De-puff yourself!

My hair is not particularly curly or wavy. It's just really coarse, thick, Asian, and PUFFY. No matter how much the stylist thins it out, it';s always too puffy. I've tried the Chi, Solia, and a Conair, but nothing worked. The Chi didn't burn my hair, but it didn't control the puffiness either, it made it straight but it couldn't make it lie correctly. It took me half an hour just to get it straight (my hair is chin length). With the Sedu, I can do my hair in 3 minutes. Literally. Just turn it out, striaghten each piece once, and I'm good to go.
Worth every penny.

I have a short bob and even though I have straight hair, I still get some frizzies. But this iron helps eliminate the frizzies to give a sleek look. I also color my hair and I have not noticed any dryness.

I purchased this straightener 2 years after my previous stopped warming up on one side. I bought this one because it had great reviews. I started using it in January 2008 and two months later at the beginning of March it just stopped working. I called Folica and they sent me a replacement. Two months later it stopped working again! I was not even using it very frequently, just 2 times a week and I took very good care of it (putting it in a case, NOT dropping it, etc.).
Folica was very helpful in doing an exchange for a different product. Maybe this was just bad luck on my part, but I figured I would give people the heads up. Especially if they depend on their straightener like I do.

I had a less than 2 year old classic Chi and the cord recently broke so it either wouldn't heat up or would constantly shut off. It was decent but not amazing. Anyhow I just ordered this iron to replace it because it seemed really nice and had amazing reviews. It lives up to it's amazing reviews..ironed my hair way faster than the Chi...I can do it in about fifteen minutes-20 minutes to make it perfect, with Chi it took close to a half hour. And it stays way straighter the next day than my hair did with the Chi. Plus it makes my hair so silky soft. I just bought it but I love it. Plus, I ordered it on Sunday morning and it arrived to my house by Tuesday afternoon with the free shipping-amazing service. I definitely recommend it.

OMGoodness this is the BEST flatiron EVER!!! I have really frizzy ends and about an 1 inch of 4a new growth. I look like i just got a perm. No frizz no new growth its just fabolous. Best of all the iron did not damgae my hair. Normally after i flatiron my hair is a lighter brown b/c of the heat. Not this time, though the fact that i swithched heat protectants may have had something to do with that. Anyway just want every1 to know this is a great product, so great that i took time out of my day (which i never do) to let every1 know this is great!!! BUY BUY and BUY, u will b greatful u did, especially if u have coarse hair
love it!!

I enjoyed my sedu for about 2 months until the cord went bad. I sent the broken flatiron back into American Beauty Supply which owns Sedu. I have yet to have my flatiron returned, or my phone calls or emails. It's been 6 months.
It's a great product, hope you never need repairs.
The iron top gets too hot and burn your skin if you are not careful.

this is the first hair straightener I've owned. I thought I would just give a little feedback. It is a really good straightener. It only took me a few times to figure out how to use it. It takes seconds for it to heat up and about 5 minutes to straighten my hair. When I am done it looks nice and straight and shiny. I really like it and would recommend it to anyone who would like to straighten their hair.
love it

I have very course and curly hair. This flat iron was a smart buy. I have received so many comments on how great my hair looks. People always ask if I just had my hair done.

I gave this product an average rating because it gave my hair flyaway, split ends and it turned my natural color from black to dark brown. I've owned this straightner for three months and I only use it two times a week. My hair is mostly straight with a bit of waves and awhile back I cut my hair an inch above my shoulder so it flips up in all directions. Yes, I do apply thermal products to my hair and have the setting to the lowest but it still fries it. I expected alot more from this straightner. Oh, it does straighten your hair poker straight but it has flaws.
its the best!!!!

I was researching Chi flat irons on the web and after reading the reviews of the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tuormaline Flat Iron (1 1/2") and Folica's price (including a free carrying case for the iron), I decided to purchase. It is fantastic! Took it with me to my stylist/colorist and we were both amazed. It doesn't break my hair, seems to be shiner, and is very smooth running in through my hair. Would highly recommend this product for ALL ages!

Spend the extra money and get the 1"

I am a beauty school drop out and I have used at least a dozen different flat irons. I had previously been using a 1" babybliss, which I loved, until it decided not to heat for me one day. After reading the reviews I decided on the Sedu. They were out of stock on the 1" and I am inpatient so I ordered the 1 1/2". After a month of waiting I finally got it.
Here is what I like about it- It leaves your hair bone straight. The longer you go between washes it seems the straighter it gets. My hair usually begins to frizz the next day so this is really exciting for me. I can wear my hair down 3 days in a row without having to reiron my hair.
Now what I don't like- The iron needs to be spring loaded. My hair slides out very easy, which means I have to go over it more than once. The 1 1/2' surface area gives you less control. It makes it harder to curl or flip the ends in or out, and it does not speed up the process. Last but not least my hair doesn't feel silky smooth after ironing it. It's not a huge deal but it does bug me.
While I really like this iron I will be buying a 1" and use that instead. I would spend the extra money (or wait for it to come in stock)and get the 1".

Oh my god! i've never been so happy with any flat iron in my entire life. let me tell you a little bit about me. i am from bangladesh. majority of bengali girls have really sleek, shiny straight hair...but mine! oh well thats a different story. my hair is very poofy, frizzy and these weird curls. its like not curly like african hair, not straight like japanese hai, now weavy either. its like mixutre of all these hair textures. my hair texture is somewhat between curly and weavy.
i bought maxiglide two years in a row because i didn't know about sedu than well back then. beside the commercial of maxiglide was so appatizing i had to get it. i was somewhat pleased with it for few years. but it took long time to get my hair done and i lost so much hear because of the ceramic teeth on maxiglide. and even after one hours of using maxiglide my hair wouldn't look sleek, shiny or straight like japanese people's hair.
the other week i went and got myself a sedu flat iron (1 1/2 inch) from beauty supply store. it cost about $134. i came home, washed my hair, blew dry it. and then the magic began. sedu is so light weight, and it needs just one glide and all of a sudden you got amazing straight shiny sleek hair. it was amazing. i am never buying any other tools again. it's simply gives you result.
