I have been using straighteners for a long time. And every time I use one I think "today it will be smooth and sleek" and NEVER did it happen. I recently bought the Sedu 1 1/2 inch straightener. I was reluctent to take it out of the box because I kept telling myself "you wasted $115 on a hair tool!!! ridiculous!" well i am glad I did! I blow dried my hair and then straightened it the very day I got it! I LOOKED IN THE MIRROR AND ALMOST CRIED, THIS WAS NOT MY HAIR I HAD YESTERDAY, IT WAS LIKE I GOT TO START ALL OVER WITH NEW NEVER BEEN HEAT TOUCHED HAIR! THIS TOOL GIVES YOU AMAZING RESULTS, I GOT COMPLEMENTS ALL DAY LONG! IF ONLY I HAD HEARD OF THIS STRIAGHTENER SOONER!
This deserves a category of its own.

This flat iron is by far superior to the rest available on the commercial market. Honestly, there should be a column on the left-hand side for Sedu. I've used my friend's CHI, it's lovely but it's NO comparison.
Sedu is by far the best flat iron I've used or ever will use, period.
Trust me guys, it rains in Washington more than necessary. This works wonders.

It's amazing. Definitely cut my styling time by more than half and my hair comes out looking a lot nicer than the drug store iron I used to own. I have normal slightly dry Asian hair. My hair looks thicker and drier than I would like, so I flat iron it to make it look smooth and perfect. It literally only takes me five minutes to style my hair everyday, I use it in conjunction with the chi silk infusion to protect my hair from the heat and also to smooth away frizz, it works amazingly well. I highly recommend this product!

I bought this and returned it. NOT worth it because there are more versatile flat irons out there for the money. The negatives:
You cannot curl or even "bend" the ends of your hair with this iron (it will leave a funky crimp mark). Note: this iron does not claim it can curl hair but there ARE flat irons that will.
The cord does not swivel.
This iron did snag/pull my hair when I got down to the ends.
My hair was straight for the day but as soon as I slept on it the straightness came all undone...and I don't even have curly hair.
SOOOO disappointed...

Wow, where should I begin...
After seeing the thousands of amazing reviews of this, I decided to replace my old trusty Conair straightener. I would use my friend's ghd straightener a few times only to be disappointed because I didn't like the small 1 inch plates, so I thought that getting a 1.5 inch plate straightener would do me well (my Conair had 2 inch plates).
I expected nothing short of a miracle. To begin with, my hair isn't extremely frizzy and curly as most other peoples'... it's kind of wavy with a lot of frizz. What a waste of money this was... it took me LONGER to straighten my hair using this piece of expensive junk, and the box says that your hair will be SMOOTHER and FRIZZ-FREE. That didn't happen. I live in Canada, and I've seen some people reviewing from Texas saying this thing is great, so I don't know if mine is just crappy.
Maybe it's the hair care products I used, so please, someone tell me what they use when they do their hair.
I'm extremely disappointed, and would return this but it costs $30 to ship this back so I'm not sure if I will return it... bleh. I guess all expensive straighteners are crap.

i've owned a ton of straighteners that would straighten my hair... or so i thought. they really would just make it straighter. but when i got this straightener, i found out that my hair could actually be straight not just straighter. it is the best product i've ever owned. it may be more money than most straighteners, but it is more than worth it!

Great product, worked well. I have not used too many other flat irons but felt safe using this one on my hair. I used if everyday for about and week and each time it left my hair looking shinny and healthy. It was easy to use and worked quickly. This one was quicker to use than the 1" flat iron I had tried earlier. I recommend it for anybody with long, thick hair which can get difficult to manage.
Totally worth every penny!

I wanted to post pictures to go with this review, but my camera is broken, so I can't. :(
Anyway, I was excited after I placed my order. I read pretty much every review on this website. I received my order in two days!
I have VERY VERY think hair that is fine (I know that is kind of an oxymoron, but my individuals hair's are really fine. I just have enough for 6 people. I have seriosly been told this by at least 5 hairstylists that do not know each other at all.)
So, I washed my hair. Sprayed on a leave-in/heat protector and blowed my hair dry (This takes at least 45 minutes for me.) Afterwards, I am always left with fairly straight hair with no brushing or anything, Problem was it is so thick that it literally stands out like a pyramid when I am done with the dryer.
So, I turned on my Sedu iron and hoped for the best. It only took me about 15 minutes on the highest setting. I used pretty large sections of hair (.5" x 2"), so I would get done quicker. This iron cut about 30 minutes off of my morning routine. I love it! Best of all- IT STAYS THAT WAY FOR DAYS!!! When I used my old Corioliss it took me 30 minutes longer and as soon as I'd step out into the 90%+ humidity here in Nashville it would look like I did nothing at all...
BUY IT!! And tell your friends.

I absolutely love this straightener! It's my first flat iron, but when I've used my friends straighteners they don't hold up as well against my hair. I have really naturally curly, frizzy, wavy hair. I use it on the second setting with Silk Elements hair protectant, and it makes my hair so soft and straight!I would of put in some pictures, but my computer is acting funny. If you're in doubt about buying this straightener, don't be anymore!!

I read reviews and decided to get one as well even thou I've never heard of Sedu before. The shipping was a bit frustrating but the product works! I've read about how other people's irons broke down after a short period of time and I wonder how long mine's gonna last.

i'm really satisfied with my sedu. it's great if you have short hair and it makes my hair look so smooth everyday. be sure to use it in combination with some sort of conditioning cream or serum, not only to protect your hair but to make it straighten better. i love the fact my hair stays straight all day as well. if you're willing to fork over the money, it's well worth it.

The Sedu 1 1/2 in iron makes straigtening my hair so much easier at 3 in the morning! Even if I only have 15 minutes I can still straigten my hair with a flip and look like I stepped out of a salon! I have curly spanish hair! Thank you soo much!

This product came in about 2 days after it was ordered. I have thin, curly and frizzy hair. This flat iron makes your hair look shiny, feel silky soft and look extremely straight. But, be careful with it. DO NOT put an extention on it because then it will not turn on. That's why i had to purchase another one. It was my fault. It has been about 4 months now and it is still working great.

Based on the reviews, I expected a lot more out of this flat iron. Although the iron got my hair straight my hair was burned in the process (even at less than 300 degrees). Also even though the flat iron is lightweight, it is hard to maneuver since the the outside of it gets extremely hot. And unfortunately there was some snagging of my hair. In addition, my hair was left dry. Right now I own a Pro-Select that I bought from Marshalls for $30. Although it snags my hair on occassion it gives me better results than the Sedu. Perhaps it is just that I am used to an iron with a little more substance (or weight). So I'm sending this iron back today in exchange for a Solia. The Solia has excellent reviews and it is a heavier iron with moveable plates.

I decided to get this flat iron after seeing the before and after pictures.
It took a long time to get this, but i'm glad i got it.
It made my hair Very straight but my hair has A LOT of flyaways that's why i have 4/5 stars. :)

Hi everyone i order the product online over the weekend and was already exited just by looking the result and the review online,i did order it on the weekend and have to wait because they dont ship it in the weekend.Well after 5 days of waiting finally my door ring and that was my Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron (1 1/2") at first i was a little bit scared to tell you the trougth i tought maybe its like this tv commercial.I wanted to give it my first try its really ligth and the cord is long thats a good thing, turn it on at 350 for normal hair and what a great result its shiny,soft and my hair smell the same not odor at all that i read in some other review this is the best straigthener i got, i try many before my hair a really long and wavy in 25 minute i finish my whole head the more you use it the more its going to take less time. My money its worth all the way my husband saw my hair and told my hair was so beautifull i was so happy and the good part is you have a 2 years warranty so no worrie at all thanks sedu.

no you guys, forreal like i was like "ooo its like one of their best straightners" but it truly is. i tried it, and its sooo different than all the other straightners. like i have curly kinky nappy hair. im half black half filipino and my hair is just insane. well its not that bad...but this straightner creates miracles. im not kidding, try it for yourself...you wont regret it.
this website help me choose this straightner. and im completely satisfied with my decision.
the friz is ridiculous in north carolina, because humidity...my hair hasn't frized...curled...poofed... napped...or whatever.
its grrreeattttttt.. GREATTT!!! :)

I have just exchanged the Solia for the SEDU, and am so glad I did! This one is a bit larger, so it is easier for me to style my long,fine hair. It also does not pull my hair, like the Solia did. If you are trying to decide between the Solia and Sedu-spend the few extra dollars for the SEDU...it is SOOO worth it!!

I ordered my sedu 5 days ago. I have gotten the " Recieved " email, but not yet got my item. Lol, i'm still waiting. I'm going to post another review once i get it.
And after reading all these reviews, i finally ordered it. I'm kind of worried since my Babyliss has 170 watts, and the sedu only has 74 watts that it won't work as well, and my Babyliss does NOTHING to my hair. Hopefuly the sedu is more powerful and the watt counts are wrong. :)
