'm done using it. It is soooo worth the money. I was a little reluctant to spend this much, but I am so glad I did. A very high quality item.

I read many great reviews of this product so I decided to buy it for my wife for Christmas. Well, it came broken and having sat in box until christmas there was no time to get it replaced. After I filled out all the paperwork for an exchange (not a refund mind you) I have still heard nothing from tyher company. I purchased on 11/26/07 returned for replacement on 12/27/07. It's now going into feburary and even though I have written and spoken to people NOTHING has been done to help rectify my problem. This company only wants to get your money for once they have it they wont give it back or replace your product. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

I love this straightener. It works great. My hair is smooth and silky. I had the Solia Flat Iron before this and this one works much better.

I have really thick, semi-coarse, very curly hair, and this flat iron really works great on my hair. I read reviews on several different flat irons before I settled on the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline. Lots of reviewers have praised this brand of flat irons, but I never thought it would work for me as well as it has. It makes my hair flat, smooth, and silky. I highly recommend this product!!

I got both the Chi and the Sedu ... Chi because I was more familiar with it than the Sedu ... got the Sedu jus tto try it out because of the reviews on this website. I used the Chi first and was satisfied with the results, but when I used the Sedu it was much better .. like, 100% more better. Hair is silkier and smoother with the Sedu and it's definitely faster ... I still use the Chi but would recommend the Sedu more.

I have very thin hair and my other hair iron was damaging it very much. Now that i have the sedu, my hair is much healthier without the split ends the other iron gave me. This iron is excellent!

I bought this for my 16 year old. She absolutely loves it. It is so worth the money. I probably already went throught about 4 $20 irons in 2 years.

I was reluctant to pay that much money for a flat iron but I'm glad I did. I've had it for 2 months and so far it has worked great! I have very thick long hair and it use to take a lot longer to iron all of it but now I can do it in about 15 minutes. The best part about it is that it leaves my hair shiny and not dull looking. I always have someone wanting to borrow it. I hope it will last me a long time but if it doesnt I will not hesitate in replacing it asap.

This iron is great - my hair really frizzes quite a bit, and there is a lot of it, even though the individual hair follicles aren't thick. This hair iron does a great job, although I have to say that the Big Chi does a better job at keeping my hair stick-straight overnight. The Sedu looks great the day I actually straighten it, but as soon as I fall asleep and wake up 8 hours later, my hair is back at square one and not straight anymore (unlike with the Chi).
Sedu is amazing!

I absolutely love this flat iron. I had tried my friend's Chi and it doesn't even compare to the Sedu. It doesn't pull my hair at all like some of the cheaper flat irons tend to do. I love the temp control as well b/c I have really baby fine hair that can't tolerate some of the higher temps on other flat irons.

My Sedu flat iron worked great before it broke! I only had it for a couple of weeks before it wouldn't work anymore, and I had only used it maybe a dozen times. I had never even traveled with it or anything! It seemed to be something with the plug. I am currently waiting for a new one to arrive. I made sure to save all of my receipts, box and shipping information, so I am hoping to get my new one soon!
