I have very thick coarse wavy hair and this really does the job for me. My sister has a chi, she loves it for her thin hair, but for me it wasn't good enough.
This iron heats up fast to high temps, it's width takes care of a lot of hair at once, which cuts down my time in front of the mirror.
This sedu iron is fabulous. If you're getting it to curl your hair you might be disappointed, its too wide for a nice job.
Best Straightener but bad cord

I have owned 2 sedus and loved both of them dearly but both of them broke within a year and a half. which gets quite expensive. I did not roll up my cord more than twice in the time i owned either straighter and still it broke. But honestly the best straighter I have ever tried

I had a cheap flat iron before and took me so long for my hair to be straight. This one is done in few minutes and best of all doesn't damage my hair at all. So easy to use, heats inmediately saving me time and my hair looks great. I received many compliments about my hair after this flat iron.. beacause it looks longer and healthier =)

I have been using a $30 Revlon flat iron that I got from target about a year ago. I heard really great things about the Chi, but when I saw it did not have a temperature gauge I got flashbacks of my friend burning my hair with a too hot curling iron, I decided to do my research to find another flat iron. I came across the Sedu and with the great reviews I thought I would give it a try. I thought I would never spend a $100 plus on a flat iron, but I won't flinch on spending $150 or more on designer jeans. I tried the Sedu yesterday and decided to try it on my niece's hair because my hair was freshly already flat ironed with my Revlon and thought it wouldn't be a good test. My niece has slightly coarse curly hair. I used the Sedu on the left side and the Revlon on the right side. I couldn't tell when the Sedu was completely heated because the power light was flickering constantly, even after 20 minutes. When compared to the Revlon, I think the Sedu straightened it a little faster, but the results were comparable. I am going to wash my hair tonight, let it air dry and then Sedu on my own hair again. Unfortunately, I think it will be going back.

The first day i recived the flat iron i used it on my curly short hair...i recently got a hair cut and came out nice but only when its straight.. so now with my new sedu i straighten my hair in just 10 minutes when it use to make me thirty...and my hair looks shiny and healthy.. got lots of compliments when i went to work that day... i recomend it if your looking for a flat iron...i looked and compared and this is the one.

my hair when i go to the salon they usually charge me $30 but now i could do it my self and it only takes me like less then an hour and my hair is really crazy and frizzy but with the iron i could sleep on my hair and it will still look nice in the morning. It worth the 115.95 defenitly

I am still in love with my sedu and i have had it for over 2 years now. i have dropped it many times, brought it to college and have never had problems with it. i have very curly, fine hair and a pain to straighten; until i bought the sedu. now it is not a pain to do my hair!
BUY THE SEDU! amazing!!!
worth every penny (and i have noticed the price has even dropped since i bought mine!!)

My husband bought this for me at least 4 years ago. He did his research and thought the reviews were better than the chi. I was upset becuase I had never heard of it before. But after using it, I loved it! It was smooth, never pulled my hair, and worked great! In the past six months the cord is starting to short out, and I have dropped it, so there is a broken piece on the inside. Now I am just trying to find which Sedu flat iron I want next!

I've had my Sedu flat iron for about a year and a half and I knew that it was starting to wear down on me, but without any backup at the time, I continued to use it. Well one day, I was waiting for it to heat up and out of no where the cord on the base of the iron sparked a flame and fizzled out. I immediately unplugged it and threw it out. Its a bummer that it didn't last as long as I would have liked it to last. I used my iron on a daily basis and the reason I think it burned out on me is because the cord was constantly twisting inside causing it to wear faster than usual. Good luck with your Sedu experience! I know I will be purchasing a new one regardless!

I previously owned a CHI, but it quit working a few weeks after the year warrenty ran out. I came on folica to get another CHI, when I came across the Sedu. All the reviews were so good, and there were a lot of people like me who had experienced similar things with the CHI. I have now owned my Sedu for 2 years without any problems! I never realized how dry and brittle the CHI left my hair until I started using the Sedu! I promise it is worth the money! 6 STARS. This product is Excellent!

I bought this straightner after reading some of the reviews. I was pleased with the results but the thing broke after a year. It's not like I even used it every day, probably more like twice a week, and was VERY careful with it. Now I'm looking to buy another one but it sure won't be from this brand!! Not worth the money!

I was sooo excited to receive this for Christmas. I had been using a $20 straightener for 6 years...a huge mistake! After using the sedu the first time, my hair was MUCH straighter and glossy. I can tell that it is not damaging my hair (as much anyway). In addition, the Sedu heats up in seconds, which is great. I am very pleased, and I think that this product is definatley worth the price!!!

I purchased the Sedu 1-2 years ago and I think it's really great!
my hair is really textured, thick and course and curly and stuff.. i use to sedu at about 320-360 degrees. it does a great job of taking out my curls but sometimes my hair can stay a little wavy if i don't put enough hard work into it.
when i do straighten it well, no matter what, my dry ends usually still have like this little curl at the end.. i dont really like how it looks. i would say if you have dry hair or something that you buy some kind of heat protectant spray or something that seals your hair follicule to make it look better.
over all its good..

There are other flat irons out there? Oh, I thought SEDU was it, it is!!!!!! Those ones you buy in the store, dont waste your money. If you want good product you have to buy good product. My hair is long and I use the iron most everyday and my hair has never been so shiny and soft. I love my SEDU, no others compare

Ok so I I have very curly frizzy hair. I tried a numerous amount of straighteners but none of them gave me enough shine. The sedu made my hair shiny and beutiful but I have one problem with it. It caused soooo much breakage! My hai r is in terrible condition. My hair is so hard to straighten that I just leave it for weeks without washing it and keep restraightening and touching it up every morning without washing it. This is causing my hair to break. As good as the sedu is it should have some sort of heat protection coated over the plates to prevent damage. Despite my deficciences I would definitely recommend this flat iron to anyone who is looking to purchase one. If anything, the sedu is the way to go!

I got this in the mail one day and decided to go ahead and wash and blow dry my hair. I decided to do a couple pieces of my hair with my new Sedu flat iron. Once I got started I couldn't stop, my ironing took a total of 7 mins.! I have very thick, coarse hair. I always call it "horse hair". This iron cut my time in more than half and I would recommend it to anyone. I love the temp dial. It is so lightweight too! I also love the 1 1/2 wide plates, it helps give a little more heat on your hair as you are pulling it across. Love it, love it, love it.

I recently purchased this flat iron a couple weeks ago and i absolutely 100% LOVE IT!! I've had other flat irons before like the CHI but nothing compares to this flat iron!!
The CHI snaggled my hair and was heavy and broke fairly quickly. This flat iron is lightweight and gets hot very quickly. I wouldnt recomend anything else!! I also use this flat iron everyday and it keeps my hair very shiny.
