I have tried several garden variety flat irons from Walmart/Target that were under $100. I had tried a flat iron in the mall that was ionic/ceramic and was SO impressed with the quality; however, the price tag was steep. It has been 2 years and I finally broke down and purchased the Sedu based on internet reviews of the product. THE SEDU IS THE BEST FLATIRON I HAVE USED! Even on rainy, humid days my hair remained STRAIGHT without even the slightest curl! I am so impressed! Well worth the $ spent.
This product also works FANTASTIC on my daughter's very long semi-wavy hair - it stays STRAIGHT all day long even through school and playing on the playground! It even performs well on her wet hair when little time is available!
Going on my second Sedu!!! =)

I've had my Sedu for 4 years already and it stopped working about a week ago =( (it's had it's share of drops and I've used it 2-3 times a week) I've used just about every iron from conair to revlon (the cheap ones, dont waste your time), I had the Solia, my mom has the CHI and honestly I'd pick the Sedu over them any day. My hair is long, wavy, and very frizzy I use the 1'1/2" and I finish my hair in 30 min. It always gives me great results. I've done my cousins hair and shes half black and she claimed her hair hadn't been that straight since she got it relaxed. My friends borrow it all the time and I've gotten alot of them to switch their irons. I think I should get some type of comission for that =P. I thought about trying the GHD mainly just because I've heard good things about it and because its pink but the price is ridiculous I didn't want to spend twice the money. Plus I dont think I could get my hair any straighter than how the sedu leaves it, it leaves me looking like I have oriental straight hair.

I had the chi for about 2 years and then it went bad on me , it wouldn't heat up unless i held in a certain position so i was going to order another chi but instead ended up ordering sedu after reading the reviews. I have to say i am happy with the way it straightens , it's pretty good! I think the results are the same as chi and i have just gotten it so lets see how it works out.

I have extensions and my own hair, it works perfectly for both. Just love it. I wish folica.com were better at delivering on time! Won't buy from them again, sorry guys but have to be honest.

Doesn't cut your hair time in half, but it is faster and more efficient. My hair is much healthier, softer and silkier. Heats up really fast, although not as fast as claimed. Worth the price for sure.

I'm trying to figure out why this particular flat iron has such great reviews. I thought it was average. It did straighten my frizzy, curly hair but I noticed some damage to my hair right afterwards, even after putting on a couple hair protecting products specifically for flat ironing hair... (both were quality CHI products).

I purchased the sedu after my chi needed replacing. I'd had it for several years, so I just wanted to try something different. I am not disappointed! I love it! It cut my hairstyling time in half and my hair stays super straight all day... my hair is curly and very prone to frizzing. I highly recommend the sedu.

A co-worker has this iron and I tried hers. I was amazed of how simple and fantastic this iron is. I love it. And my friends tell me how shiny my hair looks after using the iron.

I was debating whether I should spend so much money on a straightener but once I got it, I soon realized it was an awesome buy. It heats up so quickly and straightens in less then 1/2 the time my other straightener did and it straightens better would highly recommend. love it. couldn't live with out it. I can straighten my hair in less then 5 minutes including warm up in comparison to my other straightener that would take me at least twice if not three times longer and I got an "afroyee" look with the other

I was really excited to buy a straighter that did it all (curl, straighten and flip hair),but I can say that this doesn't work to curl your hair. It does a great job of straightening you hair. I have authentic hair and it's not easy to find a straightner and this does a great job of just that.

My wife has been very satisfied with the results of her new flat iron. Being a man, all I can say is I can definitely see a difference in the results from her previous flat iron to this one. In her words, she's had nothing but good hair days since receiving it on Christmas.

My hair is thin so all I need is touch it couple of times with this iron and I'm ready to go. I really like it. I only hope that it will not get worst after couple of months of using it.

My new flat iron works great! Unfortunately, the customer service at Folica.com is not as great... It took 2 weeks for someone to reply to my emails asking why I didn't receive a mail telling me my order has been shipped. They then told me they did not send it because they were out of Biosilk (tiny bottle they were suppose to give with the flat iron)... 2 weeks to tell me that...WoW! And I already have a BIG bottle at home. I wasn't buying Biosilk, I was buying a flat iron. They should have told me right away. Surprisingly, the day I wrote to complain, my order has been shipped right away. Not impressed by Folica at all but I am very impressed by my new Sedu flat iron.

I honestly read I think every review on this straightening iron. I had a Chi and it fell apart so I thought I would go with a different brand. If you have thick hair or hair that is remotely thick, DO NOT BUY THIS IRON. It states that it doesn't pull or rip your hair out that's a lie. It takes me like 5 times on one section of hair for my hair to be straight. It takes 3 times as long to straighten my hair and it doesn't look nice. It looks dry and coarse- So in other words DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

I love this flat iron! I have used the CHI and just about every other kind of flat iron. This is the very best one I have ever used. I totally recommend this to everyone!

The sedu flat iron is the best iron i have ever used, but after two months it would no longer turn on. i have sent it back, and still have not received a replacement. i have emailed customer support, and they state it hasn't even been received yet i have proof of delivery. i have been using a chi straightener while waiting for a replacement sedu to come, and it has been damaging my hair. hopefully the return department can begin to expedite this return a bit faster!! poor turn around time on folica's part.
Worth every penny spent!

If you are like me, you are looking at the price wondering if it is really worth it. I spent a whole month debating whether to invest in such an expensive flat iron. I am an African American woman with kinky hair that I am trying to blend with a indian weave. So, I really needed something to straighten my hair for blending, but I just didn't want to pay over $100. I finally got tired of thinking about it and decided to just splurge and treat myself. I am so glad that I did! As soon as the package arrived, I immediately put it to the test. I sprayed heat protectant on first and flat-ironed a strand of hair. OH MY GOODNESS! I honestly couldn't tell the difference in my hair and the hair extensions! By the time I was done, I just couldn't believe the results! My hair was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! It was/is silky, straight and just healthy looking. Ladies, if you can swing for it, I highly recommend that you do. This Sedu is all that everyone says it is! I don't think you will be disappointed!

I really like the flat irons. They are wider than what I am use to, but they work really well. They left the hair looking smooth and soft. I have only use the Sedu flat iron for a week
but I am impressed with the product so far.
