I picked this iron based on the rave reviews on this site. But upon trying the Sedu, it just seems "average" to me -- nothing special. I was also dissappointed in Folica; they're supposed to be known for their super-fast shipping, but it took me almost two weeks to get my package in the mail. [Vs. just two days the last time I purchased something from them...but that was a couple years back]. I will be sticking to my tried-n-true Solano Sapphire instead.

I love this flat iron. Just got it Monday, used it twice so far. Have to straighten my hair every day. I hate looking like a frizz ball! With this flat iron, I don't have to do that. So far my hair has stayed straight for two days. It is so shiny. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

I received my Sedu about 4 weeks ago and I absolutely love it! My hair used to take 1.5 hours to straighten with my old Revlon flat iron and the Sedu gets it done in 25 min. with no chemical hair products (although I did use a deep conditioner and heat protectant prior to ironing). I have thick, voluminous, not dead-straight asian hair and this product does wonders. I never thought my hair could look so pin-straight, yet so soft as if I just came back from the hair stylist. I also tried curling my hair and let me tell you, I was able to make healthy-looking, bouncy curls w/o perming! Also, folica was amazing with the delivery considering I am from Canada and I received the straightener just 2 days after ordering. I bought this straightener based on the reviews that I saw here and I am so glad that I made the decision to purchase the Sedu. I held myself back from buying a CHI or BabyBliss or whatever else that they had in the salons. The Sedu was definitely worth doing the research for. For potential buyers, always do some snooping on the product that you want to buy b/c you want it to be worth the money. Good straighteners aren't cheap so invest some time making sure you get one that's of good quality, has some kind of warranty, and has received positive reviews. Bottom line: my Sedu makes me happy.

Simply said: I love it. This flat iron is the best I've ever tried (and trust me, I've tried a lot). I'm half Native American and African American so my hair is...just crazy. The Sedu not only straightens my hair without burning/damaging it but it also makes it shiny, silky and light. It also only takes me about 20-25min to straighten it, compared to the 45-1hr. My hair is naturally curly (which is very irritating when I don't want to wear it that way) and every other straightner I tried would straighten it for about an hour or so and then my hair would curl right back up. With the Sedu, it keeps it straight for days. HOWEVER, (with my hair) the Sedu doesn't withstand humidity...so that kind of sucks...for me anyway. But it's still a WONDERFUL, AWESOME investment and I recommend it to anyway. I'm a college student so I had to go broke for the rest of the semester just to get this thing but I don't regret it. So if you're pondering about it or have skeptics - don't! Just for it, it's great!

I just got my Sedu like 20 min. ago and all I can say is that it's awesome! My CHI iron broke and I was quite apprehensive to sway from buying another one but it was a great decision.
Everything that has been said in the other reviews is true!
Heats up SUPER fast, it's so light and really does leave my hair feeling healthy and shiny!
Oh yeah, the shipping was unbelievably fast...wow!
Look like you just walked out of the Stylist with Sedu!

The Sedu is the best gift I ever treated myself to! I used to blow dry my hair for hours upon end till the frizz went down and it was exhausting plus I was late everywhere. Who'd want to go through all that trouble just to look good everyday and start all over again? Whenever my hair was styled I noticed how fab it looked when they used a flat iron so I researched it. And Sedu had the best reviews. It was worth every single penny!! I now look like I went to the stylist everyday and my hair is wavy and long! I blow dry my hair to get the wetness out for 10 minutes and use Sedu for about 15!! A total of 25 minutes to look and feel wonderful! It heats up in seconds and works like a charm. I love it! Don't waste your money on the less expensive ones which do not work and are frustrating. It pays to buy quality and what a fantastic investment this was! Thank you for bringing professional quality to the consumer!

i used to have one of these.. but then it broke so i wanted to get a new straightener, but not spend alot so i bought the solia. this straightener works so buch better than the solia in my opinion. The sedu straightens every hair perfectly and leaves it pin straight, the solia straightens, but doesnt keep it straight like the sedu does. if you had to choose between this and the solia, GO WITH THE SEDU!!!

I have tried so many straighteners I lost count. The Sedu was recommended by a friend, (Thank you, Gina!) and I was amazed at how well it works. It cut the time in half and leaves my hair feeling silky and looking shiny. The only thing bad was that the unit would get hot on the outside when using at the higher temperatures. Other than that it is the best money I have ever spent. The only problem I have now is keeping my sister from stealing it!

HEY! i have BIG curly, shoulder length hair. after i shower, i used to be able to SEE the frizz statting to pop out and the curls bounce. then abotu a month ago i got my hair relaxed. it made WONDERS to my hair. it was still big and, kinda fizzy but not as bad. with a good hair iron, it took me about 1hr, 1hr and a half to straihten my hair. But then i got the SEDU 1 1/2 inch iron...LESS THAN 40 MINUTES!!!!!!!

this straightener got my hair straight, but it also fried it within 3 uses. It doesn't matter what product you use with it. My coriliss was better because it causes less damage- too bad it's broken......

My hair is pretty straight already, so I use this when I really want my hair to look sleek/polished. If I had it to do over again, I would have bought a smaller, less expensive one (in the $75 range). I'd recommend that those of you with easy to straighten hair save some $$ and do the same. This one works great, and the 1 1/2" iron makes it really fast to straighten alot of hair. I love that it came with a travel case- my travel case was delivered about a week later.

My hair is rather coarse, wavy, and frizz-prone. This smooths it out nicely, in much less time than a cheap straightener. Invest in a nice one like this.

Ok...I had a CHI flat iron, which I really liked, but after a year an a half it just stopped working one day. After reading the bad reviews about the CHI I decided to go with Sedu. I got it, used it, and it works great, but it really bugged me that its not rounded at the edges so you can't flip and curl. So, I borrowed a friends CHI and decided to put them to the test. I used the Sedu on one side, and CHI on the other and headed off to work to see which side would hold up the best. This is what I discoved: The sedu kept my hair straighter thoughout the day, my hair was softer, not dry as the CHI side-so I didn't need to use as much product, and my hair had a lot more "moveability"-I'm part African American, so this is a plus! I would give this iron 5 stars except for two things: It isn't curved for curling and flips, and the plates do get pretty hot-which makes it hard to press the flat iron at the ends. Other than than that it works great, and beats out the CHI for so many reasons.
i can straighten my hair in 15 minutes!

Well, i used to have my cousins old hot tools flatiron and then i had a maxiglide that my friend reccomended for me.
they were both horrible. i read this rexiew online and i was duobtful. i mean, it comes from the internet. weirdos could have written these reviews, but i decided to ask for one for my birthday anyway.
I could not have been happier with the results. if i want to straighten my hair and then put it up, i do it for 5 minutes. if i want to leave it down, i do it for 15 minutes and it comes out perfectly.
with my old flatirns i had to go down each strad 20-30 times, but with this one, a max of 3 times and its perfectly straight!
i love my sedu!!

I have long, very curly hair. When I brush the curl, it actually becomes a frow. I have tried several things to straighten it and different flat irons. This is by far the best. With others, the only result I've gotten is a straighter, tamer frizz and poof. The Sedu actually straightens my hair and does it so well that I only have to do it once and it stays straight until the next time I wash it.

i absolutely love this straightener! it is fast and efficient. i couldn't believe how lightweight it is compared to every other straightener i've ever had. heats up FAST, works the first time you go over a piece of hair- you don't have to go over and over the same hair three or four times. it's the best straightener i've ever had for sure.

I was getting ready to purchase a new Chi when I decided maybe it was time to try a new product line. I love the Sedu Flat Iron it leaves my hair feeling soft. The one think I didn't like was how Folica Packaged the item.....the box the flat iron came in inside a brown card board box with no packaging materials at all. Don't think I'll shop this website again.

This flat iron is the best one I've ever owned. I've been through quite a few and none of them come close to the SEDU straightener. My cousin has really tough hair. It's frizzy, really curly and not easy to tame. I straightened her hair with the SEDU and her hair was silky, shiny, and dead straight. I'd reccommend this flat iron to anyone who asks. Don't think twice, buy sedu without second thoughts!
