BEST IRON EVER!

I have extremely thick hair and I live in South Florida where the humidity makes even the straightest hair frizzy. After using many different brands of irons and various hair products, I finally bought the sedu about a year ago, but I lost it almost immediately. I had a credit at a local store, but they only carried Chi products. I went ahead and got a Chi iron and have used it for the past year, but I never was able to get my hair to look healthy (partially b/c the chi took soooo long to get through my thick hair). I then invested in pricey hair products to get rid of the friz, but nothing seemed to work. My chi finally broke last week, and I was so excited to order the Sedu again. Honestly, it was the best investment of my life! It took me maybe five minutes to get my hair perfectly straight and shiny and I didn't even use any products!! I have no idea how I've gone so long w/ out the sedu. If you are questioning what brand to go with, I would undoubtably recommend the sedu above all other irons. I've never written a review before, but this iron is so amazing that I felt like I had to give it some accolades!!

I had the SEDU once before and gave it away to a friend. I heard everyone talk about the CHI so I got the CHI. The CHI worked good for a few months but noticed it wasnt doing what the SEDU did. It was making my hair look dry. So the other day I was at my friends house and she had the SEDU I gave her and I used it to flatten my hair and got so many compliments the next day. So I purchased the SEDU again and I will never give it away again. It is so worth the money.

I rated the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Pro 1.5" flat iron "good" because it did straighten my hair. However, for the price and after all of these rave reviews I expected it to be better than the Remington Shine therapy flat iron--but it is not better. In fact, it is not even as good. The Remington Shine (with avocado conditioners) did add a lot of shine to my hair. This model of Sedu gave a little lustre. The Remington Shine flat iron did not pull my hair at all. This Sedu pulled my hair a little (very disappointed!). The Remington Shine flat iron was used on my relative’s very curly, super thick hair and the results were wonderful—shiney hair, no pulling, straightened, and in record time. I used that same iron on my hair and was amazed. (I have tight curl, wavy, shoulder length, thinnish hair; I am African-American). The Remington Shine therapy flat iron was very easy to use, straightening was so fast, my hair was very shiny and there was absolutely NO pulling. Today, I used my new Sedu. As I said in the beginning, it did the job of straightening quickly, left a little lustre, but it did pull. For $115 vs. $50 for Remington Shine flat iron I expected better of the Sedu and it let me down. It is not worth the money.
I understand users being thrilled with Sedu if other irons can't do what it can do but watch out Sedu, now there is an iron that can out do Sedu and for half the price.
Sedu is #1 but...

I have a Sedu flat iron for almost 3 years now its definitely #1 the only problem it has is that something goes wrong with the cord, the light turns on and off If I play around with the cord it will stay on for a little while then turns off again. Im really careful with my stuff so I dont know what happen otherwise I would had rated 5 stars because it leaves your hair super straight, silky smooth and very shiny. I love Sedu but mines broke already 3 times plus when I first bought it had to return the 1st one cause on the 3rd day it wouldnt turn on, folica replaced it without any problems but the one I have Ive gotten it repaired 3 times already so now I decided to buy a Solia I like it but I feel that with the Sedu my hair looked shinier, smoother and straighter. I decided to give Solia a try since my Sedu kept on giving me problems.

After reading all the glowing reviews on this site, I decided to go with the Sedu Flat Iron when I originally was going to go with the Chi. I already have a 1" Chi, but my hair is very long now and I need a bigger one. I can't believe how bad this iron is...I'm still in shock. Yes, it flattens my hair, and it gets very hot, but it does NOT glide the way a flat iron should (even with hair protection spray on), and it pulls my hair to the point where it hurts! I also think it's damaging my hair. I wouldn't recommend this iron to my worst enemy. I'm now going with my first instinct and getting the Chi...the very best iron on the market.

I have thin blonde hair, and I was looking for something good. I tried this after not knowing anything about flat irons, just that this one had good reviews. I got it about 2 years ago and it still works great and my hair isn't all damaged from it! I also bought my sister in law one who has crazy curly frizzy hair. We both love SEDU, I used my friends Chi and thought it was crap in comparison. Name brand means nothing apparently. I want to get a 1" so that I can curl it easier, but it still can be done it just takes a bit of practise.
If your on the fence about what to buy, this is amazing. Just thought I would let you know! If you don't like this product, its because you are using it wrong, which is hard to do! Peace!

I didn't think my BabyLiss flat iron was all that bad until I got a hold of this Sedu. It's off the charts. It cut my time in half (or more), and makes my hair much smoother, flatter and shinier than I was ever able to do before. I can't say enough about it. Worth every penny.
Straightens well but doesnt damage hair

am African American an also ex-hairdresser, My experience with my new Sedu is positive. It straightens hair and doesn't burn it. Make sure you have virgin hair in good condition. However,if you dont my advice is to condition with a good protein conditioner and hot oil treatments, along with a good moisturizer. Redken products are great for dry or damaged hair. Wash hair for at least once a week or more, deep conditioning each time, with the products mentioned above or similar products. Once the hair is in better condition..use your Sedu, and continue to alternate protein conditioner with hot oil or a mositure enhancer weekly ....Best wishes

It's really good and stuff. But I have usually silky hair but not exactly straight; i guess you would call it normal. But make sure you DON'T HAVE SPLIT ENDS BEFORE YOU USE THIS! it will make split ends stand out! BUT IT DOES NOT CAUSE SPLIT ENDS or pull my hair or burn the ends and i just got mine yesterday so ill have to see how it stands the test of time.
IT REALLY IS A MAGIC TOOL!!!

After being let down by several models of the CHI iron, I decided not to give up on flat irons altogether, and instead, to try the Sedu due to its great ratings. I am not kidding you, this iron is THE BEST iron (really styling tool altogether) that I have EVER used! I have used a LOT in my day. My hair is SUPER thick; when highlighting my hair, my stylist schedules an extra hour 1/2 for foiling time. And, to top it all off, my hair is really long and super curly and frizzy! It is the kind of hair NO ONE wants to have:) However, with this product, you can be lazy! No more sectioning each little piece off and ironing it; even with my hair, I just let it air dry--because curly, and straighten in later whenever I have time! I use it like I use a brush! It works THAT WELL! No more pulling your hair out, or only getting the top of the hair piece straight and not the very ends! This does it all! No matter what some people might say on here----IT DOESN'T BURN YOUR HANDS/FINGERS (or hair) AT ALL!
MUST BUY!!!!!
Love it!!!

after about a year of frying my hair with my $50 straightner i decided to purchase a Sedu. At 1st i thought it was a little pricey but once i got it all price concerns were gone its slim and cute and doesnt fry my hair at all!!! then only negative is it's very fragile if you drop it i did and the plates are off but works just the same. So if your unsure whether to get it take my advice and get it and have soft hair like me ;]

After reviewing and reading all the information and all the great remarks about this Sedu flat iron, I wanted to get it. So I got it as a X-mas gift and within 9 months I had to exchange it 3 times!!! For some reason the on/off button is very cheap on this iron and it stops working after awhile.
worth $120 not cheap...other than that no complaints, other than the cord gets tangled because it doesn't spin. If I new it was going to stop working after a short time I would have never gotten it. Don't have money to waist. Will see what happens with the 3rd one. They are cheaply made for that kind of money. I don't know if anyone had the same problem but I went through 3 of them and the year isn't up yet...something's definitely wrong!!!! Wouldn't recommend.
My first straightener

So I got the Sedu about 3 years ago, and it worked wonders on my hair. I have very curly, thick, frizzy hair, and the sedu tamed it all down to flat and straight. Great. This was a reliable straightener up until about a year ago because there must have been a short or something in the extension cord and it would only work if the cord was at a certain angle. It stopped working all together about a month or two ago. But that doesn't discourage me, I'm going to be buying a new one soon.
I had mine for less than a year...

I got this iron for the holidays last december. I bareley used it untill late august of 2008. Starting in the begining of september 08, I used it weekly. in early october 08,I was straightening my hair with the sedu, and it electricuted my coach handbag, which was next to me and the cord ripped. before that, the sedu straightened my coarse, thick hair well, but it took about 4 hours. It wasnt really worth the money i spent on it. it created split and dead ends, it damaged my hair, and it would sometimes overheat.

I wear my hair naturally curly. as, I am a woman of color with a mixed race (Black, White, Mexican)heritage. Now, I did used to wear my hair relaxed. But, years of using relaxers in my hair had unfortunately left my hair dull and always breaking off. So, I decided to go the natural route. Now, I do mainly wear my hair curly as I do appreciate the natural curls that God blessed me with. However, there are some times that I do prefer to wear my hair straight. And, when I do this flatiron is there to help me achieve that look.
I have several flatirons. As, I love collecting them , even though I don't flat iron my hair all the time. And, out of all the flatirons that I currently own, this one ranks amongst the best that has ever touched my hair.
This irn does leave my hair feeling or looking like straw. Also, it doesn't to any type of breakage. And, it always get my hair completely straight (in such a short time)and keeps it that way all day long.

I’m soooooooooooooo pleased with my purchase! Last month I broke my cheap BSS flat iron and have been without one since. I’ve heard that many ladies have tried ceramic flat irons to much success, so I decided to take the plunge into the world of “expensive ceramic flat irons.” I was torn between ordering a CHI or the Sedu. After doing much research on hair forums and here on Folica.com I ordered the Sedu Flatiron last week and received it last night. I was so excited that I had to wash my hair and test it out. After washing my hair and blow-drying I applied my CHI Silk Infusion and put my Sedu to the test, (I have BSL, fine, very wavy, colored, African-American relaxed hair). I am now a convert. My hair was bone straight and shiny, without frizzies with one pass. This purchase is well worth its price. No more cheap BSS flat irons for me! I am an official Sedu believer!

I am a Hairstylist in Bedford Hills, New York and purchased this flat iron for professional use. The iron gets hot within seconds and the blinking light makes it easy to see that the iron is ready for use. It does not snag the hair and the ceramic plates make it a much safer option for maintaining the integrity of the hair. I would definitely recommend this flat iron to anyone looking to purchase a flat iron.
