I have wasted loads of money buying department store flat irons. I would always try the lastest and greatest but was always dissappointed. In the results and the waste of money. I do not like to spend a lot of money for things like this. I had wanted a chi for years but thought they were too expensive. I found your website and they were half of what they are in salons. I ordered a chi. When I received it I was not impressed. It looked like it was made cheap. When I used it it would take forever to straighten my hair. It would never get it completely straight like I wanted it. After just two days there was a short in the cord and it stops working. I returned it and exchanged it for the sedu 1 1/2". It was more money but it had lots of positive reviews. I received it last week. I love it. I love the way I can change the heat settings. It is wider than the chi. It is very well made. Very sturdy. It is well worth what I paid for it. Don't get the chi, get the sedu. You will regret it if you don't.

I found that this flat iron is the best on the market for my hair. My hair type is medium as far as fine or course and is wavy. The Bio Ionic flat iron I have definitely leaves my hair frizz free and silky, but not perfectly straight. The Chi iron I had made my hair straight; however it left it smelling burnt and it had a short in it so I had to return it. The Sedu 1 1/2" is perfect for me as my hair length is below my shoulders and it leaves my hair frizz free and silky as well as straight on a setting of about 360 degrees. I have been using the Sedu daily for about 6 months. I always use a conditioner after shampooing my hair as well as a spray on heat protectant as anyone using any type of heat styling tool should if they don't want to fry their hair in the long run. I also highlight and low light my hair. My hair dresser even commented with my last trim how healthy my hair is and how I don't seem to have any split ends. I get my hair trimmed often as it grows fast, so I believe this helps but I also believe the flat iron and using a heat protectant makes the difference.

This straightener is amazing. It went from 40 minutes of straightening my hair to 15 minutes after getting this straightener and it doesn't burn my hair as much as other straighteners

When I first used my Sedu after washing, conditioning, and blow drying...I was quite disappointed. It was my frist flat iron, and I expected my hair to look just like the pictures! What I relaized the second time around after talking to my friends, is that i was not using the right products before straightening. I still don't have it perfect, but the second time my hair was a million times better! Before blow drying, I put John Frieda's Frizz-Ease serum and it made all the difference!
So before you think about sending your Sedu back, make sure the problem is with the flat iron and not with your styling regime. My friends have Chis and they love it, but I love my Sedu and the big bouncy curls I am able to make with it!

I'm going to be completely honest about this Sedu iron. I'm sure if you're on this website, you're trying to figure out which straightner to buy, Chi or Sedu? I found this website through a friend and she recommended the Chi. I wanted to buy it but I kept seeing this Sedu and I had a good gut feeling about it. I was right.
I have had my sedu for about a year and a half, close to two years. It still turns on, heats up under 3 minutes and I always come out with beautiful results. The only problem I had with the Sedu was the first time I used it, (like every other girl) I wasn't comfortable with it. It was brand new. So I turned up the heat to the highest setting and my hair on top looked "too flat" like it was oily. The problem was that I didn't read the fine print! For my type of hair which is usually straight but with a couple of waves, you need to set it into the 300's. After I did that, voila! I have never had a more successful buy in my life.
My sister and I both use it. Her hair is straighter than mine but much thinner and she does take the proper cautions in conditioning her hair but the Sedu definitely protects her hair from any damage. I love this product and anyone who gives it bad reviews, it must have been a damaged product. I'm an experienced Sedu user so please believe it when I say that you will not regret this. Oh and Folica delivered it with no problems and they sent me a cute little make-up bag :)
And for the questions about your location that you might live where the humidity is a "hair factor", I know what you mean. The Sedu takes care of that. Don't even worry.

I have pretty curly hair, and I ordered my Sedu about 3 years ago. I remember being so excited when I got it that I immidiately tried it out. It strighted my very, very long (at the time my hair was 4 or 5 inches above my knees)curly, somewhat coarse hair in 15 minutes, give or take. I've been using it ever since but unfortunately one of my hair products spilled on it frying it out.
Even towards the end it only took me about 20 minutes to striaghten(my hair is shorter now, around my waist). It has caused the least damage to my hair, and I've used many straightening irons. I'm definitely going to buy an other one as soon as possible.
Worth every dime!

I really love this iron. It works great and doesn't damage your hair like other cheap ones do. It is definitely worth the money, you won't regret the purchase. Oh and Folica.com ships the item very quickly!

This flat iron is perfect in every way. For years I have bought straighteners from the drug store or Target and they've gotten the job done, but now that I've used a Sedu they don't even compare! It takes me about five minutes to straighten my whole head, and I have reallyyy long hair, and it will stay stick straight all day long without needed any touch ups. This product is also excellent for getting wavy curls. I recommend it to anyone, its an amazing product!

I must say that I was a bit skeptical that it was going to work as great as advertised especially since it is priced quite higher than those found at retailers. I have to say that my new flat iron is worth every dollar I paid for it. I had already spent a total of $50 on 2 other flat irons from local stores and no matter how long I spend trying to straighten my hair, it never came out completely straight. This Folica iron not only does straighten my hair completely, it allows me to do it for half the time. I absolutely recommend it -have done so to friends and family-and I'm glad I took the chance to try it.

This is by far the best flat iron I have ever owned. It works with such ease and does a fabulous job. I have very damaged hair from many years of coloring/straightening. Using this iron makes my hair soft and shiny without having to use any additional products. You will not be sorry with this purchase! I love it.

I love the it. I have thin, fine ,straight hair, but I have one side of my head that my hair likes to flip out. This works like a charm in getting it to behave.

My hair is thin so I really don't need the flat iron to be very hot. I would say that some of the qualities of that flat iron are: quick effects, easy use. I wish I could learn how to curl my hair with this flat iron...
Overall, I would recommend it. I bought it 2 weeks ago. I really hope that it would last me at least 2 years.

I spent a ton of money over the years on flat irons. My husband did the research on the best flat iron on the market. I was, at first, very skeptical and concerned about the price. However, he bought the combination Sedu blow dryer and flat iron from Folica. After the first try, I was a believer. I have very thick, corse, curly hair, and the dryer got my hair relatively straight. However, the flat iron made it look like silk.
My friends all remarked how good my hair looked and thought each time I had gone and had it styled professionally.
I bought a complete set for my daughter, who also loves the easy and results the Sedu tools provide.

I have been using the Sedu for about a month now. I love it! I didn't know that I could get my hair so straight. My hair dresser always can...and now I can, too. It works best withOUT any product on my hair first.

I've had thick, curly hair my entire life - I did not think it was possible to straighten it, much less make it look like it was naturally straight, but the Sedu flat iron does just that.
Without any product and just using the flat iron, my hair still straightens but it doesn't look naturally straight. With a tad of product (I'm using a $5 off brand "Silk" product - nothing fancy), it looks like I have healthy, straight, shiny hair.

I love my new purchase. My hair is thick and heavy and with this tool, it looks it's best all the time. I never worn my hair down so much. My hair even looks and feels healthier. I can straighten my long hair in 6 minutes. The only draw back ...I have stopped traffic several times with my striking new doo!

I've always used Chi flat irons but when it finally gave out I decided to try something new. I read so many good reviews and decided to try it for myself. It works wonders! My hair is curly and thick and usually takes about an hour to flat iron but with the Sedu it now only takes about 30 minutes and leaves my hair shiny, soft, silky and super straight. I love it so much!!!
